- Thinking about installing a Safe-T-Plus steering stabilizer on your Class C RV? Bobby C shows you how to install one on his Entegra Odyssey 26M Class C on the Ford E-450 chassis. You can do it, too!

Very nice video. I'm still going back and forth between the Roadmaster Reflex Steering Stabilizer and the Safe-T-Plus. Thanks for the video!
Just found your videos today and have been enjoying them. I was between the 30z - 27u - 26m lol I believe I have chosen the 27u ... I plan on living full time in mine when I retire. I do wish the storage was like the 30z but we can't have everything.
Anyway .. my reason for writing to you is I have been seeing a lot of posts on how much issues owners have with their RV's and it has intimidated me a lot but watching you has reassured me that I can do this !!! lol Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I look forward to seeing more ..
Thank you so much! Glad they have been helpful. I think the post-pandemic units are probably higher quality. Good luck with yours!
Cozy Living Machine is the best ! Great video ! 👍👍
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
@@bobbycandtherv Are you going to change out the sway bars too. A lot of guys are going to the Hellwig parts 🤷🏻♂️
@@georges4562 I don’t know yet. I did my first longer drive on interstates this past weekend. It handled pretty good, MUCH better than without the Safe-T-Plus. Still a little sway, though, but not bad. I have a trip to South Carolina coming up in September. I’ll re-evaluate then.
@@bobbycandtherv We have an Odyessey 30Z that’s been on order for almost six months 🤷🏻♂️ so I’m taking the time to learn from people like you with these great videos. I’m a subscriber so I look forward to your future videos 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you!
I am enjoying your videos. My wife and I are considering replacing our Grand Design travel trailer & Ford f250 for either a Mercedes based chassis class C or Ford chassis. Since You have had both, what would You say are the pro & cons on each? We are looking at the model You have now, Odessey 26M or possibly the Odessey 24B. Thanks for your feedback. David
Great video! Have you addressed the TAIL WAG in the rear yet? Your coach could REALLY benefit from a Rear TracBar. :)
Thanks god bless
You too!
Great video - what torque settings did you finally use for the large bolt and small bolt holding the sway bar clamp?
I followed the Safe-T-Plus recommendation for the large frame bolt (65lbs). Their recommendation for the small frame bolt is 45lbs, but I only went to 20-25 because someone warned me that they stripped theirs. I just drove to Florida again & no issues. I need to check it again though.
Thank you for the torque info. I also have a 2022 Entegra Odyssey, but a 27U - same length I think as your 27M. After your trips since making this video, have you decided if you need new front/back sway bars? Also, are you towing a vehicle behind? Thanks for your thoughts.
@@henriprudhomme9016 thanks, Henri! Yes, I do tow a small Fiat 500 (2,200lbs). Without towing, having done just the Safe-T-Plus is absolutely perfect. I personally wouldn’t need anything else, but also I do not drive out West where you are more likely to run into high winds. When I am towing the Fiat, it still drives really well, but the heftier sway bar would have been helpful. Since you are using the same bolt holes, I would recommend doing both at the same time. When I did mine, I think the sway bar was between $100-150.
I have a 2019 entegra odyssey. I’ve read an Amazon review about some grinding on a bracket for the Ford. E 450. Did you have to do any grinding ? Thanks
No grinding was required on mine.
Does the Ford Steering Stabilizer have to come off?
Yes it does. The Safe-T-Plus replaces it.
Would Helwig bars be better?
A lot of people also replace the front sway bar with a Helwig when doing this job. I thought I’d do one thing at a time. I have a trip to Myrtle Beach in September so I’ll get a pretty good feel if I need anything else.
I understand there's a lawsuit against Ford for this issue.
What issue is that?
@@bobbycandtherv The front end alignment wearing tires quickly.
More hands on would have been better .
Yep, but I had to do it solo. Not too difficult.
