Oh goodness! I’m glad you both are safe!
A trip you guy will remember for life,
That’s for sure! Thanks for watching along!
“I saved the whiskey”, that’s important. Me and my husband are enjoying watching your videos. He’s from Arkansas, but moved away many years ago. We enjoyed the three videos of this trip.
Haha I’m glad you got a kick out of that! I was surprised to see it floating by me. Arkansas is such a beautiful state! I’m glad you’re enjoying the videos! Thanks for watching and for the comment!
The bannock looks delicious. Makes me want to make a campfire in my backyard 😉
Great trip you guys. You’re my new favorite ❤️
Thanks! Glad you’re enjoying following along!
I’m a new subscriber and I follow several others on CZcams who are adventurous like you. I’m 71 so I’m living vicariously through these type of videos. Really appreciate you sharing your experience, narratives and insights.
I love it! Happy to share these experiences. Thanks for the comments and following along! It means a lot. Glad you’re enjoying it all! I’ll keep the videos coming 😊
Straight down the middle … Words not to say at Clabber Creek. 😊
lol 😂 Yea definitely learned that one the hard way. Should have scouted for sure! But made for an unforgettable run haha.
Awesome adventure. Cant believe you tackled the tsunami section. Lol looking forward to the next one
Yea we should have scouted it for sure, but it was a blast! Thankful it was warmer that day haha.
Love the videos. I think you'd love a Sven folding saw! They're amazing and take up little space. Been using mine since the 90s.
Thanks! Glad you’re enjoying them. I need to look into the Svens again. I’ve been using Silky, and I like it a lot, but I hear people raving about Sven too.
I believe your accident was at ‘Clabber Creek just past Rush and it’s famous among the locals……..they call it ‘clobbered at clabber!’ I usually portage around it river left especially in the winter. Glad y’all were able to keep your gear and continue.
Yes! Quite the set of rapids. Haha 😂 I like that saying. You could definitely say that of us after we ran it! I’d love to go back and run it more. Definitely should have scouted it before, but it made for a good story!
9:00 must be Clabber Creek shoals...been researching that stretch from Rush to the White and it looks interesting!
Yep! That’s it. Somehow in my research ahead of time I had no idea that rapid existed. So it caught us off guard lol. But a fantastic set! I want to go back and scout it better and run it more. I’ve spent a lot more time on the Upper Buffalo River so that last stretch was definitely new to me. It is gorgeous and quite different from the upper. Would highly recommend paddling that stretch!
What do you use for footwear? I've been wearing waterproof boots for winter kayaking but looking for something better. @@Beyond_The_Treeline
@@themarcusallen I’ve been using the NRS Paddle Wetshoes. Those paired with some neoprene socks have done the trick for me for the past 5 years. They’ve held up way better than I expected them to through long paddle days and many portages. I also recently got the Xero Aqua X. I like the barefoot feel and these things are designed to dry really quick. So I’ve loved those. Still pair them with neoprene socks to keep the warmth though. One thing to keep in mind with the neoprene shoes, you’re always putting on wet ones in the morning. But with these Xeros, they dry so fast!
In the summer I love a perfectly fitted pair of vibrato fivefingers but have been looking for a good winter option. Will check those out!
