• Huge Summer for Habs p... - Sport
Just to add , right after I said there’s a 17% chance … me and dekes both sent the “so your telling me there’s a chance” Lloyd Christmas gif to each other at the same time . It was classic !!
Cheers buddy good stuff !!!
You know it! 🤣👌🏻
What I suppose Gorton meant by things are going to get harder is that it's easier to built a prospect pool and harder manage those prospects. You can't sign them all. Some tough choices are coming. Who do you trade? Who do you let go. Who do you call up? Beck, Mesar, Riley, and Kapenan are all centers. They all have upsides. There will be 1 spots available if Suzuki and Dach are 1st and 2nd and Evens is 4th. That's where it gets hard. Lets not get into the defensemen.
Well you can move some to wing but I understand. Wishing them wisdom to decide the right way
Some tough choices to be made coming but tough choices that will also help create a more solid lineup from top to bottom. Going to get more and more interesting the next 2-3 seasons.
Definitely exciting going forward.
Yes sir!
Crazy part is, this team is close.
44 games were by 1 goal. 27 of those losses, out of those losses 12 in regulation, 15 in OT/SO.
Had they won half of those games they lost, would have given them 19 more points than they finished with, which would have given them 95pts, good enough for the final wildcard spot, by 4pts. Wishful thinking, but just shows how close they are. And...all of that without Dach. Not saying he is the savior, but I think they would have won a few of those 1 goal losses with him in the line up.
Should be an interesting summer. Not sure where Anderson fits into this team for next season.
First line remains the same.
2nd line Roy Dach ???? (trade at the draft?)
3rd line Gallagher Newhook Armia (Perfectly fine this being the 3rd line, especially if Armia and Gallagher can play like they have the last couple months.
4th line Pezz Dvorak Evans? Maybe see Dvorak traded with picks at the draft.
D Corp
Matheson Guhle
Hutson Savard
Xhekaj Mailloux
Harris or Kovacevic as the 7th D
No Struble....don't want to see him go, but could maybe see him packaged (maybe with Dvorak) and picks for a pretty decent return, and something has to give on the D to make room for Hutson.
I am confident we will pick the right guy or trade the pick and get the right guy. Next year the playoffs are within reach if we stay healthy.
Keep it up dude
How many games did you manage to cover, I knew you wanted to try all 82 but that would’ve taken a miracle, lol. Can’t wait to see what we do at the draft!
Haha yeah it’s tough especially working 2 jobs, or even one job really.
Hard to decide Struble, Harris, Baron or? Someone has to be in a package I suggest put one a first round and flip to move up
it would be nice if you provided a link to the shane goumet podcast with you, i couldn't find it
It’s right on my channel under videos

The players I want for the Habs at 5th overall are either Lindstrom, Iginla or Eiserman...
All 3 of them have size and elite forward qualities.
Eiserman and Caufield on the powerplay 😂 the "Cole" dual threat
I know he isn't as big but Berkley clatton if that's his name had a stellar season as well.
FYI, Logan Mailloux actually pronounces his name MAY-OUX rather than MY-OUX. I know it's not the way we would normally say it in Quebec, but he is not from Quebec.
Yeah I keep hearing both pronunciations so it throws me off. I heard it was supposed to be MAY-OUX also but I’ve gone back and forth as I still keep hearing both.
@@DrewDekes The important thing is that when he says his own name he says May rather than My. I saw him do this very thing at the beginning of an interview he did at the beginning of the 2022-23 season. I took notice because I always assumed it was pronounced the French way. I always take note when a player introduces himself in a team video or whatever it might be. Evgeni Dadonov puts the emphasis on the first syllable, but as soon as he came to the Habs, everybody started calling him Da-DON-ov. Exact same thing with Romanov. It's not RoMANov. When I hear them say their own names I figure that's the way to go.
We have 11 contracts that end after the next season, the 25-26 edition of the Habs will give us a much better of idea of what the future is for this team.
Agreed 👍🏻
👍🇸🇰
I am pretty sure they will make the playoffs next year if they don’t decide to tank
not with that goaltending, plus they still have plenty of garbage on the books for one more year
They should take a step forward if they stay relatively healthy & add a top 6 forward, and tighten up defensively, and round out the bottom 6.
Remember Guy Damien Lafluer had 55 points in his second season
Nice stat I like that one 👍🏻
I think they might trade down and still get the player they want
Don't worry, if they pick another D it will be most likely to take Zayne Parekh who already has established chemistry with Owen Beck.
Actually there is just a 17% of moving up at all since the chances of 3rd are almost zero. Not sure about 4th.
I expect playoffs next year, or at the very least I'll be crushed if we miss 'em. Call me an optimist
Nothing wrong with optimism. It’ll be disappointing for me if they get very close next year and miss like detroit did this year. Then again, that’d be huge progress compared to the last 3 seasons.
i came up with this and you ain't ready
Matheson-Hutson
Mailloux-Xhekaj
Strube-Ghule
trade the rest for fowards
Trade - 24 Matheson for a forward.
@@jjevans1693 we got him for petry and he's top10 NHL for points. also, he's from pointe claire so he's hometown. i'd keep him for a decade
@@chrisbelos2834 He's a defensive liability. One dementional player is loved by one dementional thinkers.
@@jjevans1693 but he was +7 last year until they put him with Ghule. ghule was -19 last year and -8 this year. this "defensive liability" moto is just bs imo
@@chrisbelos2834 Exactly, Gulhe had to play with Matheson's defensive liabilities.
The sad part is Montreal will be forced to pick a defenseman again this year
No they'll take a forward
If the best player available get a d man.... have too many stud in D is not a problem if they all pan out u will be able to trade him, a top 2 d sells for more than than a top 6 winger
Top 5 means it could be Celebrini, demidov, lindstrom, catton, iginla or eiserman. All are great
So what? There are other teams who wouldn't mind a Guhle for a good rookie forward trade, and Guhle wasn't even a top 10 pick. If the best available is a D, then take the D and trade him for a nice forward if you don't think he can be better than the other guys in our D core.
And unless we get bumped to 2nd, I don't see us drafting a D anyway. First is Celebrini, after there are a bunch of Ds ranked higher and then the Fs are coming. Decent chance the best player at 5, 6 or 7 is a forward.
Very good problem to have high end defensemen are worth an immense amount.
I want Lindstrom
