Hassan gets so defensive about dramas and characters played by anyone from his inner friend circle. Badzaat is an awful over-dramatised & exaggerated, senseless drama but because it has Hassan’s favourites Imran & Urwa, hence he will try no end to be defensive about it. He has never ever said why Urwa chooses similar mute roles where the girl’s character is treated like crap. Come on Hassan….have the guts to criticise your friends and their choices as well just like you do to others.

Amna, you're right about Mehru's character giving out maternal vibes towards Mahir but I think this is because Mahir's exposure to love is 'romantic' only (in form of Zoya's character) and Hadiqa's exposure to love has only been 'maternal' (in form of Affan & Minal). I think since that's the only exposure to love they've had in their lives, it reflects in their character.

I had such high hopes for Dobara & I used to praise the makers for choosing & backing this story, which is kind of unconventional premise to be shown on Pakistani TV (as far as I know), but it seems that they are trying to ruin it for everyone just for the sake of monetary gain. Like seriously, why is it that when the drama is running so well and the viewers are starting to like it, the makers will seize that opportunity and start stalling & dragging the story unnecessarily to make more money. I believe, they are still underestimating the viewers that they wont notice when a story is being stalled or dragged, but they are totally wrong, because the viewers now are quite aware and much more intelligent.
I hope soon Dobara will get back on track and pick up the pace that we saw in earlier episodes. It is a good story and I really want to see how it advances ahead!

Badshah Begum has a Netflix-like feel and has the appeal to draw a wider audience. As sex and violence are two very strong themes for Netflix shows of such ilk, it'll be interesting to watch how BB evolves within the constrictions of the drama platform. A Lot of room for creativity exists, hope it lives up to the hype and we remain interested in all the characters' arc. Badzaat feels like an Amanat 2.0. Then I realized it's specifically designed for the 8 pm audience who expect a dream world with zero reality. Unfortunately it excludes me. Pass

Your reviews per episodes are amazing but we’d like to know your final thoughts about the series as a whole, as opposed to just the final episode. Honestly the first episode of "Badshah Begum" was okay. Zara and Ali donot look university students. If anything it put me off to watch them act like one.
The whole sister rivalry where two girls fight for a man, is such a cheap plot point. I don't know why it's added or what it contributes to the story.
Some rich people fighting for a non existent "gaddi" is also jarring, I mean you are already rich why fight for something minor?
Why did Yasir had smudged eye-shadow under his eye? Just to show he is evil?

Badshah Begum opened impressively. Looks like a strong script dealing with realistic issues, the actual dark side of peeri mureedi, the most lucrative business in Pakistan, and the struggle to get the ‘ Gadhi’, which is like a throne. Multiple marriages, with multiple heirs and their animosities and clashes due to the gadhi. A Dynasty ruling through a system of creating fear, and manipulation. Badshah Begum would turn out to be more powerful than Sang e mah which is mainly based on a fantasy world. This drama, in comparison would be more fierce and explosive and larger in scale. Looking forward to the dominion of female badshah of the Gadhi, Tahkt, Throne.

Unfortunately Badshah Begum was a bit underwhelming! The direction and the camera work didn’t do justice to the whole vibe and plot of the drama; there were a couple scenes if shot properly would have been a treat to watch i.e., when that man was being drowned, the face off between yasir and ferhan when they were hunting ( the dialogues in that scene were also just weird, abrupt and didnt have the required impact either). There was something missing and made the watch not enjoyable enough for me to not skip through it.

Badshah begum had a fantastic first episode. Everyone’s acting was great but kudos to Saman Ansari especially. She has completely fit in the role of Badshah begum. It’s also very evident that Khizer Idrees is the director because the execution is so unique and youthful just like it was in Laapata. So nice to see an unconventional story which such a different cast as well.
Dobara: it was an ok episode with some minor developments but we need the story to pick up the pace now.
Aye musht e khaak: so many confusing moments this week. Why does Dua agree to meet Bobby if she’s a non mahram now? I don’t understand the scope of religiosity they show in these dramas. At one end she’s literally studying Islam and can never stop preaching in every scene. And now she hops in a car with her violet, alcoholic ex husband?? Where’s the logic? Also, that scene where Feroze kinda freaks out in front of his mom and says whatever he said - his worst performance to date. It was so unbelievably over the top that I was cringing throughout. They just love showing women submitting to “love” when it’s really just a toxic man who can’t take no for an answer.
Badzaat: Imran ashraf was of course great. That beginning scene where he envisions his past was wonderful. Saba Faisal is always amazing as well. But then it kinda falls apart with Urwa. With credit to Siraj ul Haq and his oh so favourite dreamy 8 pm dramas, this is one of Urwas worst performances. This director really loves giving us star plus vibes lol. Hopefully he toned it down later on

From Hira and Mani, to Sajals famiky, and her being duped by that boy, and rejected by her family, , even the specialist couple working with Asfandyar were so natural, and relatable people, Ishq a La is nothing of the sort, it’s doesn’t even have the power to grip its audience nor any character relatable, whereas in YKS, the characters were relatable! There were many lesson and messages in this YKS, about women’s lot, the abuse of that girl who later went to school to study, the rural gangsters, the rural setting was fabulous, and so calming!

Dobara: I believe that wherever he was telling Mehru to call her son and not leave her children because of him was sincere because he himself has gone through all of this and does not want another parent to neglect their children like he was. Moreover, we shall also not forget that Mahir is not always speaking pretentiously to stay in Mehru's good books( at least I would like to believe that) because she, besides being Mahir's wife has also had a frank dynamic with him as friends. They were actual friends who shared each other's sorrows and happiness, much before they got married. Moreover, as much as I hate that Mahir is actually being untruthful to Mehru and how lightly he is taking her for granted, the harder he will fall and get the shock of realization that Mehru has been residing in his heart from long before. I really liked the development of the Bahu and Susar relationship and it was shown very naturally too. It all felt satisfying in the viewer's heart deeply when Mehru helps Jahangir in walking and showing concern. Seriously cannot avoid how Attractive and Exquisite Hadiqa Kiani has been looking throughout this drama. I have also seen the teaser where Mahir will actually be talking to Babar about how he has realized that Mehru is actually so loving and devoted to him which he wasn't expecting. I wish the drama shows more of Mehry and Mahir's chemistry, but the stroking of hair was 2x amplified in this episode compared to the last 2 episodes which were really disappointing. I wish Mehru has held his hand close to her own face or sat close to him on the bed or rested her head on his chest would have been a more loving and intimate gesture than stroking his head throughout the past 3 episodes. it almost feels like Mehru is obsessed with Mahir's hair volume or hairstyle. I remember vividly how on their wedding night, she initiated by stroking his hair for the first time and this has continued ever since then.

First, Hasan jee your knowledge about animals is amazing. Dove is a fakhta in Urdu. As for Turkey, it is called feel Murgh, wherein feel from Arabic means Elephant and Murgh means bird. So considering its size and since its a fowl that's an apt name. My grandma's house was in Saddar Lahore, and near Lal Kurti was a poultry farm. She kept chickens so we would visit the poultry farm sometimes to get the feed from there. They had Turkeys and that was the first time I saw the bird. They told me it was a Perrhoo, like in perrha the mithai. So I think it may be a slang in Punjabi for it

Loving and enjoying the drama Aye Musht E Khaak from my whole heart❤️.....and its Mustajab's character is the most intriguing part of the show,he keeps us hooked what he is trying to do or going to do.......I loved Feroze's performance.. He is tooo good..brilliant in his craft!absolutely amazing performance by him!...there is going to be a tragic consequence for Mustajab for sure!definitely, his downfall is written..but I feel..he is not going to kill anyone!he just cant, he is aggressive&egoistic obviously can play mind games but he is not criminal minded,..yes there is a chance to lose his dearest one's like shaqeela or experience someone's death infront him that will lead him towards the real path of faith, and the last thing he is doing all fake..but..it will definitely have an impact on him!he will going to recite qalma next week!! So very very excited!!

Actually badshah begum reminded me bit of of ullu baraye farokht nahin by premise. Urban/Rural thing is not a new thing like you suggest, i think. This has been done more convincingly in other dramas like UBFN and Mera Sayein. Execution of this one was just ok. Not like the masterpieces i just mentioned at all. Overall, BB was extremely boring until badshah begum apears and the most weird thing happens leaving me stunned. I have seen a lot of crap on our television but nothing beats this scene. Completely lost it for me when they pointed out that the unborn child could be a male and how dare she brought a na mehram in the darbar. I mean. like seriously???? In one way, it was a mockery of the entire concept of pardah. wildly exaggerated, and so disturbing that i decided to drop a comment. Atleast badzaat didnot make me puke this way although it seems like another toxic romantic love story with a guy having trust issues and the woman trying to live upto his expectations. And this YRF factor of trains and urtay huay dupattay ain’t gonna work for Pakistani audience. We much prefer the fight sequence of bubbly badmash on the train. Also, It wouldve been interesting if the heroine was more than eye candy, Haye mien mar gae types. But she is like mujhe police kai hawaly kardena :/ matlab had hai

for me Badshah Begum wasn't impressive at all. All over the place, many scenes were cut short and seemed like small pieces are joined haphazardly. Too much over acting. I know the genre is unconventional but come on! feet cutting scene was shamelessly cruel. The scene between Farhan Saeed and Saman Ansari was badly executed. He comes inside her room and closes the door like he wants to talk in privacy and completely ignores the woman standing inside next to him! then Saman shouted without any reason in the middle of the dialogue. so many other flaws but yes it has been hyped already so lets see how it unfolds.

I thought it was clear that the current badshah begum is the phupho, not mother of the children. Farhan's character stands at the door of the room at first when he comes to talk to her and she tells him he can come in. It made it obvious that she was his phupho, not mother. Loved the first episode. Komal's performance was very good. Finally she's got a good role, not a damsel in distress type one. I hope the drama stays interesting and doesn't stretch needlessly. Production quality is really good. As for badzaat, I started watching it just for Imran Ashraf, I hope it doesn't disappoint me like other dramas of Geo. Badzaat: story is good but looks ott. Right from the poster, where Ali abbas is giving an evil smile. Way to be subtle man 🙌 Acha khasa the character is being built while it looks like positive character, should've kept that mystery. Plus, all the background music n that whole scene of imran's encounter with urwa was all ott. Even that flamboyant dressing of his mother. Come on. Without making someone wear such chamkeely dresses, u CAN suggest that she's been a pros****** . The answer is NO, he will ask mehru to kick mahir out if she want him to return home. But wait... Why is he actually expecting her to call, even if he is her son, it doesn't mean that an attempt to kill an innocent(bazahir😜) man will be forgiven that easily. Even if mehru's decision to marry a young man was wrong, affan's attempt to try to kill maahir or even himself was more wrong, so it should not be mehru this time who will bend, we wanna see affan coming home on insistence of other people, his wife, sister, phupho.

Aamna & Hassan , you both do a great job with your reviews! Even if I “conveniently” miss a drama or a few episodes I get caught up through your reviews :)
However I think the advise you give out to your actors/ directors and writers not to promote a certain concept or not to show a certain type of content , applies to you as well . I think you shouldn’t spend your precious time to review such dramas that are not worth watching , for example aye mushte khaq / Amanat , Qissa meherbano ka …. This would be a good way to show that they are not worth our time and maybe such content would stop being created.
    As for your question :
Badshah Begum : seems like a different storyline and yes I would like to watch it for now .
Badzat: includes abuse and totally not interested . From the teasers it seems Ali Abbas’s character is abusive towards Urwa’s character and is going to be a painful watch . Especially more because the lead female character is shown to be extremely weak and helpless .

Dobara: I am surprised you guys didn't discuss if Maher was such an evil character and what could happen, going forward.

Yar your review of badshah begum didn't do justice to the first episode. There was no ' oh my God wow' which I think it deserved. It's refreshing to see a different drama with such strong story, direction and production. I literally had goosebumps watching the whole episode. It was whole new level.

Badshah Begum is best, different story, unique concept (at least in Pakistan), giving Game of Thrones, Ertugrul vibes. But Badshah Begum is way better than these two...

Wahaj did Mahe Tamam before you started SH. He and Ramsha were really good.

Don't know in what reference you mentioned this but yes Mah e Tamaam was such a lovely treat.....very, very underrated. And Wahaj and Ramsha were too good together.

@@homeschoolindianmom it breaks my heart when I see nearly no one who knows about Mah e Tamaam. Wahaj's portrayal as Taqi was BRILLIANT. Comic timing is NOT easy and he sailed through it like a summer breeze.........i so wish koi Mah e Tamaam ki baat karay but unfortunately it was not popular........keeping the whole family politics dynamics aside, it was such a sweet love story.........simple and heartfelt! And the chemistry between Wahaj and Ramsha was awesome.

@@mehreenmisbah9556 wahaj himself is not a fan of Taqi... He doesnt talk about Mah E tamam thats why people have forgot about it... Mah e Tamam was my 1st introduction to Wahaj... After that I watched Dil Nawaz... And then there was no way back... He is always brilliant in his every role...

@@fatimaahmed2118 yeah despite his excellent acting skills, the dude has really bad taste when it comes to his roles. He considers Hamza as one of his favorite characters and he is not a fan of Taqi.......level hota hai budzauqi ka bhi.
p.s. his fans love Taqi......abhi recently at the 4th year anniversary of MeT, they posted so many vms and tributes to Taqi and Shifa and Mah e Tamaam.....the messages were really cute and heart-warming.....despite the passage of 4 years, Mah e Tamaam still has an impact over Wahaj fans (apne fans se hee achhaa taste udhaar mein lele)
