its ok kiddies we have ARB air lockers!!
yayyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love my ARB air lockers I will never own a 4x4 without them !!!
Hi everyone, great to see so many questions about our Air Lockers. Your best bet is to contact your nearest stockist who'll be happy to answer any questions you may have. You can find your nearest stockist on our website using the store locator.
Yes I have seen this demonstration in the cold. They use them alot in Iceland on their 4x4 expeditions. They realy drive them hard also. So its a very valid test.
Hi Mackayshuffler, driver experience is certainly a major factor for successful off road driving. Additionally though, the ability to lock one (or both) differentials will provide better traction and control whilst minimising track damage by preventing wheel spin. Diff locks also reduce the driver's reliance on momentum to successfully negotiate difficult sections of track which means vehicle damage is also less likely.
ARB's engineering department is equipped with a freezer and an oven for extreme temperature testing. Check out Top Gear's expedition to the North Pole. The Arctic Truck's vehicles were equipped with ARB Air Lockers.
I have these with the LTR OME shocks on my Landrover. ilynchy I saved a little cash by doing both at the same time. The way they are set up they engage the rear first then lastly the front. Its electricly set up like this in the switches. Just remember once the front is engaged steering is almost imposible without powersteering. People who buy one locker get the rear. I know people with smaller cars and large trailer boats use rear sets to help them pull out on the boat ramps.
@TheCesarGuerrero LSD is limited slip, which means it still allows some slip between left and right. In most offroad situations, you want both left and right wheels at the same speed so they share torque 50/50.
Go Patrol!
The answers to these questions vary from vehicle to vehicle. We recommend you contact your local ARB distributor to discuss your requirements. You can find a worldwide store locator on our website.
@nathanfiorano1 the 200 series is always running in 4H, but I believe the power is split 40/60 front and rear. The "locking differential" you're referring to just locks the centre driveshaft to change the power split to 50/50. This is a common marketing tool used by salesmen to make you think you have locking diffs, when in fact you'll find it only has LSDs. The true diff locker ensures the left and right wheel on the same axel get the same amount of torque, and rotate together.
@canreal ARB has Air Lockers available for this vehicle, but will need more information to identify the correct part numbers. Please contact your local ARB distributor for more information.
ARB air lockers is best!!!
Awsome!!
how much do the locker cost to be installed also if you just got one locker would you get front on rear? is it not worth just getting one? do u save money getting two at once?
@MrTrinifella Nope. Put it in the front, unless your truck has a factory locker in front. The front tires have more traction normally because of the engine weight, where the rear tires just have an empty bed over them. My suggestion. I would love to get one of these for my 07 Ram 4x4, but Im sure they are thousands of dollars, and im not working right now :(
Hi there, you'll need to contact your local ARB store/stockist for pricing.
lol Thats so bloody true......
I currently own a Ford Ranger xlt 2007 model and im wondering if i was to put one air locker in the rear diff would it make any sense?
why is there a separate button for air compression? what does that button do and what purpose does it serve?
ARB Air Lucka!
So will butting your foot on the Brake, most times :-)
hey mate im in australia and was wondering the prices on this?
I bought the RD139 for my Dodge with the AAM 11.5 axle, but it can't be installed because the tapered roller bearing on the crown side/ring gear side doesn't fit, it's too large. I called ARB USA and they told me that the bearing was the OEM tapered roller bearing. The OEM bearing fits on the land with an air gap. We mic'd the dimensions of the factory lsd vs. the air locker, and they are differnt dimensions. Is this normal, or does the Dodge without a factory lsd use different bearings?
how much is it for the mitsubishi triton 2012 ?
is arb locker sold in gulf u.a.e,oman or saudia arabia?
whats the diffrence between the air locker and LSD??
do you need the compressor on the whole time you have the locks on, or is it just to lock them up?
+BigDirtyBasterd No you don't. The compressor will run for a brief moment to supply a small burst of high pressure air.
Cool, do they make one you can run a air hose off of?
I want them for my toyota but there just so expensive :'(
How fast I can go with the air locker on ?
dan666mega Air Lockers will not affect the top speed of your vehicle when engaged.
@R1PBROCK
with lockers you dont need a winch ;)
I want 2ps for Land Cruiser m 1996
PEOPLE!!! This isn't an offroad forum or the customer service line at ARB. Do a few minutes of research online before making yourself look like a moron asking stupid questions in the comment section of a product video. PLEASE!
