It’s surprising how many things in Portal 2 have hit detection that you’d never really touch in a normal play through.
source games are better than any other games simply because of that

I recommend to anyone who tries this mod to bind "r_drawclipbrushes" to their keyboard, as this mod doesn't seem to remove any invisible walls and it's frustrating to manuver around them without it.
The Mario Odyssey paintings could be a really cool addition for a potential update to this mod, if you'd like to do that
it would be really cool to see portal maps designed with this in mind

Fun Fact: In Mario Odyssey, you *should* actually be able to do a corner wall jump with ease, but Nintendo hard-coded it so you can't. If you try, you can reach the other wall with enough height using a spin, but Mario simply won't cling to the wall until you're below the height you jumped from the other wall, meaning Nintendo actively didn't want you to do that.
Such a cool mod, now we need a Portal 2 Hide & Seek with this mod!

I have a idea. What if the portals worked like the gels? When you enter the orange portal, it FLINGS you very far away! And when you enter the blue portal, you get a INSANE airtime!

Glados is just sitting there by the end wondering how Chell was able to get through every single one of the tests by only using a total of 40 portals
Ok. I think I got a GOOD idea for a challenge, finally.
The challenge is that every step you take, you get smaller, if you're too small, you can't affect button plates, reach button pedestals, or lift objects. Areal faith plates can possibly also throw you farther.
But falling through portals or through the air (funnels count as falling through air) won't make you smaller.
This can also mean you need to get creative when how you get things around (falling from above to catch the button on the pedestal, fitting through smaller gaps)
I don't know if this could work, or if it needs some tweaks, or if it's just not that great. But I hope I'm onto something.

The issue with such challenges is that you can't apply the same limitation (in this case, it's simply least steps) to every level equally. Portal 2 has maps as small as Triple Laser and as large as Three Gels.
Besides, I've already done player resizing before. Not to this extent, but it isn't strictly original. Selling this idea is not easy.

@@ianmitchell5979 Title first, idea after. If it's interesting, it'll be intuitive. And if the title is bad, what's the point of making a mod if no one will watch it.
After that, you just tweak it to play well in all of the game's scenarios. It helps to know all of the game's maps and quirks off the top of your head. Most challenges I've made are ones that I just "throw at the game" and then pace through the levels imagining how it'll play. And most challenges fail in this step. My earlier videos fail to show this too, as my quality control didn't exist back then.
Really do just ask yourself if you'd care to watch a 15-20 minute video on it. If you can't answer that (as in, you're not sure what the video would entail - which seems to be the case here) then you haven't planned out the challenge enough. If it's a no, then that's obviously simply boring. If it's a yes, that still doesn't guarantee a fun mod, but it'd be good for what I do.

Portal 2 but you have limited portals. You start with 4 portals once you pick up the blue portal gun, so the automatically fired portals don't count (each fire of a new portal acts as one portal shot, so a pair of orange and blue portals cost 2 portal uses) and can collect more portals, by finding them in either obvious or secure places in the map, saving them if you have extra when the level finishes. You could find these similar to the moons in this video, either very hidden or out in the open, depending if they are necessary to complete the game, so the minimum amount of portals required in portal 2 in least portals, and extra portals found purely to make the game easier for more inexperienced players to beat the game without learning speedrun tricks. I thought this was an interesting concept since it's like least portals at some points and a normal playthrough at others. It would be more fun for casual players or people who don't know how to do least portals, becasue it adds an extra element, making sure that you don't mess up a portal, searching for more portals, and then also planning ahead to make sure you have enough portals for the level.
Hey ! Insane mod you got there ! One question (I can't find anything online so I ask here), when I start Spplice and try to install the mod, it just says "cleaning up..." forever and nothing happen, do you know (or someone else, feel free to reply) how to fix this ?
Try running Spplice as Administrator

I know this comment is probably not going to be seen, but I’ve got an idea. What if you imported the abilities of Link from Tears of the Kingdom into Portal. That would include recall, accend, and ultrahand. You could make some really cool test chambers with these abilities in combination with portals

Imagine portal but portals have a chance to spawn a gel blob or a funnel or something
I love this blend. Would be neat if there were options to get just the movement without the capture mechanic or toggle the moon requirements so it can be used in a normal casual/story run.
Also, Spplice doesn't seem to work for me. Portal 2 on an external drive and ran it once without Steam already open, and now it just seems to not do anything when I try to dl a mod or click the remove button.
Would there be a good place to get in touch for troubleshooting?
Try restarting Steam, that fixes some common issues. Also, make sure you're running Spplice with Portal 2 closed. Steam doesn't necessarily have to be open, but it is suggested.

Hey, i dont know if this is the right place to ask (please redirect if there is since i can't find it) but im having trouble getting this to work whenever i press "install and launch" it just goes straight to "starting portal 2" i feel like it's not detecting the exe for it but im not sure how to make it find it
This seems to be a common and inconsistent issue. It's not related to "detecting the exe" as much as you might "feel like it". It knows where Portal 2 is, it just can't start it because Windows won't let it. Just reboot or restart Steam and try again. Maybe launch Portal 2 normally, close it, then try Spplice. Most users just find that it magically works after a few attempts, and I really have not figured out what the lead cause might be.

Do p2 with rocket launcher, bc you already did that as a mod. I do not know how it is named, one of intro ones(one after smooth jazz, as i remember) is my favourite. Future starter lead to discovering you can fire multiple rokets at ones to get INSANE boost, and trust fling as i can say is the ultimate pinnacle for me. Laser over goo was also cool
does anyone know how to get spplice up and running? really want to try this out, but it cant detect my copy of portal 2 even if its installed (yes its a steam copy not a pirated one)
