Agree. We all have our own opinion. But equally it's re elusive butterflies .. bees or Robins that are elusive. Just are here to remind us of our loved ones.. DONT BE concerned..
A local radio station used to play this in 1991. It was my first year in College. I remember waking up to this song. I fell in love with it. I still think it’s one of the most beautiful songs. Brings back such great memories.
This song is so beautiful it brings tears to my eyes I could remember this song years ago when I was a kid I am ao happy I grew up in the 60 they don't make music like this anymore ❤❤
I think songs like this are a foretaste of the heavenly home we all want to be in when we pass away. Great visuals in this masterpiece from the 1960`s.😊
This is one of the most beautiful songs during that era. His voice and the arrangement are perfect. If I'm having a hard day, this song sets things right. Back in the day, way before the Internet and only AM radio, I had to search those huge books at Tower Records until I found this 45!! But worth every minute. I still have that 45 today. Long Live Tower Records
I remember as a kid hearing this on the radio and not really understanding it at the time, but even then I realized it sounded different than any other pop song in the 60s. Now, I can see it was a gift from God, one of the most beautiful, simple melodies ever written, and only gets better with time.
@@roblabow9702 Ever heard of ‘separation of church and state’??? The CHOICE to believe in God was part of the foundation upon which the U.S. was formed. Why do you think we split from England?
This song was out when I was younger. Says all I felt. I use to wonder why people waited until their old to write, now I know why, I have all the time in the world to write. This song and this video are calling me to write my dreams. I tried once and it seemed too hard. Meow, I need to try again, this time don't stop.
Was asked what was my most favorite song of all time, and after thinking about it for a long while this song popped into my head as I had not heard it in years! I found it, revived it for myself, and now I'm glad to see it here. Thank you!
Oh, yay! I woke up to see that cozy's done one of my favorite songs of all time. I have always utterly loved this song with its hints of fairy tale magic, true love and princes pursuing princesses. Hey, I was only eight in 1966. But all these decades later, it's retained that quality for me. Thank you for capturing its spirit so well. And for showing the handsome prince. Appreciate it.
The song is also one of my favorites; I was in Jr. High when the song was released. In my videos, from the male point of view, I normally show the male when he speaks in the "first person".
This is the best video to this GREAT song that I have yet to see. The late great Jack Nietzsche produced and arranged the strings. Bob Lind on acoustic, Carol Kaye on bass, Henry Diltz on banjo, Leon Russell on piano, Hal Blaine on drums, Sum Yung Guy on tambourine. Not sure who sings back up harmony on the ending words of each chorus, "butterfly of love." Sounds female. Maybe Sum Yung Chik.
I should also tell you that this song and the Breads song If makes me think of my oldest sister, Joane'. She died in January 2003. Point- don't tell people bad thing about habits, or life styles of the deceased. It hurts their feelings. Have a heart.
1st. I love this song. I think we are all chasing love one way or another. 2nd. I love the video - So many butterflies. 3rd. The models are lovely and really adds to the "chasing the elusive butterfly of love!"
The lyrics to this song are great, but what really made it shine was that Richard Bock, listed as the producer, brought in Jack Nitzsche, who is best known for helping Phil Spector create the "wall of sound", do the arrangements and scoring of the track, but in a little subtler way than he did for Phil on other 60's hits. IMHO Jack Nailed it on this one
@@gainsbourg66 I don't agree with your assessment, But you are certainly entitled to it. Everyone's ears, their brains aural processing, their audio equipment's quality, source material etc. are all different, Even though this was recorded 60 years ago I find it quite balanced and clean myself. I took the audio track from YT and re-sampled it at 320kbs in MP3 instead of the common 128kbsMP3. to decompress it as much as possible. That reveals sounds that are "hidden" behind other sounds to save space o produce a smaller file. The compression also reduces the separation for the same purpose.Yes, there are a couple sub-optimal examples and the mono mixes for radio and 45's especially ARE muddy. In its "restored" form my system, ears, and brain find it very pleasing, a nice reminder of when I was 16! If interested in the MP3 process you can find a good description on Wikipedia. I did this to get the best sounding file I could get on MP3 to load it into my vehicles sound system which also has SRS Labs Sound Retreival System which adds even more improvement. I have close to 1500 tracks in it, so it's ALL music I like with no talking and commercials in between!
Beautiful song. Its in my opinion re loved ones passing .. chasing , being close despite being in heaven.... Beautiful as we they remind us always. The little butterflies.. are our nets of wonder..cant catch them. As they are safe and flitting around free .. they are the bright elusive butterflies of love and we wake up with that beauty around us 💛.. they may have passed but we wake up every morning and go about our day. Our lost ones are truly with us... . Yes 4 tops version is equally good
This song reminds me of my childhood. They don’t make songs like this anymore. Love this song.
My connection with my son who have left this Earth is what I, personally, think about when I listen to this beautiful song.

True
You are so right. I don’t know why but this song popped back into my mind and I can’t stop listening to it !
Released December 1965. A timeless classic.
Past love lost, I’m pursuing something I’m not sure of . Now I hear this and think of you❤
I’ve listened to this beautiful ballad since it came out over 60 years ago.
Simply one of the best songs from that era, or ever.
This made me feel old...and grateful to be so.
Always liked this song and with these beautiful women it’s even better!
Yes, absolutely 😍

Exactly, America was about freedom, of course, but the primary driving force of America was we believe in God.😊

@@dr.jamesolack8504 I concur. I think the point we would agree on is that the government cannot enforce a state religion.
Such a beautiful song brings back so many beautiful memories
I recovered this beautiful song half a year ago. And with this video it is still more beautiful.👏
Some of the most evocative lyrics in music. Even after nearly 60 years…..
This beautiful song weeps nostalgia, and a longing for days long ago ❤

Only this remix is dreadful. Tambourine mixed down and very thin snare mixed up.

Nice video but dreadful remix of the song. The tambourine has been mixed right down and stick-like snare mixed up.
