      I'm not sure of the V6, but if you can't find the bleeder valve, you can still do the flush without it. Just follow the same procedure as this video. The bleeder valve just helps bleed the bubble out quicker, but using the non spill free funnel can still bleed the bubbles out while the engine is turned on. You just might have to wait a little longer than usual for the bubbles to be bled that's all.

    i have a 2001 accord. Where is the bleeder screw located? Too many nut and bolts to tell which is which. Also, my cars heater blows out cool air when the heater is on. What could be the reason for that. Please help if you can. Thanks!

    • @NutzAboutBolts
      @NutzAboutBolts  Před 9 lety

      obiwashere the bleeder screw is on the bottom right corner. It could be air in the system or your thermostat stays open and not helping the coolant warm up.

    I followed your steps (thank you) for my 02' Accord w/2.3, also replaced thermostat with Tama/OEM brand (I tested it via boiling water and then cold water seems to function properly) and have been fighting an air pocket every since. I power flushed the radiator, heater core the second time after heating issue to be certain the system is not clogged. I followed the owners manual for bleeding procedure a few times and still have air. Do I purge via bleeder with the engine off, warmed or running?

    • @NutzAboutBolts
      @NutzAboutBolts  Před 8 lety

      +Arnolj Kukaj you can use your finger to twist the bleeder screw out from the bottom of the radiator. As for the green fluid, it'll cause corrosion and sludge if you don't use OEM coolant in the long run.

      +NutzAboutBolts I meant the air bleeder,thats next to the thermostat,but yea I assumed that.Gonna flush it out,do you think draining the coolant,adding distilled water,running the engine till the fans kick on,drain the water,then add coolant would be fine.My friends car has 207000 miles on it,and I doubt hes ever done a coolant flush,at the top of the radiator theres a little visible sludge and corrosion but not too much.

    • @NutzAboutBolts
      @NutzAboutBolts  Před 8 lety

      +Arnolj Kukaj I believe its a 12mm socket. If you want to completely drain the entire coolant system, you can do the drain 3x time with distilled water then add in concentrated coolant so that it'll mix to 50/50. You can search our civic hx coolant drain and refill. Its the same procedure.

    • @NutzAboutBolts
      @NutzAboutBolts  Před 9 lety +3

      equesfuscus we used a 5 gallon catch pan. If you want to flush the entire coolant system out, here are the steps
      1) drain the old coolant out
      2) refill with water only
      3) drive around for 10 mins
      4) repeat steps 2 and 3, 3x times
      5) drain the water out of the system, and refill it with OEM 50/50 blue coolant. Then you are set.

      that is a flush... not sure what you were expecting...? like flushing the entire system with water and refilling it back up? If so, we did that on the civic, we drain it 3x times with water, then refilled it with 100% concentrated coolant to get that 50/50 mixture.

    • @NutzAboutBolts
      @NutzAboutBolts  Před 8 lety

      +ZBolt its in the back of the engine block, but it was out of reach for us since its high up there and we had no room to break it loose. You can do that for a complete flush or you can drain it 3x times and it'll be a complete flush.

    • @White_Night_Demon
      @White_Night_Demon Před 8 lety

      +NutzAboutBolts For my 1998 one, it's apparently near the oil filter, according to the manual. I'll need to take a look tomorrow sometime to confirm that....
      Draining three times would be such a waste of new coolant, wouldn't you say? But I suppose if you can't reach/open the thing for a complete flush and drain, then this will be the next logical step....

    • @NutzAboutBolts
      @NutzAboutBolts  Před 8 lety +1

      +ZBolt if you use water and do that 3x time and then refill it with concentrated fluid, it'll be different. since water is in the system already, you put in straight concentrated coolant, it'll mix it to 50/50.

    • @White_Night_Demon
      @White_Night_Demon Před 8 lety +2

      +NutzAboutBolts ok, so it's apparently here: j.gs/7g77 according to the book and here: j.gs/9858981/drain-plug-thingy is what I found, so I guess that's the one which requires an Allen key?
      I thought it was bad to use tap water as the water base part of it.....also how can it mix to 50/50 if the loop probably contains more water than the concentrate needed? Unless you measured the amount of water used to flush it.....and then pour in the equivalent concentrate for a 50/50 mixture?

    • @NutzAboutBolts
      @NutzAboutBolts  Před 8 lety

      The drain plug should be on the left of the oil filter.
      it is bad to use tap water, but if thats all you have, its ok. you should use mineral water. As for adding in concentrated water, just drain the old water out and theres still water in the cooling system, so once you add the concentrated coolant, it'll be 50/50 mix since water is still in the system.
