    This series has so much potential! I'm loving it and thank you. I would like to see some of the strong contenders be moved to panels that get more exposed to the elements like behind the wheels and also see how they perform on direct sunlight since some of the strong performers are on the sides. The cancoat for one needs to be set on a different area of the car since it's performing so well but I feel like it's on a spot where it doesn't get exposed to the elements as much as the others.

    Awesome program, Just subscribed. Regarding the windshield test in particular, but also on any vertical subject test, consider dividing four vertical quadrants across, rather than horizontal quadrants where one competitors products is placed above and below the other. The water runoff in some instances seems to overwhelm the product placed below its competition. In the windshield flooding stage, the product on the bottom appeared at times to be subjected to larger volumes of water. Just a thought.

    Really appreciate the videos! Picked up detailing tools thanks to your videos during lockdown and did full paint restoration on a 2008 Mazda 5 we have owned since new and has 215,000 miles on it.
    All that to say this. Ceramic coated half the car with no-name ceramic coating from Amazon and the other half with Adams grapheme spray coating. The car has been parked outside in Las Vegas since March 2021. During my wash today the Adams graphene on the roof has given up. Other than the wheels and the roof, both coatings are still performing great.
    Have to find some time to polish the roof and apply a new product to protect it. Used the Adams grapheme detail spray on the roof for today.

    Even though the TC582 is dead, I don't expect any spray on paint protectant to last long. For the price, easy of use and short term protection between maintenance washes every 3-4 weeks, I've stop using any quick detailing spray I have and have substituted TC582, at least the TC582 provides some protection at the expense of show car "quality" super gloss. Love the tests, good or bad.

Also interesting to see the "games" various companies play wrt product availability (Adams and Optimum seem to play for exclusivity more than others - are there others doing this as well?). • @TannerBobbitt
      @TannerBobbitt Před 3 lety +1

      Actually sheeting is better. It reduces the amount of water spots that are left on the paint after the panel gets wet. Companies are working on making sheeting coating currently.

    • @yftinthyn007
      @yftinthyn007 Před 3 lety

      @@TannerBobbitt this is not correct. In real life scenarios, sheeting products cause water to stick to the paint. Mother Nature doesn’t use a controlled stream of water from a hose to “sheet” off the water. It’s an illusion because sheeting products actually make your car look dirtier because dirt AND water wind up sticking to it making one giant water spot.

    I think flooding a panel is more unrealistic compared to real rain conditions. It might just be my preference but I don't care for the water beading that gets left behind and dries, leaving water spots. I prefer a sheeting product that leaves the least amount of water on the panel and therefore the least amount of water spotting. Interesting on the windshield products. What glass cleaner are you using on it. From an older video from CAP I have determined that the CarPro Clarity is really good on coated glass

    This is the question I ask myself. What the heck I works best in summer and in winter here where I live? It’s tough to choose without doing this type of testing.
    Now we have to throw in how does the colour affect the longevity of a product. Light colour vs dark..

    It looks like the CanCoat data on your spreadsheet still has the 3 durability rating I think you confirmed as bad data. Durability was a 10 in the original video/rating, no? Everything else “still going” at 6 months has a 10.

    Gotta try gyeon flash! A lot of professional retailers offer this and I’d like to know if it’s worth saving a buck over mohs. Not much info out there on it

    • @rdspam
      @rdspam Před 3 lety

      Are any of these professional only? I think the target is the consumer/enthusiast, so limited to products the general public can buy.

    • @mastacator2739
      @mastacator2739 Před 3 lety

      @@rdspam I’m not sure about all the products here, I know mohs is not limited to professional only. Flash is though. It seems like they do this for consumer use as well as for education on knowing what professional service to chose should you go that route. For a lot of people they want to know what installer they should go with based on brands they use as well as knowing what line is most cost effective. For me for example, I want it done professionally and the shop I’m looking at offers flash or mohs for an extra $500 and I would like to know if there is an appreciable difference that would make it worth it. I chose this installer based on their reviews and knowledge but also because they use gyeon which I have learned is an excellent brand because of this channel. If they had been using one of these inferior products tested here I would not have gone with this shop.

    • @kimquierrez5909
      @kimquierrez5909 Před 3 lety

      I think flash is only for certified mobile detailers. Cancoat and mohs can be used by experienced enthusiast as well as pure if I'm not mistaken.

    • @mastacator2739
      @mastacator2739 Před 3 lety

      @@kimquierrez5909 I believe you are right as well. The shop I’m looking at that does coatings offers a 3 year coat package which is flash or a 5 year that is mohs. I’m told they perform about the same but mohs will last longer. Not much info around the internet on this though as I assume it’s not as popular being that it’s for professional use only. Would be good to have some real world data points on this, I’ve seen a couple other retailers offer the same two product. My initial thought is to have them do the flash (1 coat) and go back a couple weeks later and top with a can coat.

      Do you mean Angelwax ? I'd like to see those done too, except they kind of go against one of the underlying philosophies here: affordability/ cost-effectiveness in a commercial environment. In the case of trying the more expensive waxes, some of the Swissvax ones would also be interesting, especially because many are dedicated to certain car brands and their respective proprietary paints and clearcoats... But those are Ridiculously expensive. Like 3 and 4 Hundred dollars or more for a small tub.
