Another great explanation. Thanks once again. As a die hard LSU fan, I have to say.... Tua is an awesome college athlete. This kid is good. That team is a next level team. Hats off. GEAUX TIGERS
"We need a QB!" Here that year after year for LSU. But if you go re watch all 8 past games vs Bama, you'll see the oline being dominated in 90% of em. Same with the dline. You can't win in the trenches, you're not moving the ball nor winning. Doesn't matter WHO you put at QB or RB.
You are correct! Clearly LSU got whipped at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the football. In fact, the LSU head coach Ed Orgeron, mentioned this during his press conference at the end of the game. He further went on to say he needed to recruit lineman like Alabama.
Lsu qb struggles against teams when they do dominate the line. They dominate the line in almost every game. So by that logic lsu qb should be a great qb in almost every non bama game. But the stats say otherwise.
As always your analysis is top class!! Best in the biz!! Keep your videos coming, like I have said many times, you are the best, better than all the talking heads on TV!!!
Matt you're great, very easy to follow and professional, you know your stuff. ESPN or another network should seriously hire you in prominent college football role.
Tua has the best natural instincts, accuracy, and the best QB rating in the last 15 years. He is so amazing, I still am in awe of some of the moves, runs, escapes, and passes he made. Bama’s speed, size, and strength are superior to all the other teams. MS. State hopefully can give them a challenge with one of the best 4 man defensive fronts, a great linebacker, a big offensive line, and a dual threat QB. Maybe y’all can catch them bruised up. Seriously I think they have the best all around offense I have seen, Harris is a beast at running back, then there are 3 more behind him. I need some R&R, that loss was painful. Thanks for the video and analysis.
I think you make some good points. I'm not sure if I'd call Nick Fitzgerald a true dual-threat only because his arm isn't that much of a threat...especially against a secondary like Alabama's. But he certainly presents some problems and mismatches at the LOS. I think they (MSU) had a GREAT game plan against Bama last year. If they are smart they will try and do a little more with the tight-ends and RB's out of the backfield. That seems to be Bama's weak-spot this year, and it's really only marginal.
Matt Wyatt has the best film study ! We'll see y'all this weekend Matt Wyatt /Mississippi State . I miss your sound bites during your videos Man ..keep up the awesome work I look forward to each analysis Roll Tide
That; and the helmet to helmet on Ruggs after completing the catch. Biggest advantage of home field, is that refs are afraid to make the right call, for fear off the crowd. A fact in any home game.
It's one thing to lose, but to be completely dismantled on our own turf is just embarrassing. Defense wise, I think LSU was ok. Yea, twenty nine's a lot of points, but when you're on the field most of the game without any help from the offense, it's hard to stay motivated and hang with a team of this talent. Offensively it came down to the line of scrimmage where they just got completely shut down. Sure, Alabama has bigger better stronger athletes, but they're also just better coached, which is why this happens year after year to almost every team they play. Enjoy these years tide fans, coaches like this do not come along often.
Chris yeah I agree. LSU has a good defense. But are a little lite on the dline. The linebackers and secondary are very good. Tua didn’t have many windows to throw into.
Chris, LSU's D is truly talented, and being on the field that long at that pace, and watching them rotate players in and out while they didn't have the luxary to do so, would get really frustrating, really fast. Matt Wyatt's break down of the game would give a lot of insight on how gutsy LSU's Defense played against fresh player's just about every down in the second half. LSU has my respect and admiration for their HEART.
Yeah we are enjoying!!! I’m 63 yrs old and my generation of tide fans are the most fortunate fans in the world. To have come up with Coach Bryant and now being able to witness what coach Saban has accomplished at the University of Alabama, I count it as a great privilege!!! 🌊🐘🌊❤️🅰️🏈
@Wired for Understanding I am a lsu fan and you have my utmost respect for the way you are seeing the game of college football. Idk why after 2016 we recruited lighter linebackers even tho this 2018 linebacking crew was rated the best in lsu history especially since we had our first and only Butkus award winner in Devin White that didn’t play first half. As far as the talent comparison goes I completely agree lsu and Bama have great games all the time bc of the talent on both rosters is insane. I guarantee you if you took lsu teams from the 2010’s and give em to saban that’s a few national titles and if you take the Bama teams and let Les miles or Ed orgeron coach em they prolly only win 1 natty. Coaching is a big part in college football.
Good stuff but can we get more like Offensive style film session, like when you went really in depth with the coverages, and the box calls, pre read, man/zone, that kind of stuff. But overall good stuff
With all due respect to Tua everyone seems to be on the Tea bandwagon and, they seldom give credit to how Alabama dominates the line of scrimmage. The line of scrimmage is how most football games are won. Tua is amazing, but the entire team is amazing.
The o-line is great, but Tua is the key. Bama's offense becomes average when Hurts enters the game - and Hurts almost always plays with the first-team offense, so it's a one-to-one QB comparison.
Matt ,a lot of discussion here in BR is about if the main issue in this game for the tigers is personnel or scheme. After watching the film which do you think it is? Or is Bama just that much better in every facet of the game? Thanks, love your stuff and keep it coming!!!
In your honest opinion, was that back shoulder pass to Waddle intended to be like that cuz the CB was in perfect position but had his back faced Tua or was it a lucky under thrown pass that Waddle was fortunate to adjust to?
Mcsuchnsuch, that was a timing route. It works against man coverage. The defender has to be aware and ultra quick to stop the catch, maybe even picking it off in the process. Of course, the QB has to be accurate with the placement and timing of the throw, as well. That throw takes a bit of balls to chance, to! Tua is definitely a chance taker! It's very surprising that he only has one pick at this point of the season.
The QB had already processed all that he was willing to at that moment. When a defender is circling you , and the countdown in your head is winding down, you sometimes have to make the pragmatic move. Tucking it was the smart thing, though I feel he would have seen the receiver one second later.
Another great explanation. Thanks once again. As a die hard LSU fan, I have to say.... Tua is an awesome college athlete. This kid is good. That team is a next level team. Hats off.

Thanks for these - look forward to them every week rtr
I love the video break downs. Thank you for putting forth the effort into making these videos for us
Excellent work, as per usual. Love these videos.
I sure would like someone talk about and show the holding LSU did and the refs let them, because they were afraid to call.
That; and the helmet to helmet on Ruggs after completing the catch. Biggest advantage of home field, is that refs are afraid to make the right call, for fear off the crowd. A fact in any home game.

I'm sorely lacking in knowledge about technique so this video was very entertaining and educational for me. Thanks for putting this up!
Thank you for the excellent analysis.
Another great analysis by you Matt. It's hard for me sometimes to see the things you see. I really like watching your videos.
You do a great job man!! I love your videos!
all the best cfb film study...right here
You do an excellent breakdown of the film.
Thank you so much
The Bama D is formidable, particularly on the line. I can’t remember the last time there was this much pressure up the middle with down linemen.

Matt Terrific work. Best thing on youtube. Are you doing a Miss State/Bama pre-game scouting report? Roll Tide!

I enjoy seeing your breakdown of Alabamas games! Got a question.Where would you rank Q. William's among this years defensive linemen?
I missed the game but no worries, I know I’ve got Matt to break it down. Thanks!!!
MATT, PL;EASE TELL ME WHY LSU DID NOT TRY THROWING SHORT DINK AND DUNK ROUTES LIKE OUT ROUTES, SLANTS AND QUICK CROSS ROUTES?? PLEASE TELL ME WHY.??

Scheme on offense and horrible offensive line coaching that was the issues.
Who do you think matches up best with Bama?
33 is a safety, not a linebacker
👍🏻
Very good breakdown of the game hope the bulldogs play well against bama
How do you think the play of Tua is affecting the high school QBs? They've gotta be watching and thinking "that is how it is done."
In your honest opinion, was that back shoulder pass to Waddle intended to be like that cuz the CB was in perfect position but had his back faced Tua or was it a lucky under thrown pass that Waddle was fortunate to adjust to?

That throw takes a bit of balls to chance, to! Tua is definitely a chance taker! It's very surprising that he only has one pick at this point of the season.
Timing it's about timing the ball is in the air when the receiver makes his cut bam completion.
Hope you show all of the holding
Grandiose Small Things on who cause I can tell you countless times that LSU was holding and not called. It was obvious holding at that
Tyler Iingg the refs definitely kept the flags in their pockets and let LSU get away with everything
Why didn't 13 throw it to 82 on the long scramble for a TD? Why didn't he recognize the fallen db? 82 was wide open. Thanks in advance.
Because he wanted to show his knee/knees was fine plus it was a boost for his Heisman bid Roll Tide
Ball was already tucked same time he was open. Can't motion to throw running full speed so he chose not to throw.

he might of thought he was to close to line of scrimmage to throw the ball.
do you agree that tuas throws arr largely predetermined before the snap?
Think yo I could film study Auburn/Texas A&M.... and how they blew the lead

Tua’s first I-n-t?
Fat lot of good it did. Just gave BAMA better field position after a near safety and 3 and out.
@@markbrasher4739 Yeah, Tua's first INT was just Bama's best punt of the season.
I know it didn’t matter, but it’s such a rare occurrence I was sure it would be included.
