    In this video, I will show you how to make a storage system for a pickup truck. Each cargo carrier is designed with one drawer. This system locks into position with a horizontal panel that slides into the rear bracket of the two storage boxes. The wheel wells prevent boxes from moving forward. To remove the storage system, simply raise the real panel. This particular bed storage is designed to fit my 2020-2021 Chevrolet Silverado. I believe the GMC Denali has the same bed as well.

      You don’t need fancy tools to make stuff like this. I made these about 6 years ago without drawers. The only tools I used was a cheap table and a drill. And a 1/2 sheet of plywood.

      Not true. I have all that stuff, and I have yet to build it. The real factor is how motivated you are in making them.

    Enjoyed the video. I have all your tools and more but your project is more than I need. Just a 2x10 to fit in the GM slots with a couple of tie-downs. During the recent power outage in Houston (May 2024), I was carrying propane tanks to and from several locations to get them filled or exchanged so I could run my generator. Using your idea, I will be building something to make hauling my tanks easier in the GMC 2012. And yes, I have several 3D printers. :)

    Very nice idea that is well executed. The different colors make it very easy to follow. I'm going to add a cargo stabilizer rachet bar to the rear bracket as well as a few hooks and make the bracket tall enough to hang grocery bags on. With the cargo bar, I'll be able to position it anywhere in the bed I want.
    The only comment I have is that I misread the plans on page 8 and cut a 3/4-inch hole on my test piece. It was obviously way too small, and after going back and looking again, I spotted that it was actually supposed to be 1 3/4 inch, but the 1 was almost obscured by the right side of the oval. If that's my only gripe, then the plans must be really good!

      Thank you for taking the time to share this, and thanks for letting me know about the oval so I can make it more visible for future builders.

      you should not own a truck if your planning on doing this... hey you should build a storage compartment in the bed of your truck for your purse and tampons...

      Thanks terrible news! As long as no one was hurt, that’s the most important thing.

    Your work is so neat. You are awesome! Could you do a video with a wheel-well truck bed organizer or restraint for small cargo [to stop them from rolling around]?

      Thank you! I was actually considering doing a wheel well system and eventually decided on this. If the opportunity ever arises I’ll make one.

    Nice video. Great idea. You should tell the costs associated with this build. Your plans are $21 and a quick guess at materials would be around $150. Thanks for sharing.

    • @ArtisanMade
      @ArtisanMade  Před 5 měsíci

      Plans are $15. Less than one sheet of plywood required.

      My apologies. $15 USD. Baltic birch ply is $69 plus the slides at $27 each equals $124.

    I own none of the tools needed to make these. Guess it’s just a vertical board for me.

      Are you referring to the template for the handle. If so, I think I have the file on my computer still. Send me an email and I will send you the file. Artisanmadethings@gmail.com

    This is NOT a DIY for sure. Unless you have invested thousands of $ in machines and you have 10 years experience, you can't make this. I like to think that I'm pretty handy, but no way I could make this. It does look nice. Good job.

    • @ArtisanMade
      @ArtisanMade  Před rokem +1

      I made something similar with out drawers years ago with limited tools. Took longer to make but served the same purpose
