Hey mate, just wondering what the gap above the water pump casing is? Just noticed it today on my TPI 300, looks like some oil (think 2t oil?) May be coming out of it.
Just an additional note for installation: My 21 KTM 300 XCW TPI has a 2 piece plastic impeller instead of a 1 piece like the video. Each section must come out for this to work. The 2nd piece is a bit more resistant to leaving than the 1st.
@@stevebaum hey, I noticed that on my 22 husky today while I was changing mine out, 2 pieces instead of one. Thanks for the info. Is your held on by a nut instead of a bolt shown in the video? Any tips on how to get the inside piece out?
They typically don't fail. The video is for guys changing to a better impeller design. slavensracing.com/shop/water-pump-impeller-ktmhusaberg-2-strokes-checkpoint/

Power valve linkage. Normalto have some residue inside, but if it’s leaking out then your air/fuel mixture is way too rich

@@3dpdstom That was about a year ago & I honesty do not remember..
@@3dpdstom sorry, that was seemingly a long time ago & I’ve forgotten if I did anything special.
What if my impeller doesn't spin freely? Is it supposed to?
It only spins when the engine is running.
The impeller is geared to the engine, it will only spin if the motor is turning over. If it's spinning freely, there's a problem.
Cars run plastic impellers for over 10 years and 120k miles. Are these plastic impellers failing?
