So which one is your favorite, the Magic Loop or Magic Ring? Do you have any other techniques to make this?
i like magic rings!
they are fun to make!
Magic ring is how I learnt from your crocheting101 videos so that's my go to but will try the magic loop too
I prefer the first method you shared but the 2nd I have used a few times.
Magic ring 😍!
Thanks, teacher!
I've only ever done the Magic Ring method I learned from your Triceratops video. At first I was actually following it so carefully that I'm left-handed, but I was struggling to do it right-handed and then switching to the other hand after the ring was done. It took me 4 amigurumi projects to realise I can just mirror it directly smh...
I have watched about 30 different videos now trying to learn how to make a magic circle. Was starting to feel like my hands just weren't coordinated enough to crochet, but I did it thanks to you! You explain things in such a simple and slow way that it actually lets me try along with you instead of pausing and rewinding multiple times just for one step. You also just position your hands in a way that feels more open and shows me what you are doing, while slowly doing it. So glad I found your channel and look forward to learning more from you!
Wow! Thank you so so much for this kind comment. This totally made my night! So glad I could help. ❤
Where were you when I was trying to learn this 10 years ago ? THANK you for explaining this so clear and precisely. You are easy to follow . Your voice a very pleasant to listen to thank you again you have a new subscriber.
I constantly come back to this video specifically for a reference on a magic circle/loop. Absolutely the best video ever for learning how to make a magic circle/loop. Thank you for this video 🙏🏼
Same! Great tutorial! Thank you!
No its awful
I know I'm late to the party, but this video is the best video I have ever found on the Magic Loop and Magic Ring. Thank you so much for your slow pace and easy to understand phrasing and word choice when explaining how to make it.
I have crocheted for over 30 years off and on. I never saw this stitch, which is odd, because I have made things that would have really looked more polished with this. I guess I made it. :)
I want to thank the video maker. I looked at two other tutorials and was beyond frustrated. This is a first with crocheting, but this time, it was better with a male teacher. Nice, and very patient. Two methods.
A magic loop is just a loose slip knot. One day I was doing all kinds of maneuvers to make a magic loop. Then I was looking at it for the longest time. It was then then that I realized it was just a very loose slip knot. Give it a try.
I was watching a CZcamsr crocheting cherries and noticed that was how I started my slip knot. I rewound the video and saw how she completed the manoeuvre, grabbed my crochet hook and yarn and now I’m a pro. 😁 When the penny drops it’s a great feeling. 🧡
Thank you!!!!
Pat, you helped me, what I couldn’t do with all the video instructions I have been watching, your simple instructions did it for me.💝💝💝💝
What do you mean by loose slip not?
Love!!!! I'm a pro now too. Thanks you Pat and Hazel! ❤️
I was wondering if it wasn't the same thing! Feels like there's so many confusing instructions compared to just doing a slip knot, but looks like the same thing when it comes out! Just thought I've been missing something somewhere along the line! Thanks Pat! ~Liz
my first time learning crochet was learning magic ring with your videos..i think it's easy for me..and thank you for your videos on invisible decrease as well, i finished my first miffy crochet :)
Wow! Yours is the first video out of 10 that actually showed and explained how to make the magic circle clearly. I finally got it! Thank you
Thank you so much for showing how to do both of these methods. I was trying to learn to crochet from amigurumi books and as you know, you generally start off with circular pieces for most projects and the Magic Ring (2nd method you showed?) is the method I saw being shown in books but was not as detailed. I kept getting stuck on why the tail wasn't tightening properly, so I really appreciate how clearly you showed how that worked!
I actually had huge problems getting the first method to work and always dreaded the magic circle, until I learned the second method from some of your earlier videos. I love it because I find it both much easier and more secure than the first method, so thanks for that!
yeah I agree, I have tried the 1st method a few times and dislike it, I have not yet tried the 2nd method, just saw it now, but it looks easier off the bat. Gonna give it a try
Thank you so much! The first method was sooooo easy!
I’ve been using the first method for a while now so I decided to try the second method you did and so far I love it! I might have to include this in more of my projects!!! 🤗
I have watched at least a dozen videos trying to teach this. Yours was slow enough, concise, gave options, and FINALLY, after multiple videos, attempts, and 2 months of giving up and finally circling back to find your video I got it to work. A little bIt more practice and I will be making my first little star. I've done cloths, beanies, cowls, triangle scarfs, but the magic ring was throwing me for a loop. THANK YOU!!!
This is the best video to learn the magic ring/ loop/circle. I have watched several other videos, and watched them two or three times, but this one I can understand, and the demonstration and instructions are easy, but thorough.
I was watching other crochet courses and I was having a lot of trouble following the instructors explanation about how to tackle a magic loop. Your video provided very clear steps on how to go about making a magic loop. I got it now thanks to you.
I am so glad I found your video. I have tried to so many times to do this and really dreaded any time I saw one used in a pattern. This is the first time I've actually been able to do it!
O M G....thank you!!! I have been through so many people and i knew eventually one person's way with the magic ring and my fingers would jive!!! i successfully started a magic ring and i feel like i won the lottery....THANK YOU!!!!
I’ve been trying to figure out the magic loop for WEEKS! This video finally made it click! THANK YOU!!! ❤
Thank you so much! I watched an absurd amount of tutorials without getting any results and after seeing yours I got it!
I prefer the Magic Ring method, not sure why but I get less stuck, anyways keep up with the amazing content! 💖
Hi louie. Thanks for that great explanaitions. The german crocheters, are more difficult in explanaitions of the Magic loop. Yours is my favorite😍. Ist very easy to understand and you show it very clearly. Thank you so much.
Greetings from Germany
Susann
Explanations*, not, explanaitions*. I've had 2 strokes, but when I was in the workforce, I was a Verifier. There were 2 of us, to verify the spelling, & math of 25 women's forms that came through. About, 500-24 page forms an 8 hour shift. I thought when I had the 1st stroke, I wouldn't be able to spell. But, I spell as well, or better than before. And, we didn't have spellcheck back then, either. I can't let spelling mistakes go by me. I apologize to anyone who might not want to be corrected. I know, I'd be glad, & am, if I spell a person's name incrrectly.
@@loisharach3612 Dude, English is obviously their second language. It's totally unnecessary to point out peoples spelling errors, and pretty juvenile too.
Thank you so much for Laney explaining how to make these I was struggling for a year on it I really appreciate your videos and I love crocheting with you you are a great teacher and I like how are you break down crocheting for beginners keep up the great work
I like the magic loop best. You answered all of my questions. I had sweet success with my first attempt. I've struggled with this for years. You totally get me. So I liked and subscribed. Thank you!
Thanks. I always was confused by that. You did a great job of demonstrating it.
This is a very thorough and informative video about the magic circle. TYSM for explaining in detail about this method. I do appreciate it. Thank you also for sharing this video with us.
This is the best video! I have been struggling trying to make this magic circle, with your excellent instruction I can now make one! Thanks so much!
Thanks so much!! I was not understanding how to do this and what exactly was going on. I’m new to crochet. You spoke slowly and clearly showed how to do the maneuvers. I actually liked your ring method better but I’ll work on the circle too.
Omg !!!this is the best explanation of the magic circle and believe me I've tried to learn from other videos and nothing!!!! Thanks you so much!!!!
Thank you. I’m trying to learn and this really helped. I will check out more of your tutorials for sure!
Thank you for sharing the second method. I've been doing this for days. Even though the second method you said is harder. For me I'm able to get the loop.
Now I just need to NOT cut off the circulation to my finger.
I've been getting so frustrated and watching video after video and asked for advice in groups. Today. Well I have almost conquered it. Thanks for the video and thanks for explaining every step and showing it quite slowly. It may be 2 years old. But people like me will definitely still find it useful. ❤
I learned how to crochet from you years ago and I suddenly forgot how to do a magic circle so I'm glad you have these videos! I've written my own patterns thanks to you and have finished countless projects! I have no clue how I forgot all of a sudden lol my hands did not remember hahaha
Thank you! I wondered if I was doing this correctly??? I have been using .. the first method almost... Now I am going to change to your way!!
I have watch SO MANY videos about this and this one made it make sense THANK YOU
Very cool! I’ve never seen the magic loop method! I will have to try it and see how I like it! Thank you very much for sharing!
Wonderful and helpful video Louie, thank you!
This video is awesome I could never do either one of these till I watched this video great tutorial! Awesome job!
This is the best explanation I’ve seen on CZcams! Hooray, and thank you!
thank you so much for this! I've watched multiple videos and this is the only one that I understand. Very easy to follow direction.
Thank you for showing both methods ! I know you mention you like the first method but the second really helped my project. The yarn I was using keep snapping whenever I pulled. The second save me so much headache. Awesome job showing both !
Thank you so much for this video. I have watched others on how to do this, and still struggled. I know have it down thanks to you. I believe it was you actually showing hand and finger placement as well as indicating to turn hand over to use back of X.
I have watched a dozen videos on the magic loop and yours is the best by far. Thanks! My arthritic hands were really struggling until I found your method.
Magic loop is pretty easy ✨️ Not really sure why people get so freaked out by it, it's basically an over exaggerated cast on ... but I ain't gonna lie, took me 5 or 6 tries with the magic 💍 ... BUT YOU TAUGHT ME 🙏 AND I APPRECIATE !!! THANKYOU !!!
👍 EXCELLENT TEACHING 👏
You are a genius. After countless videos I finally got it, and thanks to you! thanks!!! You've got yourself a subscriber!
Your explanations are so helpful!! Thank you so much.
Every video I watched about a magic circle was so confusing ..This video helped a lot! ❤️
You explained this so much better so I have a better understanding.
Very well presented! Thank you for your demo!
Thank you for such a clear explanation of the magic ring. When I first saw it I thought it would come undone but now I see how it works I know it won't. I'm passing this on to my son's friend who is a beginner.
Thank you! Easiest magic loop I've seen!
Thank you, I have now mastered the first one after trying it with other videos and ending up either in tears or putting it back in its box. 🙂
OH MY GOD THANK YOU!!! I don't know why every other video I've watched never clicked it never worked for me this has helped me so much I've been trying for HOURS!!
I don’t know how I am just coming across your channel! Love it!😊❤️
I've watched a million videos & you're the best! I can finally do it!!🎉
Thank you! I finally can do this. I’ve watched 20 other videos but this made sense!
I was honestly really scared to fail but once I finally did it a started screaming I was sooo happy it took me 2 weeks to figure it out!
The first one is the only one I can get the ring to close! Thank you for this! ❤
Tysm I can now make SO many things and you do not understand how long i was searching for a tutorial on how to do this !!!!!!!! ( a month) tysm again !
thank you , you really helped me learn how to do a crochet magic ring . I’ve watch so many videos and yours show me how 😅
Oh thank you! I bought a *_W_* kit to make a dinosaur 🦖 and it took me 6 hours to figure out how to start the damn thing. Not to mention that the yarn cam pre started so I had to go backwards to figure that part out. Instructions were not clear and they move at a snail's pace. But thank you for your videos. Very clear & easy to follow.
Unbelievable!! I have tried to do this without the gaping hole until I was so frustrated I bagged up the kit and put it away!
You have explained and made this so easy and with this “tape” yarn I have NO HOLE!
Thank you so much! I’m subscribed!
Great video, loved the music :D this was easy to follow and I look forward to learning more
Omg thanks so much! I tried to relearn how to knit after more than 4 years and I couldn’t figure out for more than 30 times, trying to make a magic circle (method 1), what I was doing wrong. Finally I got it! I was going the wrong direction 🤦🏼♀️ I don’t know how I ended up with going the wrong direction but finally! Back in knitting 🥳 thanks a lot!
This is the best video to learn the magic loop. Thanks
Thank you so much! I forgot got to do these.
I was struggling so much trying to do a magic loop with fuzzy yarn because it got stuck and snapped so often, but the magic ring really helps with that!
I like the Magic Loop better.. you are a great Instructor - Thank you.
wonderful and easy to follow. Many thanks
I like the second one better. It seems to be easier for me. Thank you.
Thanks a mil...so easy to follow...l am now officially a magic circle maker...Finally!! Lol
Preferred the second one thank you.
That was perfectly explained! Thank you!
i sreriously watched several tutorials but I only could understand and follow you, i've chosen the magic loop, it's awesome thank you so much
Thanks! It's really helpful!
Clear simple instructions 👍👍
Thanks so much for sharing ❤
it’s really helpful tysm🌸
Thank you. Your video was very helpful.
for me where i have neruomuscyler dystrophy, the 2nd one worked the best for me.
it is very amazing 🤩
Finally......I got it!It! THANKS!
I've watched around 10-15 videos. but i still can't do it, till i watched this video. thanks to you now i can make a plushie!! 💖
great video, and explanation. Many Thanks. Peace 🙂
My magic loop method is just one loop around my finger that way I don’t have to figure out which string I pull to make it close, there is only one 😀
Until now I only knew the magic loop method thank you
That magic ring is so good.
Omg! Lol how hard! I use to make and couldn't remember. Everyone on you tube loves making that x. I knew I never made an x. Like another person said its basically just a loose chain. Well sort of! I finally remembered with the help of another older woman. Just start like normal crochet. Then use your tail and make the circle to crochet in. No wrapping no x if you really want to know yell and ill get you the link to woman who does it same way.
yes. i use very simple loose loop just fold the yarn and create a ring no need crossing. Here in youtube, very complicated magic ring process that i can't follow 😅
Yes please post link😊
I like the first one😊
Lol I’ve been trying to do this for an hour, ready to pull my hair out, and then I came across this video. The Animal Crossing music alone was enough to ease my stress.
I like the magic ring thanks for the video
And just like that.... I GOT IT!! thank you
the first one was so confusing for me, the second one is better. I've tried three other videos and this is the first time ive been able to make it!
I just LOVE this! Thank you for these videos. Personally, I would rather be instructed by a man . . . I just like the way men sound. Plus, you are very personable. I don't know how one can come across personable and friendly on a one-way video, but you do. Your instructions are very clear as well. I'm really looking forward to working through more of your videos, as I re-learn crochet! Keep up the great work!
Holly cookies! so helpful, many thanks! =)
Very interesting! :D I also use cotton so breaking yarn is no concern for me. The loose end of the magic loop I use as stitch marker for every round until it is completely weaved in. I can leave it there for it has the same color as my work and you won't see it afterwards unless you know it and look very very very closely. Doesn't disturb me at all plus serves a purpose: I always know where my rounds begin/ end. :)
That's a great idea, I absolutely hate stitch markers!
Lol. I use both of these already. Just found the video because some dumb pattern STRESSED to use the "loop", not the "ring". No reason why. This would've been a nice shortcut to learning before I figured it out myself, though. Good pacing & great camera angles!
Thank you!
I am glad I found you
I like the first method ❤
Thanks for that. You're absolutely right. Just realised it's how I make a slip knot to start my projects anyway, but I just have to hold on to the loop instead of letting the yarn go and pulling it tight. Duh! 🙄
by far the easiest video to learn the magic loop
You did the best job of explaining the magic ring that I have ever seen! Your instructions and demonstration are very clear! I’ve subscribed! I’m excited to see what else you can teach me! ❤
