LOL i asked a builder about 12 volt lighting and they looked at me like i was off of my mind 4 years ago

Next time cover the implications of DC lighting for Grid-Tied and Off Grid alternative energy sources like Solar or Wind generation. This clean energy market is going to crave any additional efficiency that low voltage can bring. It'd be nice to be able to have solar energy stored on a battery that can supply AC and DC backup loads simultaneously.

I like how they designed it. Especially how low-cost basic install can later be upgraded.

Its 2023 and DC lighting is going stronger than ever, with ceiling fans, exhaust fans, strip lights and wireless controls, live in homes nationwide since 2018.

We are off-grid with 48v batteries, can you go straight from the batteries somehow with your system rather than DC-AC-DC?

@@toodeep1913 yes - no need to step up and down again. you will want to limit the peak voltage to about 54v during the battery charge cycle - the RD6006 is a nice way to implement the limiter with a display

My question is, is the switch that takes it from 110 to 12 or 48 volt, or is there r
    Transformer besides the light switch

There is a central panel with the power supply that feeds everything 50V.
