    I'm doing this exact setup and all the NMEA-2000 starter kits I can see come with 3 Ts, 1drop lead, and a power cable but not a red power T like you have. Can any of the Ts be a power T?

      @Al ex, yes that’s right. It’s red for discrimination.

    Hello. I have a 2008 F115TLR Yamaha Four Stroke. Do I just need the 120-37 cable, or do I need to buy the Nema Kit, too? Thank you!

    • @DainichiKichi
      @DainichiKichi  Před 3 lety

      @bayouhoundtv you’ll need both. The cable connects the computer from the outboard to the “backbone” which is the Nema kit, your nema compatible devices then connect to the backbone.

    Don't suppose, it's possible to hook up to a 2-stroke from 97 ?

      @DainichiKichi  Před 3 lety

      Nope, 2 strokes don’t have the capability for NMEA.

    Hi! Does your chartplotter get all its power from that cable that goes from the NMEA2k backbone or do you have a separate power cable running to your chartplotter?

    • @DainichiKichi
      @DainichiKichi  Před 2 lety

      It gets the data from a cable that connects from the plotter to the back bone.

    • @DanielSuran

      @DainichiKichi  Před 2 lety +1

      @@DanielSuran I misunderstood what you asked originally, yes the plotter needs its own power source so there is a separate power cable for it.

      I found this text on a support site @@DainichiKichi
      “Yes, any NMEA 2000 network needs power. A large amount of NMEA 2000 devices are powered solely from the backbone, and this power is used to operate the device. Whilst this is the case for most devices, not all devices are powered from the NMEA 2000 network completely. Some devices pull too much current from the network and due to the NMEA regulations on NMEA 2000 networks, they must be powered from their own supply.”

    @montauk man - does the motor automatically send the trim / tilt state to the NMEA 2000 or is anything special required to get the Trim / Tilt to display?

    • @DainichiKichi
      @DainichiKichi  Před 3 lety

      I’ve never paid attention to see if the T&T input is on the screen. I just turn my head around to look at the motor if I need to see it.

      You have to join the pink cables in order to have trim over nmea2000, if you google it you will find detailed images.
