"Who would wanna watch a video about tiny plastic toys at 5 in the morning?"
"Oh boy 5 am!"
it's 11am here in Europe - perfect content to watch during work :)
They're models, at least get it right.
@@emile1365 Toy Soldiers
@@johnalbers6153 They're two very different things.
REEEEEEEEE!!!
i understood that reference lol
The crossius and power fist chaplain is the only one i actually own, because i absolutely adore his "Come at me bro" pose. I have him and the old Tyranid broodlord in a diorama titled "The come at me bro's"
I bought a few of them for 5th ed for my BA's. Added a jetpack and put them with assault marines and smash captains for lots of fun.
All those Chaplins and not a single Charlie.
someone said charlie, 40k chaplain moistcr1tikal?
Nice one 👍
That joke took me way to long to figure out. Good work lolol
Comment of the year and it isnt even close
The lack of Charlie's is very sad
The Crozius+Powerfist Chaplin was from back when Initiative was in the statblock. Players picked what weapon the unit fought with in melee, (or rarely none at all). Powerfists always attacked last then, so the player could choose to hit harder with the Powerfist, or hit earlier with the Crozius.
Ahhh.... the days of 5th Ed :)

I’m the same way. Chaplains, Apothecaries (I’m a paramedic) and dreadnaughts are my collecting weaknesses! I’ve got a lot of the older Chaps, including the FW Chaplain Dred, two original Grimaldus’ one still needs painting and a few of the newer ones, new Grimaldus will be a purchase soon, as you can tell, I’m also Templars collector.
Jay you really need the chaplain dreadnought, he's so cool. I love mine, named him gilgamesh often paired with my librarian dread who I called Enkidu.
Shame chappie dreads can't be master of sanctity on tabletop yet libby dreads can be chief librarian it's kinda strange
Love the Babylonian naming scheme 🙂
@@warsmithstefanos2095 shit came here to say this. Although I was thinking Sumerian. 🤔.
@@jc7997aj my bad, Babylon was a bit later. The epic of Gilgamesh is prevalent in Babylonian texts as well though.
I'm doing the same thing with Inquisitors!
Such a great project! It's fantastic to be able to feel like 'I'm the grandmaster of this G.W. character - I doubt anyone else can top my dedication to this faction' - I'm also collecting codexes like I'm sure you do with Templars as well.
There's a fair bit less Inquisitor models than Chaplains (because "error - this non-Space Marine does not compute to maximum profit" of course) but it's pretty dam hard to find the earlier ones, and the toughest bit is there really isn't much information out there on what old Inquisitor models have been released...
I've said before I'm unfortunately not working atm because i recently beat a 14 year drug addiction so I've gotta get my life together again, finish therapy & find a new job, and having to cut ties with everyone I knew means I'm struggling a little bit with depression & being lonely atm (that's why I got back into 40k!). BUT I always have a great day when I wake up to a new EoB video!!! And this one in particular has put a bounce in my step and a smile on my face cos you're showing your whole chaplain collection; which I've been hoping to see for ages!!!
I love chaplains! As a kid I didn't understand them: why would super-advanced, super-soldier killing-machines have a vicar with them!? Are they Christians!? Surely not in M41?? And why do they look like grim reapers!?!? And if they are priests/vicars why would they be going into battle with them!?!?!?
Back then the lore wasn't anywhere NEAR as easily accessible or clear as it is now... To have a chance at understanding it you'd have to have read every codex & rulebook since before I was born, AND you'd have to own all the novels & comics which were really hard to buy copies of cos you couldn't just get them in store or online, they were mail-order only or found in random book stores, so you could only get IF white dwarf advertised them & gave their mail order reference number, AND you'd have to have kept up with buying & reading every White Dwarf where most of the new rules & lore are published... There was certainly no wiki or CZcams lore videos back then: you don't know how good you've got it now!!
Although I have to say I did prefer it back then: everything was so mysterious, 40k felt like a real universe out there somewhere that was constantly existing & changing where you knew what was happening or not, different people would give you contradictory explanations or different bits of information on events, which a lot of the time would actually be fan theories passed from person to person (like 40k folk-tales!), new cool models would appear in the store & you'd know they had a story but not what it was... It was epic...
Anyway sorry for the long comment. If you've read it all thanks so much!
Today's definitely going to be a whole day of hobbying!
Thanks Nick & Jay, you guys rock!!
I can remember being made fun of at a GW store years ago by staff for putting a scope on a plasma pistol stating that the gun would melt the scope. Still looks cool and I'm glad I'm not the only one that did this.
Rule of cool!!!
Imagine going to a store, to only be made fun of gluing lumps of plastic to a bigger lump of plastic. I say "its my lump of plastic, there are many like it, but this one is mine" you go make weird gun kit-bashes, embrace the ork life style
Also Grimaldus, the most famous chaplain, literally has scoped plasma pistol since Helsreach :D
i still love that in the leadup to indomitus gw put out fake rules for the justicar that had him behaving as a commissar with a wounding bonus against first born stuff, it was certainly a fun troll
Never commented on this channel before, but as a fellow Chaplain (and Apothecary) collector, I'm incredibly glad others love their aesthetics and gothic designs - truly, you are a man of taste! Keep up the great videos and thank you!
YES! I've been waiting to see your full chaplain collection for AGES!! Fantastic! Thanks Jay (& Nick - the power behind the throne)!!!
Great video guys. Love to see collections like this that span decades of WH40K editions.
Also, you really should design and 3D print a life size crozius!!
Chaplains are badass. 'nuff said. Also my first chaplain was the jump chaplain as well
Crispy clean paint jobs,
Stay lifted Jay 💪🏻😎🤙🏻
Thanks for your videos Jay !! Your enthusiasm makes me want to paint and improve my skills.
I too love collecting things. Needlessly having a lot of one thing brings me joy.
Hey eons of battle! Watching this video convinced me to finally get around to painting my bike chaplain! Love your videos man
The Rogue Trader on jetbike is still my fave. That video is like ASMR.
Really fun video. As soon as you mentioned the chaplain collection the other day I wanted to see them.
When that Chaplain with power fist came out, you could have two close combat weapons. There were more options for character models back then.
I really enjoyed you complimenting your work. You can really tell how much you love these guys, and they are beautiful
Awesome video, so great to see all the history
Oh my god i loved that video so much. Please show us more of your collection!!!!!!
That terminator chaplain looks bonkers. The lighting on the head is amazing. So realistic looking. Great job on that one.
I loved the sculpt on the original Terminator Chaplain. We had quite a few of the old metal chaplains back in the early to mid nineties. Their skull helms were always so intimidating! I remember spending many hours trying to get the metal combi weapon chaplain looking just right. It was harder back then working with lead paints and enamels! Your models look great and these models were my favorite space marine figures. I was a Squat/Ogryn/Imperial Guard fielding guy myself!
Super cool collection! Thanks for sharing
i'm with you on the chappies! i love these models, so much character and variety.
As usual you have inspired me Jay! As a Chaos player and collector/hoarder lol I have a few sorcerers already so now I'm on the quest for more!
Amazing work mate! They all look really good :)
It's fun to collect character with many variations throughout time, I personally collect seers.
I absolutely love that you've painted them as templars. I play black templars aswell and chaplains have to be my favourite models in the army especially Mr. Grimaldus himself.
Also I have the same goal with imperial guard commissars, to get each one! I just love collecting models, I managed to finally get every ork warboss model!
I’m watching your video randomly, I think you really enjoy and achieved skills a lot.
Thanks for inspiring me, hope you always enjoy and share your talents to viewers.😮❤🎉
So many epic models! Love the tin purity seals too, might have to try doing that myself.
Sick collection! Would love to see you tackle those Rogue Trader ones soon! :D
Inspiring!! Those are some gorgeous chaplains!! I’m going to have to do the same with my excess of old Ork Nobz seems like a fun hobby side quest!!
Nice. I love Chappies and love BT's. Starting a BT army myself soon. Those new plastics have inspired me. I had been holding off doing a Primaris army until the right Army came along for me, and I think BT is the one. The aesthetic really speaks to me, and I won't have to spend months working out what scheme I want to do them in, as the black is gorgeous and is just what I want.
I'm just getting the primaris chappy on bike and grimaldus to start with though. They're all I need for my army. I would like to add more though, just for my shelf. That old terminator one has always been a favourite of mine.
The first terminator chaplain you showed is the first one I bought, but in metal. It was also the first loyalist Space Marine I ever painted. I recently found him looking pretty sad in a bin with all my other models that were taken off of display as I got better at painting over time. I just finished repainting him, and I was amazed how well that sculpt holds up even to modern standards.
Hey, I also have a big collection of Chaplains from Rogue Trader up to now. Glad to know I'm not the only one collecting them :-D
These guys look outstanding! I just ordered the Chaplain from the Indomitus box to try my hand at painting one of these guys!
After you aquire every single chaplain. You can move on to every primaris lieutenant.
Love the vid! Have you ever thought about creating your own custom chaplain? Either by kitbashing or working with a sculpting company
I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one who has a chaplain obsession. There are a couple more 3rd-4th edition chaplains you’re missing, there was a metal jump pack chaplain around late 3rd early 4th. Got it in one of my cases somewhere.
I would think the Chaplain model with powerfist and crozius was meant to be used in close combat armies such as the Blood Angels, Space Wolves, Black Templars, etc. I love all of your Chaplain models. The paint job is top notch and the extras added truly make them your own, Jay. Happy Holidays to you and all of your viewers.
Fantastic collection
Always been my favourite models... So cool
I love it when people say "I read an audio book." Hahaha always makes me chuckle. Amazing collection dude.
I love this. If I ever do an army with a lot of different iterations of the same characters I'd like to do something similar.
Wow nice minis! I like the first chaplain you showed! also imperium magazine is now available in the US now!
That is a stunning collection of Black Templars. I am curious how ever I did not see Chaplain Grimaldus in this video.
Would be great to see you paint the blood angels chaplain with jump pack. The wings make it unique and i feel like you could do some cool basing to make him look even jumpier.
I really like the new chaplain in bike, I hope they make a primaris apothecary and captain one day
The modern Primaris Chaplain is sick. I got him and the Primaris Librarian in Phobos Armor at the same time. I don’t even play 40k, I just love those models, so had to add em to my collection.
Great collection!
I'm over here collecting space wolves and here Jay is collecting TONS of chaplains! Nonetheless can't wait to see the rest painted up!
do you have a guide on how to do those bases? i love them!
Nice work. Great job
Cheers
Jay please do a quick tip video on making those tin purity seals!!!
They look SO much easier than using green stuff but I have absolutely no idea what kind of tin to get or how to cut it!
we DO have a video showing off how to do it! you can watch that video here: czcams.com/video/94HB06tcuKw/video.html&ab_channel=EonsOfBattle
@@EonsOfBattle FANTASTIC!!!!
Nice collection bro. I like buying all the SM chaplains too. However I always convert them to chaos
I'd love to see a video of you painting that converted chaplain with the chaos power fist!
Nice, nice collection , cool models, 👍
I would love to see you add some of the Lemartes models to your collection. While Blood Angels specific they are very cool sculpts and have special jumpy boy back packs.
Epic collection! Ever managed to get your hands on a Games Day 2003 Wolf Priest? That chaplain looks dopeeeee
And when you finally have all the chaplains then we hopefully get to see your OC chaplain the potential excitement is palpable
14:40 I have bought the same chaplain for my retrohammer Imperial Fists. Of course with mandatory plasma gun :D
Please paint and do an updated chaplain video. Loved these
Lemartes Guardian of the lost is my Favourite (and only) chaplain. He looks cool as hell and his lore is also awesome.
Loved this video, for someone who never gotten into chaplains 🥰
"I read an audio book" I love watching your videos! 😂
I remember getting a metal jump pack chaplain that came with a power fist back in circa 2010 or so (?) but I either lost the crozius in the shop or it just wasn't in the blister pack. Very little skull imagery though, so he's just a sternguard vet with a power fist now
That plastic power claw on the metal model: I'm fairly certain it's from the 3e Chaos raptors.
I actually have a few of them with the metal raptors they came with that I must have bought as a kid.
The judiciar Chaplin was my favourite. The leather and sword look awesome
I have two chaplains, the one from the cover of the angels of death codex and the terminator chaplain you have with the red banner. That is a really cool collection, enjoyed the back story of your collecting and seeing them in glorious detail, when theyre all painted you should do an update vid. I like librarians and the first company, I wasn't sure I had a niche collection but one day I realised I'd been slowly infiltrated by members of the Inquisition from the Ordo Malleus, Ordo Hereticus, and Ordo Xenos, now there are eight of them.
Do you have a video on how you do your bases?! They look amazing
Are you going to get the Dark Angels interrogator chaplain? It's a really cool sculpt, and another double melee weapon one.
The pun "Merry Crozmas" was right there Jay.😅
I first watched this a few months ago and thought it was silly, but now I understand and am building my own collection haha! Currently hunting for Terminator Chaplains which are insanely expensive :(
That's a great collection of chaplains. The Dark Angel's Interrogator Chaplain is Interrogator Chaplain Seraphicus. He was only available in the Limited Edition 6th edition Dark Vengeance box. I've previously had him for 2 different Dark Angel's armies I've built. Now I'm on my 3rd.
For the rescessed backpack slots maybe consider giving them Mark 3 power packs? Might let you get them more snug into there.
I just bought my first Warhammer stuff some black templars they looked cool, now I'm stressing over what weapons to give people never played kill team or Warhammer I guess I should learn that before building and painting but found your channel fun to watch
Are you wanting to play killteam for full sized 40k? If you're starting will killteam, just grab some bolt pistols and chainswords if you want something reliable
You're missing the Blood Angels chaplain featured on the cover of the 2nd Ed Codex: Angels of Death. pretty damn good one too.
2nd edition terminator chaplain. Bad ass sculpt. I collect terminators and that’s one of my favourites!
There is another one in the Combat Patrol Dark Angels....but nice Collection of Chappys.
You just put out a challenge. Now I need to finish painting all my deathwatch chaplains and get some more. You should add a deathwatch shoulder pad to one of yours as well
Howed you do your Bases? They look amazing
Collect chaplains aswell got 1 painted and 1 in box. Best marine models by far.
I want to see a batrep of all chaplains vs something. Also REALLY want to see ya paint that rogue trader bike.
I recently got into 40K and chaplains are my favourite so far.
I've got #4, love him, got some 3d printed bits on him
I like your new intro music!! What is it?
Your tin banners look great. They are si thinn that they look like actual cloth. They match the scale of the miniatures.
I only have the one chaplain terentus, but he has a Grey knight left arm and shoulder pads, he's beautiful
Hate those random stray nerf bullets - surprisingly common around a couple grand worth of very fragile minis... That "Blllotchy" Chaplain is AMAZING!
Hi, how did you build the base of the minis, it seems easy but extremely cool!
That old metal Ultramarines chaplain is actually also Cassius, same as that Deathwatch one. It depicts him later in life, returned from his time with them.
Love the Chaplain collection. I only own the resin Terminator Chaplain, and he is probably my best painted miniature. I couldn't help but notice that Chaplain Cassius got done dirty. His original model (the other Ultramarine Chaplain you have, if I remember correctly) and lore description speak of him being extremely old, and half of his face basically being skeletal and held together by cybernetics. It's a shame that the newer deathwatch model gave him a fairly normal face.
Don't forget to get a dreadnought chaplain. So badass I love it
I collect chaplains as well. I just picked up the new Grimaldus putting me at 27 chaplains.
I think the Chaplain Dreadnought would be an awesome addition to your collection- the wings on the front of his sarcophagus are beautiful, and I think he’d make an awesome Black Templar.
And maybe just for contrast purposes, the original Dark Apostle that was sculpted by the same artist who sculpted Erebus for Forge World would look cool off to the side. I’m not a huge fan of the recent version, but the original is a beautifully detailed and imposing character. Just an idea.
Great collection, the old ones really threw me back to when I started all those years ago xD
PS: The Thumbnail says Chaplians
The older models look like mush with no paint iv been waiting for an old witch king I found on eBay to arrive for a weirdboy kitbash hopefully it paints up nicer then it looks
