@@davidparlee3102 I'm not sure if it would top the '66 Johnson 20hp. I just ran my '73 Johnson 20hp today on the same boat in the same conditions with the same prop. The 20hp had the edge by only about 0.1-0.2 mph at most. Performance was almost identical. The 20hp only has about 115psi of compression compared to the 150+psi on this 18 with the 25hp head. I unfortunately have not gotten a hold of any 100LL to try in this motor to see if it would benefit. I will find out one of these days.
@oldjohnnyrude8404 Be fun to find out with the fuel. 100LL has a completely different smell even burned too. Almost a clean smell. I forget the compression on my FD-20, and it's 500 miles south of me now. Had that one at Tomahawk this past summer.
@@ALVintageOutboards Awesome! I'm still looking for a '66 Fastwin. That's one of the years I don't have in the Jetstream cowl Fastwins / Sportsters. I hope yours turns out to be a good one. Thanks for watching!
@@ALVintageOutboards Cadillac is about an hour from our up north cabin. It's about 3.5 hours each way from home down state though. It looks good. I saw it on FB. Nice find! I hope it turns out to be a top notch runner!
she's a runner for sure. Sounds like it is winding up pretty good, wondering what prop you have on it, might be worth trying the next size up in pitch...
Those older motors are always fun.
Yes, they are. This one turned out to be a good one and I believe I will run it quite a bit. Thanks for watching!
@oldjohnnyrude8404 I wonder if the combination with your motor with the 25 hp head would end up stronger than the 1966 FD-20 I've got? Maybe a bit?

Nice run! I'm heading to Cadillac now to pick up that 1966- Evinrude 18hp that's been on there for awhile. Made a pretty decent deal with the guy 😎

@@oldjohnnyrude8404 it was not too far from your neck of the woods, I think 🤔. Cadillac was a four hour rounder for me

Thank you. Yes, she's a runner. I'm running a 9.25x11P prop on this motor. I think it's right where it needs to be. Thanks for watching!
That's fast for 18 horses.
Yes, it is performing well. I'm pretty pleased with this one. Thanks for watching!
18 HO!!
Yessir! That's the one! Thanks for watching, Trevor!
would sound better if you put two of them on her !
Agreed! Thinking strongly of doing just that with my other FD. Thanks for watching!
