Agreed. C200 CDI Elegance with Comfort and Sport modes. Sadly they ceased this wonderful compromise model with the best of both worlds. Only gripe, the MB leather, which doesn't last well. Hopefully I can source a new drivers seat bottom panel to replace it. As 76k it's getting more efficient on fuel. MB maintained so bills match the list price. The loan cars, A, B, and C just haven't matched its solidity or finish. No reason to change what was perfected to escape the previous batch of poorly made C classes.

I own a 2010 C Class and its very good and nice to drive. it's reliable and has got good build quality. I love my C Class to give it away so I'm keeping it forever. 😃😃😁😁

C200 CDI returns high 45mpg+ and when at 80mph can return 50mpg+. Oddly it's return improves with the mileage on it. MB explain this as the taxi design where higher mileage cars give better returns, which makes sense in Germany.

i own this ... the sport version. Once you have driven this, you will love to drive it again and again. The sport one is less quite than the normal C-class. The steering is a bit heavy but responsive. Greattt power. easily reach 140km without any sense of unsteadiness ... the suspension is a but hard probably bec of its sport feature.
i still drive the c220 cdi 2009 in Australia it still drives like a brand new one, 220 thousand km on the clock!! No annoying sound after 15 years in the cockpit area. as usual in other cars is common thinks!!, the seats are still firm as new,i drive pretty aggressively, and in the city after 15 y still car used 7l-7.3L/100km & highways 5.7l-6l/100km.STILL, THE REAR DRIVE KICK OF POWER MAKES ME EXCITED!!
Surely better than a beemer. And whats wrong with the foot operated parking brake?? Its classic for a merc and merc owners love tradition. I love my c class
indeed its weird talking about that parking brake... all merc have that and merc owners are all familiar with it. I love my c class too

What if you are a weak person or a woman who cannot pull handbrake. But even a weak person can use foot-handbrake, you have more power in legs. And if you have 7G-tronic, you have Park position nad you dont even have to use it, except steep hills...
Rarely use the foot brake. The auto box P suffices. On an incline I put in on as insurance. Then the dashboard light up red and bings when I forget to release it.

my biggest gripe is that the back seat does not fold down for additional storage, crazy that they did not do this back in 2007

Foot parking brake is actually good idea becouse leg is stronger than hand so its easier to do it. And as he say, automatic is awesome, I love my C280 :)

I though the same thing but also thought that I might be wrong about my 2000 C280 Sport which was the last Mercedes I'd put my hard-earned money into until I drove a 2011 C300 which felt like the Mercedes I loved before the 2001s came out. All Mercs lost the "solid as a rock" feeling at around that time but it seems it's comig back. Glad to see it happening as I'll be ready for another car in 10-15 years :)

the c class interior is everything what mercedes is about understated luxury and simple elegant design coupled top notch build quality. The foot operated parking brake is a Mercedes quirk , all mercedes have always used pedal parking brakes for some reason.
Whats the problem with putting your legs a little bit stretched. I dont see any problems with that. And the foot operated handbrake is an reserved mark for Mercedes!

my father made a similar jump 9 or so years ago, from a 2007 saab 9-5 wagon to a 2012 c-class wagon. no longer has it though

The petrol version absolutely faultless. Diesel version sounds like a tractor. Glad I bought the petrol. Its just run and run. Worth every penny in my opinion.
Melted sockets for all headlights.. that's why facelift has new lights. Do not buy prefacelift.😊
I really like how you can hide the display screen, something all other cars should be able to do. A big annoying screen interrupts the dash and makes a car feel more like a laptop appliance than a car.

never park a Merc with tilted wiheels to eiither left or right otherwise it will damage your steering liock and getting it back on the road will cost you money and a half.
well, I dont really notice anything wrong with mine. So i guess it is really a minor thing. it is a bit heavy though probably because of the type of tires I am using - big and wide. So prob not the fault with the steering then . FYI, i am using the auto one. I have not driven BMW yet, so I cant compare my Merc and a BMW, but so far, I love driving a Merc. Fun and not tiring ...

Right side of the driver, down just above the hand break( in c class case , your hand break is actually foot operated) even in this clip where it showed the foot operated hand break. In another word, bend yourself a little down forward.

Petrov Bullafarht In 3 or 4 years you will look back and say "what an ugly car". You get used to the looks real fast and once the new model is out you will like that one better. Just take a look at the latest c-claas w205 and you will see that it´s much nicer.

Lovely car, although once when we drove round the round about at an average speed, for some reason the back wheels skidded, although I like it compared to its rivals! :D
probably baldy tires
the back wheels only skid if you have an auto in S mode and you are heavy footed moving off......in wet or icy conditions it should be driven in C mode........of course if wheels do spin then stability control kicks in so its safe.......all rwd cars have wheel spin in wet if youve a heavy foot on accelerator .
@@geoffdundee traction control on the w204 is quite lazy, kicks in after you've stirred a cloud of dust.
The interior was designe by Johnson Controls to be cheap, but they're redesigning it for 2011

Hei, I will like to make enquirer on how much kilometers can I drive on the engine MB CDI 2.1 07 model and am currently on 340,000km with a good year service and and all inspections are intact ???
Anyone noticed that this looks just like an SE but has the Sport grill?
Thought it was carwow for a second. Thats a short review. Footbrake is definitely diffrent not sure how well it works on hill start manovers but at least its not electronic that could go wrong. Had a wierd slope down floor aswell feom frint seats to pedals. I forgot to find out wether the back seats fold down or not.
The real test of trunk space is to put a golf bag with driver to see how easy it goes in...

I have had one of these, a 2008 C200K, and it is simply awesome. And this comes from a 20 plus year BMW fan / Owner, and trust me, for instance the E90´s interior was NOT exciting at all. That being said: Backroom on the W204 C class is simply TERRIBLE. Due to roofline design. if you have a tall driver and "co-pilot" forget about room and comfort in the back seat.
same situation here.. had been a 5 series driver for almost 20 year, very impressed with the 2008 C200K. speed and steering are better, but suspensions a little hard tho

Same. The face-lifted version's interior (2011-) looks much better though.
The interior is refined. No unnecessary buttons or plastic chrome. I wish MB would return to unfussy interiors and black switches.

I like preface interior. Not so luxury but not like a cheap fake. Facelift dashboard looks more luxury but more fake luxury and too much sporty.
Walking down a road one day and say the back of a Vauxhall Astra estate. When I got closer I realised it was the estate version of the latest C Class... I 'd rather have a 2003 C class than a 2013 model. It looks like a glorified Vauxhall. Get rid of those 60's and 70's bread and butter four door saloon rear lamps, and replace them with the lamps of the new B and CLS class.

Have driven BMW´s for many years, and the E90´s interior doesn´t feel classy at all, with that damn problem with the paint used for certain surfaces. I hadn´t driven one of these, and the interior is way better than the E90. And this comes from a BMW lover.
Absolutely beautiful. And you get so much just by buying the "cheapest" possiple C-Class sedan. But if you want some real kick so your friends pass out when you push little bit you have to pay for it little bit more of course. But, its juts a great car...

@cm18cam Have you even seen one in real life ? The interior looks horrible in reviews, but when you actually sit and ride in one, it is very luxurious ... My aunt has a 2009 Mercedes-Benz C300 and it is beautiful inside and out.

Why my c class 2009 is losing water and what is the cause of engine vibration while stationary as well as not changing gear smoothly while driving ? Could it be the faulty spark plug or gearbox issue?
Please advise.
By the way, I took it to a garage that costed £350, for engine coolant, still Loses water.
occrugs check engine mounts. Check thermostat and hoses for leaks.

Kompressor is engine air supercharger.
Petrol Mb 4cylinders ( maybe some 6-8cylinders too) used Supercharger-Compressor and no direct injection to 2010. "Kompressor" petrol models.
Since 2010 mb use Turbocharger and direct injection - "CGI" petrol models .
1.Turbocharger and direct injectors are not so durable.
2. Direct injection - much more carbonised engine.
"Kompressor" engines are much more durable with less problems like "CGI".

My facelifted W204 C300 4Matic Luxury has been a good, reliable daily runner for 6 years going, but I’d be lying if I said the drive was even remotely enjoyable. Quality, while much better than the W203, and far better than the pre-facelift W204, is still mediocre at best - definitely not befitting of a $40,000-$60,000 vehicle (on average).
The M272 can be described as vibrant and eager on a good day, but the severe detune it gets in the C300 leaves it with a much more lackadaisical demeanor. The 7G-Tronic is atrocious. It’s smooth enough, but is constantly searching for gears never consistently performs the way you’d expect. 4Matic is second only to Audi’s Quattro, it really is very competent.
The sound system, seats, materials, and more still leave a bit to be desired, but those pale in comparison to miserably cramped rear seats and very poor boot space. Did I mention that rear folding seats were an optional extra, and that the boot space tilts up? Impractical.
Returns on fuel economy are good, reliability is there, comfort is solid, and daily driving is effortless. Good commuter and daily, that’s it.
