Took a long narrow muddy road to see Peninsula Point in Upper Michigan. Located at 3722 County 513 T Rd, Rapid River, MI. Peninsula Point is a lighthouse located at the southern tip of the Stonington Peninsula in Bay de Noc township in Delta County, Michigan. United States Coast Guard historical documents have over the years listed the name of the site as both Peninsula Point and Point Peninsula Little Bay de Noc.
Also seen multi fossils while walking on the old ancient sea bed as the water was extremely low. It was a beautiful late March day to visit this fascinating place. It was hard not to take any fossils but I was a good girl and left them all there. It is a place that I have been to in the past but must say this visit was much more exciting with the water level being low and the time of the year made it very peaceful out there. Only seen one other family with children the whole 2 hours I was out there.
Thank You for watching :)
Excellent spot! I've never been there. Beautiful views. And FOSSILS, wow!! 😊👍🏻

Had a great time exploring around here. Thank you much for watching😊
Very cool fossil location. Crazy low water!
I was shocked to see how low the water was. Fun place to explore. Thanks for watching🥰
@@upnorthadventureswithccc yes we didn't get the snow we normally get during winter. I wondered what effect it might have on our great lakes
That red agate is fire! Can't say I've ever seen wood like that before. Very pretty! Birds and water sounds were so tranquil. Have a good rest of the week
Cindy I think you meant to put this comment on my wet tile saw rock cutting video :) I knew by the comment on the red agate and birds. Thanks much for watching😊
I don't know why, but i really like light house's, i like the stars in this one. So many very cool fossils! Thanks for sharing, see you next time 👋
I love lighthouses also. I so wish I could of walked up to the top. The fossils were awesome out there. Thanks much for watching 😊
Awesome fossils . Great place.
I hear you saying how low the sand line is .
The world is running out of sand , no joke , trust me . When my company has to buy sand , clean sand , it’s getting expensive.
The beaches are losing sand , the sand is going back into the ocean.
I guess the ecological crisis/ disaster/ climate folks have not hit on the sand issue yet ???
Cool video .
Mike
I was thinking about how low the water is but to hear there is a shortage in sand also, is bizarre. The earth is changing a lot and mainly in the last year. Kind of scary ! Thanks for watching Mike😊
Thats a lot of fossils pretty cool beach when the water is low , crazy how a butterfly can fly that far , thanks
It was a fun place to explore. It is amazing to think about them little butterflies flying so far. Thanks for watching 😊
I love that spot, crazy the water is so low.🔱
It is a great area to explore and enjoy :) Thanks for watching🙂
Nice fossils and that shell you missed, would that have been a old shell. Looked like it was an sea shell! Cool Monarchs story! 👍🏻
The missed shell did look like something one would find in the ocean ? It was a fun place to explore with the water being so low. I tried twice to catch the monarchs migrate but missed them both times. I will try again this fall😊
@@upnorthadventureswithccc Our lake is way up like normal for spring time! All the rain last year and all winter, and now still in spring! I tell ya things are changing big time here! The sun and all.
@@quaileggsvermont We are loosing water ! I am sure it will return. At least I would think so ?
@@upnorthadventureswithccc 👍🏼
Beautiful places sister
Thank You Sister😇
I love the lighthouse. Shame you couldn’t climb the stairs. We’ve seen many low bodies of water. It’s kind of worrisome. Great fossils. 5:45 that is so darn cool looking! I’m pretty sure we’re done with snow and winter. In fact, supposed to be having tornadic activity this weekend🙄. It is very weird that it’s all fossils there. And so darn many of them. Very odd area. But kind of cool too. Interesting info about the monarchs. Great video.
Some of the fossils were amazing looking here ! I had such a great time out there with the water so low ! It has me worried also. What is going on ? In 2019 I had some flooding in area now this, it's all pretty shocking. I hope I am done with snow also but really didn't even hardly get any this year. Nighttime temps are below freezing lately. I was up north again today but pretty sure it was in the 50's in my area but only in the 40's up north. Thanks much for watching😊
That’s amazing. The 1st rock you pickup is loaded with fossils. What a really cool place. That’s like out rivers here in Florida. 😊
I really liked that first fossil. Never did see another one like it while there. It was a fun place to explore. Thanks for watching😊
@@upnorthadventureswithccc yeah it was pretty cool for sure. 😊
Neat place. Got limestone down here in the Sip. A friend found a shark tooth last week in the county I live in. Thanks for the trip.
Shark teeth have got to be fun to find ! Thanks much for watching. Happy Rock Hunting😊
Very nice
Thank you😊
wow nice
Thank You😊
Hi. I love the history!!
Hello Alice :) Thanks for watching 😊
Awesome looking place! I’ll have to plan a trip there 🙂
You will enjoy this place. Thanks for watching😊
Dang! Those were some great fossils! Love brachiopods. You didn’t keep any? Some here in Kentucky are geodized with calcite crystals in them.
This place is in the National Forest so I wasn't sure if I could keep any. Stopped at a another place were I could take some but there was only two of them, lol😊
No regular rocks😊
I was shocked that there wasn't even one out there ! Thanks for watching😊
@@upnorthadventureswithccc you're welcome it's a great video. What's the biggest fossil you ever found?
@@outdorrfun9948 I would have to say it was a death plate that was about a 10 inch circle.
That's nice. I'm ready to get out there but it's been raining so much. You have a great Sunday and happy Hunting
Really stupid weather we have had! 2 days ago is was sunny and near 70 out! The next day Yesterday, we had snow flying in the air late after noon! Cleared up and last night was 26 here! Nuts! Today in the low 50s, tomorrow near 60 again. By Sunday they claim in the upper 70s! then next week getting cold again! OMG give me a brake from this nutty weather!
This is exactly how it is for me. Down in the 20's over night for a few days now. Weekend maybe 70's, lot of rain and now in the 50's for day time highs, lol
@@upnorthadventureswithccc Here this is not normal! Call me nuts, but for the last 20 years I have been watching the sun! Sun comes up in the east and sets in the west, you would think!! Well it use to! The sun comes up now in the southeast and sets now in the north east! A little more each year! What is up with that??
@@quaileggsvermont oh wow that is strange. I will have to pay closer attention to that here. The world is changing way to much. All of it is scary !!
@@upnorthadventureswithccc Ya just seems funny that the sun is setting differently than it use to! You have to see it on a flat area where the sun don't set behind a mountain or trees! I set up a few 100 feet above this lake with flat farmland between us and the lake! So when the sun goes down I have marked this area and it is slowly moving northward as it sets. Am I going nuts? That could be!
@@quaileggsvermont Lol, your not nuts the world is nuts and it makes us feel like we are going nuts🤣
