The first episode of the newest Ultra series (ウルトラマン) following Ultraman Blazar has released on Tsyuburaya's official English CZcams channel both with subs and dubbed.
In this episode we're introduced to Yuma Hize and his robot partener YouPi

timer thing:
ultraman can only be ultraman for three ultra-minutes, so the ultra-timer (which is just there cuz bro was ultra-filming) shows us that those three ultra-minutes dont have to be three ultra-minutes exactly!
Apparently both blazaar and arc's timer indicates their health, not the traditional three minutes thing

Question: If you were forced/abducted/transported to live a Ultraman show, which one would you want to be in? Would you join their Defense Force? You would still be aware that the new world you live in is an Ultraman show.
Edit: if it wasn't answered, the timer bit was probably a nod to Color Timer Time Limit Ultramen/women, used to be under, they can only be materialized on Earth for 3 minutes.
wanted to clarify the ultraman universe thing:
ultraman has its own multiverse and a lot of the ultraman shows are in different universes, for example Ultraman Blazar is in a different universe than lets say Ultraman Z.
There are instances of an Ultraman show where they take place on the same earth for example, the earth that the OG Ultraman where a lot of the showa era ultra's coincide + mebius, Tiga and Dyna share an Earth, same with Trigger and Decker, and Nexus is a sequel to The Next
the entirety of the Zero movies and UGF series takes place in multiple universes and kinda sets up the multiverse concept for the Ultraman series
The timer is to show that ultra's fight within the ball park of 3 mins or so

At first i thought it was a regular ass 3 minutes color timer.
But when you look at it carefully, the countdown done weird, sometimes it moves normally, sometimes it went slower on different scene.
It might be a plot device down the line
It might be the ultraman jack elements, but this show feels both classic and fresh

So happy we got another simuldub but a little worried they split it off to its own channel just because of how much lower the total views are.. but hopefully this doesn't impact future series ;-;

2:27 Ultraman actually has its own multiverse. Otherwise, several things just wouldn't make sense, like Japan having like 50 different anti-kaiju defense teams. Or even stuff like some seasons clearly establishing that kaiju live on Earth, with others showing kaiju being created by a villain.
While Blazar was a perfect ultra series for grown up fans.
Ultraman Arc has this really nice countryside comfy vibe to it.
The people that they have been getting to do these English dubs, I’ve never heard of any of them, since I don’t watch anime, and I have no plans to. Eric Kelso should do more Ultraman English dubs as Ultraman zero.

Tsuburaya did make an English screen text version of Blazar, but it was hidden on the Ultraman Connection website so hardly anyone watched it

The filter they used make it feel like it’s a flashback or dream. At least he isn’t clueless and energetic like the other two shows recent protagonist.

Don’t say I didn’t warn you, but I highly suspect that the Parasite will be able to control humans (or at the bare minimum we’re told so), and that the parasite monster will be able to do more than just make monsters bigger in the future.
Why do I think so? The spheres in Ultraman Dyna & Decker.

If you could adapt any kamen rider 8nto thr west, what season would you chose?
It has been a longtime joke among fans that the Ultraman's fighting time limit is only three minutes, but in the show it looks as if he is fighting for more than that.
By showing Ultraman's fight scene in one shot, they explained the three-minute time limit role without having the characters mentioning out loud. Also they are countering those jokes by showing Ultraman quickly defeating his enemy.
Dub is cool and accurate, but it’s out of sync since they’re trying to match the lips of an entirely different language. Japan have these tengu mask and various adult cultural festival. They’re very open to reference it in ultraman. Meanwhile, the west tries to cancel the cartoon looney tunes skunk, Japanese anime embrace worse characters.

The coffee guy is definitely going to be evil for at least the beginning. Something says the real defense team is not that useful mainly because they don't have Arc. They're going to be plotting something sinister like maybe steal Arc cube arsenals. The aliens may already control them.
We got AbareRed as the chief, which means the past 5 reiwa series all feature a Toku alumni in the captain role. The last time that happen was with Red Falcon who succeeded Tachibana. Even the lead girl is also from Kamen Rider Ghost, who recently married, so no shipping. Maybe she’ll be the elder sister of the group to yuma and the coffee guy.
Whoever is doing Western Marketing over Tsyuburaya needs a raise and big ol hug.
