That sounds wonderful and I wish I could say those things but it's difficult to say them to a surly, hypercritical man who doesn't say anything similar to the woman. A man who consistently berates and trashes his partner will never hear those things.
They're an exchangevil for evil but overcome evil with good can also be done exchange insult for insult but overcome with good. Be the best you can be for him. That will be the reflection people see of you.

It's sad that in order to be partnered with a straight man, women have to pretend to need rescuing; that they have to pretend to be less capable than they are just to make a man feel "like a man." Tragic. I'm not sure women today have the time or the desire to do this, probably why there are so many single people out there. On the other hand, women aren't wasting valuable time building up a man's ego, time that is better invested building herself up; which, of course, has a much bigger payoff. If I have to pretend to be in need of rescuing in order to attract him, I'll pass. This is idiocy. It feels like this video was made in 1953. It's not a woman's responsibility to make a man "feel" like a man, get real. If a man doesn't feel like a man on his own, he's not a developed person, and won't make a good partner. Ladies, if the man you're dating needs you to validate him, RUN. Unless you want to pander to him for the rest of your "relationship," seek the company of complete people who know who they are, who are comfortable with who they are, and who can ADD to your life without sucking your energy dry. @@NewYorkNadia Why is it tragic to understand and appreciate the way the male mind and heart is designed? As a woman, you would expect and even insist that the man you are with cater to your needs both emotional and physical. Why would you not do the same for him? And it absolutely is a woman's responsibility to care for her man by saying/doing things that will build him up - just as it is his responsibility to do the same for her. If you consider such things to be a waste of time, then a relationship is probably not the right thing for you since it requires effort on both sides.

One time a guy was with me on this narrow and long escalator with his arm around me which made me feel unstable and I started grabbing on to the hand rails. And he looked me in the eyes and said “I won’t let you fall” with the most confident, sure-of-himself tone and I could feel that he meant it. And with just that small remark I suddenly felt safer. It’s really important for me to feel safe in his presence.
3) To hear him call any part of me soft, my hair, my skin, if he calls me soft-hearted, if he tells me I have a gentle touch. I like to feel delicate, not weak or a pushover, but delicate because if he perceives me as something that contrasts with his strong manliness then I feel that he’s attracted to me, which is very validating for me.

Your mom is sooo cool. So few people in a relationship take the effort to build each other up. No surprise that divorce is at an all-time high. So sad.
Joy and Jungles Divorce is at an all-time high because there’s no longer any need for marriage. Marriages lasted much longer in the past because women were financially dependent on men. That’s no longer the case, so less and less women have a vested interest in keeping a marriage going. What’s the point? Especially if you’ve grown apart or are no longer in love with your mate. Couples can give each other power of attorney and can also will each other assets if they wish, no marriage needed, and way less pressure. The idea of marriage is very sweet but also impractical in today’s world. My two cents.

"I've got this" When I'm stressing over something. It just melts off all my muscle tension and gives me a warm realization that someone has my back and focus on the fact that I can trust him to take care of it and therefore me.

I love it when someone asks me questions about me. It shows that the have a genuine interest in who I am and that they've put effort into thinking about me. I like hearing accolades, but there's nothing like someone asking me about what I'm thinking and feeling. When they show that they are actively interested in my answers that feels amazing :)

Great talk!!!!! You are right on and I laughed to hear you describe how good you feel when your woman says those three phrases to you!
I saw these two sentences in someones comment and I totally agree:
"I love that about you" ...Because adding that in relation to one of my distinct characteristics makes me feel like I am being valued for the individual that I am
"What do you think about that" ...Because it makes me feel like me and my opinions are an important part in that person's life.
Also, I love it when a guy tells me:
1. 'hey, it's okay to not always be okay. I'm here for you.' I love that, because I have the tendency to always want to do well and it's exhausting and occasionally, I just need to take a breath and rest. It is my challenge to take care of myself, more and better.
2. You are so much stronger than you think you are.
3. I caught myself smiling and realized I was thinking of you.
And I love it when he shows me or someone else that he is my boyfriend and I'm his girlfriend. Whether that is by verbalizing it or putting his arm around me/putting his hand on the small of my back/holding hands, all of these feel great.
I also really love it when he verbalizes that he likes taking care of me (in the small things, too).
