Part 3 of an incredible Solo
Pandit ji is the living descendent and 6th generation of Benaresi Tabla players, hailing directly from Pandit Ram Sahai ji, the founder of the Benares style of Tabla playing.
Pandit ji has been an international performer for over 30 years and is considered to be one of the greatest Tabla players alive today.
Accompanied here by the fantastic Pandit Dharamnath Mishra ji on Harmonium.

The tonal quality in sanju jee s tabla is really rich , elegant and rare in benaras baaj. It is sharp,subtle and at the same time ecstatic.

It may have a tiny bit to do with him using kolkotta tabla instead of Benares type. Chaati especially.
