I love seeing all this GT content! You killed it Carve Crew!
Great video, added to my Onewheel Tech watch list for when I get to badger my own board.
I still don't understand why FM doesn't add silicon around the plugs from factory. Seems like such an easy thing to do and have happy customers...
They seem to not care about happy customers, just the number of them
They need that repair $$$
Dee’s nuts 😂
Great video, feel more confident to do this now! Glad to know there's a great resource in southern Wisco also, just in case 🤞
You got this👊🏼
I’ve got a gt and I’ve ridden my board in a good bit of rain and had no issues
You sir are a wizard 🧙♂️!!
🥸
Thanks for the video. I just got done badgering mine with the guidance of your instructions
Thanks for watching! Did it hold air for you when you tested?
@@carvecreative yup! Two minutes just like you said.
Wow… The XR took all day. This is a game changer haha 🔥🔥🔥
So much easier than the XR!
Great video!
Thanks Chris!
Woah that was way easier than I thought it would be
Thanks for the kind words man!
Hello, is this only required for the first batch of gTs ? Was planning on ordering one today !
Nice, they made access to cleaning and repairs alot easier with the GT! Any chance Carve has a tire change on deck??
Once we have a tire for GT it’ll happen ASAP
Video idea: How to get Super EPIC Onewheel footage 🤔
Random question: does that DeWalt have variable speed control? Any issues with accidentally stripping the screws when using it?
There’s 2 versions of this drill. I use the cheaper one and it doesn’t have any torque settings. I believe the more expensive version does. I have never had an issue with stripping out screw heads. It’s not very powerful and seems to be perfect for taking these boards apart.
You think plumbing thread tape would be a good option instead of the silicon on the threads? Might be more well relieved on warranty.
No because the leak is around the base of the connectors once you get those nuts off you’ll see.
could you do a onewheel GT battery swap? not seeing anyone doing those yet thanks
Thanks for the suggestion! Right now we don’t have any plug and play GT battery options or we’d be on it!
So I have a question, after watching the video, I definitely want to water proof my GT I just received. Now maybe there is an obvious answer to this but couldn't I just remove the plastic but and place a foam/silicone O-Ring in between the nut and the housing? Let me know your thoughts. Thank you
You could try that! It might work but make sure it’s the right size.
I have a unused badger XR kit. Do you think the vents stickers are the same size?
I was figuring I could mod my sniffer like Robert did on the Orig Badgerwheel video.
Yeah vent port covers are the same! You’ll be good
Did you have to run silicon along/between the lid and the housing?
Not if it isn’t leaking from the leak test. They did a better job this time around. Pint used to leak sometimes on at the cover in one area but I haven’t seen it on the 4 GTs that I’ve checked.
The video was great, the exposure was too dark. Keep up the good work!
Thanks Norm!
Does Badgering without opening the unpenning the control boxes void the warranty?
According to FM yes . That's what the people who make these videos failed to mention anytime you remove any of that stuff off of it and take it apart you just avoided it. End of the story don't believe me try it
Is the procedure basically the same for a Pint? The design of the controller looks very similar.
Essentially it is but I have seen the pint cover gaskets fail multiple times. I also run silicone along the cover gaskets for the pint every badger.
Nice! So disconnecting the motor should be good, but you brick the board if you disconnect the BMS and battery. Right? Just making sure to be clear.
Correct
Yeah. Motor plus is all good
Matt knows what’s up.
Also, is dielectric grease ever used on the connectors?
I love dielectric grease but I would not use it here as it could cause arching / continuity between pins.
Dielectric grease is better for a single pole DC application. Hope this helps.
10:10 He puts dialectic grease on connectors.
does this void the warranty?
You’re not breaking either of the warranty stickers. FM has now said it’s ok to change the tire. You’re not doing anything more invasive than what a tire change entails. That being said, we cannot guarantee that future motion is ok with doing this. You would have to contact them to be sure.
What do you guys charge for a badger service on the GT?
Sent you a message!
@@carvecreative would love to know also!
I’m afraid of bricking somehow it if I do it myself. I thought you couldn’t unplug anything without bricking it

Wait, Wisconsin!?
Yes sir! We’re all from Wisco!
Those Carve guys is so hot. 💯❤️🔥🤙🏼
😂🙏🏼
Will it brick the board if you unplug the battery in the bagger process?
There is no need to unplug the battery!
4:22 ;)
😆🥰🤘🏽
was that johnny depp in the backround?
Bruh! If I can't send my GT directly to you for this to be done... I'm screwed 😬🙄
It’s very easy. You can do it!
@@carvecreative🙄😒
Why not save 2 hrs and just silicone everything? I mean, its $5 tube of silicone....if ya need to get it apart, just cut it and put more on it
Their quality is such trash. I went to remove my sensor pad connection and half of it just shattered off. I managed to glue that connection back on and seal it but jesus fucking christ future motion get your shit together.
Does this void the warranty?
You’re technically not breaking those warranty void stickers. They have now said it’s ok to change the tires which would take the board apart up until this point. My advice would be if you have to send the board in under warranty maybe peel the silicone out just to be safe.
%100
I would advise against. Fm clearly considers this alterations . Folks wanna hustle everyone. Get.the facts or suffer the same fate.m
