  • Anna, a former McKinsey engagement manager, talks about one of the most important concepts you need to understand if you want to stand out in a McKinsey interview - peer mindset.
Many candidates come to a case interview with the mindset of a student being tested by a teacher, which is the wrong attitude for a multitude of reasons. Primarily: your job as a consultant is not to sit alone and solve problems that someone else already has the answer to. You need to be able to work with people around you - your team, your leaders, your clients - to approach complex problems, gather information, and form conclusions and recommendations.
Learn from this video what peer mindset is, why it is important, and how to display it.

Best online resource available on the topic.
Far more honest and useful than all those guru trying to sell courses to crack MBB interviews.
It is also thanks to some of your advice that I recently landed an offer to join McKinsey as BA right out of uni.
Best of luck with Build a Skill!

Thanks for the kind feedback! To be fair, we also sell a course :-)
Wish you the best of luck as you embark on your McKinsey journey!
