Personally think it’s a great idea from Eddie. Basically an all in moment where they truly get to see if Conor is worth continuing to heavily invest in

I genuinely believe Hearn and matchroom know Benny Boy isn't going anywhere big in boxing in regards to world titles, especially since his two return bouts after the positive drugs test where he's shown no power, and will just cash out ASAP.
It's been good to see him back after being cleared, twice, for the intermittent non performance enhancing trace metabolites in his adverse analytical findings.
Clearly the last two fights have been with Eubank Jr in mind to see if he Benn has the power, durability and stamina to keep much bigger guys at bay and dominate the fight.
After dominating both bigger men and proving he has the stamina and durability to last, they need to see if Eubank Jr will stop ducking. Failing that, going back down to his weight class to fight guys his own size will see more of the same devastating finishes.

I’ve watched and will continue to watch every one of joeys boxing vids (3:56 - 5:25) bloke is such a good fluent talker, dunno why it’s taken him so long to make a dedicated boxing channel as he’s very knowledgeable and clearly loves his boxing. I find the whole Conor Benn situation hilarious tbh, Eddie allowed his reputation to go through the mud in backing him just because he knew the Eubank Jr fight was big money and now he can’t even make it. 😂 Also now Benn is off the juice once he steps up in level he’s going to get absolutely battered!

Am I missing something? He can't fight British fighters because the British Boxing Board of Control wont sanction a fight in Britain whilst he's still a cheat. There’s a a reason why Benn isn’t fighting the top fighters in his own division….. he just isn’t that good! Hearn would rather put him in with top fighters from other weight classes so he can use the weight as an excuse when he loses.

I like the Flroian Marku fight for Benn. Marku has a great following and his fans show up for him, and Benn will still sell tickets in England. Their styles would make for a war and is a good test to see if Benn is the same post failed drug test. Will say tho, if Marku lands as much as Dobson did, he could get slept
Very true it’s a massive leap it seems they’re rushing this a bit, but still ill definitely be watching if it’s made, very interesting fight and will be a fiery buildup no doubt. But for sure would’ve loved Conor vs the likes of Ekow Essuman etc at top British level but I understand that’s risky if he wants these big types of fights.
These guys don't know what they're talking about claiming 'we knew how goodnight Ricky Hatton was'. No you didn't, he avoided the best domestic opposition in Witter and Vancie. Didn't go near Mitchell, Judah and Corley on the world stage. Turned the Mayweather fight down for many years. Got himself removed from WBA mandatory against Vivian Harris. Then he feasted on men way below his weight class and a few very old men before fighting an old inactive champion in Tyszu. Which was an excellent win. But his whole career was smoke and mirrors.

This fight is incredibly stupid for Benn. If he wins it will mean nothing. Even casual fans will see the major size difference so he’s suppose to win. But if gets KOED. It will look horrible especially after the drug test controversy
Also the Khan/Canelo and GGG/Brook were not “daring to be great” but doing a cowards move. They knew nothing would change if they lost and if they win they become mega stars. They knew the loser of Khwn/Brook would actually lose something because they were the same size. It would hurt their legacy and they both knew it so they took fights they knew they could lose and still be fine. Instead we got Brook vs Khan 7 years to late and all that fight told us was who had aged less. Shameful and I get pissed when fans give Khan and Brook credit

Benn would run through Josh Kelly, I understand you are trying to bring some objectivity looking at records and levels but the Benn might not have gone the "traditional route" but his pulling power and name have kind of made that the case. I am not saying he should jump in with Tank but he is in a position where he will have to roll the dice or take several steps back in terms of money and spotlight. Think they will roll the dice and push the chips all in looking at Benn's attitude and personality.

I think Hearn wants to put Benn in there with an elite opponent not just as a cash out but i think he believes a defeat to Conor will be good for him. Since Coner calls out everyone, Eddie is thinking well alright then lets give you a huge name, knowing Coner will get beat. The result will be Benn gets humbled and everyone gets paid and the extra outcome is Coner continues his career in a more level headed way and proceeds to build himself up slowly the normal way and off the drugs.

I personally think this is a cash-in from Hearn. He knows that Conor is nowhere near good enough to beat Crawford or Ennis, and the Ennis fight is low reward atm anyway. He probably thinks that sooner or later, Conor will lose unexpectedly and lose his 0, so wants to cash-out on a big fight. He planned on that fight being Eubank Jr (which Conor has a chance of winning) which has fallen through, so turns to Tank instead. Very similar to Brook vs GGG
Kell brook fought spence after ggg because EJ was the mandatory challenger for Kells 147 title. Nothing to do with fighting GGG. If I'm benn I fight tank over eubank. He'll have the size and reach advantage he has a good fast jab and 1,2 hea got no chance against eubank who's way too big for him and beans not got the power to put a dent in him fight tank and try to jab and move. I'd favour tank but at least benn would have some physical advantages.

I think people want Benn to be great but in truth he's not actually great.
He might well become great but he hasn't proven or achieved anything significant yet and his KO ratio against what's been mostly early career easy opponents has been less than impressive to say the least.
Personally I can't understand the hype around Conor nor the hype Benn v Eubank either. Conor and Chris Jnr are not their Father's, there's no genuine beef there and they're clearly not even in the same weight division. Chris Jnr is just naturally a much bigger man and for them to fight each other Chris would have too lose dangerous amounts of weight and would clearly be fighting at a less than optimal weight and condition, while Conor would have to either bulk up beyond his natural optimal weight, or accept going into a fight against a much bigger man which I don't think any sanctioning body would allow, making the fight a bit of a forced meme just for cash.
I think both guys would be more than happy for some unsanctioned stand alone cash fight, but it wouldn't really mean anything.
The rivalry was between Nigel and Chris, two legends, two great champs. These sons aren't anything like that.

I don’t think it’s a bad idea, it’s a big fight,, a big money fight. If Benn loses he’s lost to a “mythical” face of boxing fighter that knocks everyone out anyway. The top guys in his own weight category are too good for him anyway. In fact the top 140lb fighters are too good for him. Eddie probably knows that. Imagine him in with Haney. Even the Kell Brook that beat Khan would school him, however that’s almost two years ago now. Btw I’m not a Benn hater, I like watching him, but there are levels, and I think he’s peaked. When he steps up you will see.

Let’s be honest about it all. Since Benns return from his failed drug tests, it appears that he’s lost all of his power. He’s looked extremely average in his last two fights and I believe Eddie is regretting his choice to invest heavily on him. This is a great way to cash him in and if he does create an upset then that’s a big bonus.
