oh well, that's why Umbria is the new Tuscany. This is the list of VIP flying to Umbria over the weekend or owning a property: Elton John, Lady Gaga, Colin Firth, Gwyneth Paltrow, Liv Tyler, Beckham, Terry Gilliam, Ralph Fiennes, George Lucas and De Niro. Ed Sheeran is the newest addition, he has a property near Paciano where he's also planning to build a recording studio.

Even if I'm not from Umbria I can say finally big foreign tourism is discovering this region. Definitely late by my italian point of view considering that Umbria is more medieval, rustic and authentic than more reknown Toscana. Landscapes are totally similar and probably kitchen is even better. Love it!

I am jealous! Oh well, for now I will continue to live my dreams through you. Thank you so much for sharing this experience. As you have been for me, Stanley Tucci has also been part of my drive to retire in Italy. Who knew that Venice was known for duck? Who knew that the Niccone river valley was the center of the universe. I told you when I met you that it felt like I was meeting a celebrity. I hope soon to be attending this event every year. We were lucky enough to stay in Montone for several days during our 6 week tour of Umbria by motorcycle just a few weeks ago. It was a highlight of our tour and a favourite place to move too if we ever manage to do so. I think we also sat beside Terry during our trip.

Now if I were Stanley I'd love to visit that metal smiths shop and see the man in action! What an awesome workshop! 😍 Tucci is a really accomplished artist. This must have been a breath of fresh air for him. Both humbling and hilarious and heartfelt. I'm sure that award is the most artful one he owns and will have a prize place in his home.

Fabulous! Thank you much for sharing this event and the town, and catching the wedding group was great! The blacksmith shop was another treat. Being interested in culture and history, suspect you've heard of Braccio da Montone who once owned the castle in Montone before being exiled from Perugia and becoming a late medieval era mercenary general. Also, I recall your video of the ruins and a vineyard that was shown earlier this year, and suspect that is the location you're referring to in this video? A great perspective to have if this is accurate, much appreciate being able to learn the lay of the area so to speak. Cheers and take care! 😎🥂👍

A really great interesting video. We were in Montone on a very quiet Sunday in early Sept 2019 and had a lovely lunch at the Erba Luna ristorante. We love Stanley Tucci and especially enjoyed his fairly recent BBC series on Italy.

Thanks Nick, so good to see some of the context for the properties you show. Montone a beautiful town exemplifying so many small towns around Central/Southern Italy overflowing with of character.
Would love to see the blacksmith's, an example of how Italy excels in artisanal skills at typically reasonable prices; I've a graceful hand crafted 6m wrought iron railing that cost me just €1300 installed, a price and quality that back in blighty would surely have been unobtainable or at least 10x more expensive. Coming to Italy was the best decision I made.

A truly enjoyable video! It's nice to see these various pieces of Italian life (the metal worker's shop, the wedding passeggiata, and the film festival ceremony). Only in a small town would the fireworks interrupt the speaker. However, I was sold with the opening shot of the via in Montone. A beautiful place. Nick, grazie mille!
