This is absolutely brilliant. It saddens me that Kirstie Alley has been reduced to Dancing with the Stars and Jenny Craig commercials, because she is an amazing comedic actress. This whole sequence is hilarious.
It shouldn't sadden you. Kirstie got paid big bucks and received lots of positive exposure for "Dancing with the Stars" and Jenny Craig. It's not like she was on "Celebrity Rehab". And I heard her being interviewed on Howard Stern a few years ago and she seemed totally content and secure with herself.
RIP Kirstie. This was a relic from the late 90s I hadnt seen again until recently, having forgotten many of its inspired moments. This was a great scene for Kirstie Alley, who is by turns heartbreaking and hilarious. She was one funny lady.

This movie is one fucking riot from start to finish, and this one scene managed to stand out a mile high above the rest. And I appreciate how Woody did not even bother with continuity. I guess he just chose the best takes and spliced them together.
That scene with the patient, that was brilliant...considering that his problems is like a mirror of hers and though she is the therapist, she is the one more distraught.
She was so fantastic here and everywhere else. How wonderful that she has left us some an immense amount of work that displays her talents! RIP, Ms. Alley. I watch this over and over.
Kirstie Alley is as talented an actress as anyone else was, how she didn't get more attention for her incredible capability is absolutely beyond me, not only does she steal this scene, she steals the entire movie, this is just a classic example of someone who is of Meryl streep's capability who never got the recognition she deserved
