*FAQ: [Read this before asking a question]*
*Q: I can't find my serial prefix on **ismyswitchpatched.com*
A: That means your switch is patched so the only way you could mod it is by installing a mod chip and changing the switches internal hardware. You could look at other CZcams videos or check this subReddit for help www.reddit.com/r/SwitchPirates/
*Q: What do I need to mod my switch, equipment-wise?*
A: An RCM Jig, USB-C Cable, Micro SD card, and a Micro SD card adapter/reader. Check the description for links to those.
*Q: Can I get banned for modding my switch?*
A: The mods that I listed in the description and in the video are not game breaking so there's a very low chance of getting banned. But, if you do something like pirate full games then you'll have a high chance of getting banned. Also, if you want to use your switch normally with no mods running you can just restart your switch and your mods won’t be active.
*Q: Can I play online after modding my switch?*
A: Yes, you can play online with these but only you will be able to see them since it's just your switch that's altered.
*Q: How do I turn my mods off?*
A: Just turn your switch completely off. To turn them back on, repeat the injection process. If you want to leave them on, just don't turn your switch completely off.
*Q: Can I do this on mac?*
A: You can try using switch.exploit.fortheusers.org/ instead of Tegra, let me know if that works for you.
*Q: Can I do this on the switch OLED?*
A: As of right now, you can only mod the switch OLED with physical hardware modifications.
*Q: Is there a way to view your album (pictures, screenshots, videos, etc.) with homebrew installed?*
A: Yup, hold R button then choose album.
*Q: What if I don't want to buy an RCM Jig?*
A: There's an alternative, which is using tin foil. It has a possibility of damaging your joycons but if you're interested I found this article: noirscape.github.io/RCM-Guide/ , or just look up other CZcams tutorials.
*Q: Why are you talking like a robot (LOL)?*
A: I had no idea how to screen record while filming myself at this point in my YT career so I pre-recorded this video and then made another video of me narrating what I was doing but tried to make it look like it was happening live... and I wrote out a script because I was nervous to miss important steps/tips.
You can use some paper clips or some metal hooks from a ornament as a free jig.
you actually dont have to download a program to reformat an sd card to fat32, you can right click it in the "This PC" screen and click reformat (on windows 11) i believe on windows 10 you might have to hit properties first, for anyone who doesnt want to download sketchy programs for one time use

Thank you for this simplified tutorial. SX OS was a blessing when you look at all the files that needs to be downloaded to run atmosphere, and how complicated it is.
For people who don't know, you only need skyline and arcropolis if you want to mod smash. Other than that good tutorial

I went to the arcropolis link, downloaded what was necessary, but I cannot find a folder named arcropolis? Help?

Becarefull you will be banned from your game account using this, yes permanent banned
@@trumpfuckbidentrumpfuckbid4859 if you’re just using it for skins and minor mods and not downloading full games then you’ll be fine. If you’re worried about being banned you can just restart your switch and the mods will be gone.

3ds runs surprisingly well most of the time , same goes with GameCube but you will need to overclock your switch , and anything 16 bit or lower runs perfectly
@@FFF-FFF-FFF Thank you for responding but I have a device now that can do Dreamcast, PSP, Saturn, 3DO, some GameCube, and even some PS2 very well, without overclocking, and it was $99.

@@toasty3719 Retroid Pocket 2+, but they came out with a new version, same chipset, called the Retroid Pocket 3 with a bigger screen. I would buy the RP3, but now I have a Steam Deck and don't need it.
Also note, when I say "some" that means some games will run well, not everything. I think there may be some performance Google docs on these devices out there on the interwebs somewhere which will give you an idea on what to expect.

Hey there! Great tutorial but I am having troubles at the very end and was wondering if you could help me out! So everything works until I hit "Inject Payload" and then the switch disconnects from the CPU for a second. It seems to do this every time the switch enters sleep mode. Is there a way to keep it connected? Not sure if this is a computer problem but Thank You!
Update: Got it to go through by using Hatake as the payloader instead of the fusee.bin. But thank you for the awesome video!
its suppose to disconnect when u upload the payload. that's right.
...after that, the switch should turn on and show the Arcropolis load up by it's self.

Hi, I'm modding my switch for the first time just to install the 'no background music' mod for ACNH. Your video looks super easy and I'm excited to try it but I'm scared I'll lose my two years of ACNH game save data. Is there any risks of it being deleted? Do I need to save my game data to my system memory or my sd card? Thanks heaps for your video!

So if I have data on my SD card and format it to FAT32, it will delete everything on it right? If you back up the files and put them back on to the SD card, will it work the same as it did before and have all of your data?
Correct, that's why it's important to back everything up before. It'll work the same as it did before and have all your data when you put everything back on your SD card.

Please create more Nintendo switch videos. You're very good at them. I appreciated this and I'm currently trying to use a 500 GB SD card on my modded Nintendo switch. I purchased a modded Nintendo switch from eBay with pre-installed atmosphere. Wish me luck that it's a simple process for me to add games and skins. You're awesome! Keep it up!

Just a word of warning….. you can mod your switch, edit save files etc & play online, but you definately risk getting your console banned if you do as above.
Some things are higher risk than others. For example piracy is a gauranteed ban if you go online.
The online really safe way to mod your switch & enjoy online is by creating an emummc(which emulates your switch operating system although stays seperate), & keeping that either offline, or using measures to prevent it connecting to nintendo, like incognito(which blanks your serial) or 90dns which is a manual dns setting you can enter that redirects any communication sent to nintendo. Using the second method still allows you to connect to homebrew services online.
Thank you for a more detailed response. Yes what you say is true, for gamebreaking mods/hacks. Also like you said if you’re using pirated games then you’re definitely going to get banned online. For skins you’re less likely to get banned but if you want to take an extra step of precaution then yes what you said is exactly true and helpful.

Agree that skins and emulation etc currently the odds are very low youl get banned, but their are reports long ago of getting banned for less.

Good tut, but unfortunately about 80% (if not more) switch owners have a patched system. It was only early/mid v1 units that had the tegra chip exploit. Late v1 and all v2 and new OLED units are impossible to mod (for now).
I went to gamestop to get a refurbished switch for my son... Opened the box and it turns out that they gave me a day 1 unpatched one! So that led me straight to tutorials. Sorry son! This is daddy's toy now!

Thank you for the tutorial, but I'm having an issue with the process and I'm not sure what to do.
I have everything down up until the injecting payload process. For some reason, when I inject the payload, it states that "Payload successfully injected" but then immediately states "RCM device disconnected." This happens so fast that atmosphere has no time to boot up; the logo for atmosphere comes on but then it goes to black and turns on my switch normally. I'm not sure what to do. Thank you again!

me to when it boots back up and i go into albums my homebrew is there but i never clicked inject payloads on my pc
This is normal, after injecting your switch the Tegra RCM will say it's disconnected. After that, the switch will boot like normal and your mods will be there. Verify your mods by going to the album section. If they're not there, then something went wrong during the process.

Honestly I didn't expect this to work I accidentally updated my software on my switch which cancelled out atmosphere I've been looking ways how to redownload it and you your tutorial worked I was able to get my atmosphere working I wish I could do more for you than subscribe you honestly need more recognition

Your welcome and also there has been a new system update on my switch and now when I setup atmosphere it doesn't work say's (package 1 has not been found) I'm not sure if I'm correct but the new system firmware doesn't support atmosphere the version is 16.0.0 so I think I have to wait for the next update of Atmosphere or an older model I'm not really sure but if you know could you please tell me?

However, I would like to know where you pulled the fusee.bin file from to put on your desktop? - thanks.
You can get the fusee.bin file from the atmosphere download page. It should be underneath the zip file labeled fusee.bin download that and drag it to wherever you’d like it then open tegrarcm and locate the fusee.bin and select it and then proceed with the injection process.

I’m stuck on the tegra step. Every time I try to press power and plus at the same time, the switch just turns on and rcm isn’t recognized… any tips?
@@zachclark2141 so when it turns on, just leave your jig in the slot. Turn off the switch and do the "power button and volume up" thing again, and Tegra should recognize it as RCM
I'm having the same rcm issue. No matter how many times I try it doesn't recognize it

great tutorial.but you should consider do backup of your nand.then create emunand partition.install lockpick program .dump your switch keys.and set dns for internet connection.

One question to that, is there a specific reason to not get an RCM loader?
With that you can usually skip the TegraRcm step and also boot your switch to hekate even when you are not infornt of a pc.
So maby just a confy plus?
I mean they cost around 10$ and already have an RCM jig on it.

Ur voice reminds me of that youtuber "Erin Plays". LOL Great vid BTW I updated mine last night and then it wouldn't boot. I keep getting "Fatel Error: [NXBOOT] Unable to identify package1!" That's what I HATE about Atmoshere. I had mine working flawless on 12.0.1 with the Tinfoil working and all that. But no, I wanted to play this certain game and now I have to figure out what the hell is going on. I hope SXOS comes back, but I know it most likely won't. SAD, SAD day....
