I saw Marcus at Claptons Crossroad Festival in Dallas last year.
If ever there was a guitarist / band , say like Mike Tyson (example) ,Marcus was it.
There was so much legendary talent that weekend, it was the greatest experience of my life!
Marcus came out , and in his first song just pummeled 17,000 people .
It was one of the most incredible 3 song sets I've ever seen. EVER!!!!!!!
Joe is right when he says Marcus is a superstar! Honestly , tears came to my eyes watching him play, knowing
that american music , the future of american music will carry on in his generation for years and years.
I watched the torch , carried by Clapton , Beck, Gibbons ect , handed off to Marcus ,Derrick Trucks , Gary Clark Jr, Doyal Bramhall and Imop
this generation is going to be as good or better than the guys they grew up listening to.
I think we are at moment in music history, like what we saw in the sixties.
A renaissance that will "again" last a lifetime!
Thanks Joe, you are definitely a major part of this as well!
God bless !
"A good show is just giving everything when you have nothing left." Love it.
Two peas in a pod! Both of you are amazing!!!!!
This young man’s sound stirs deep my soul, “Beautiful Stranger”…..
Backseat of my parents’ car, I was a little girl (late ‘40s, early ‘50s)
Travelling through the dark night, falling asleep to the Southern vibe, the Southern pathos on the radio,
Different time, different generation, but..…totally timeless ❤️.¸¸.☆
Two greats today. Thank God for Marcus King - nothing this fresh & classic has been out in years. A massive talent who's just getting started - hope we have fifty years to Marcus to look forward to in the future!
Amen!!
Marcus has a voice that is pure magic. Such tone and seasoning that is well beyond his years. Pair that with his top notch guitar playing and he’s an absolute unique talent with few modern rivals. Thanks Joe for giving him an opportunity to share his talents with us.
Hell yeah
Totally agree, like Joe said Marcus is a superstar.
Early Grand Funk! I like the sound of that idea.
First time I saw Marcus was with his dad at the Handlebar warming up Johnny Winters. Marcus was still a teenager. He blew everyone else away.
Great episode. Thanks for hosting Marcus. Two of my favorite live guitar players just shooting the breeze. Love it
Joe says sometimes he’s not good live?!?! Well then, I must have been lucky enough to see only gigs where he’s torn the roof off the joint all 38 times.
Lucky me!!
I agree. Seen him many times and he smoked every time. The energy in his shows are bar none amazing.
Marcus is clearly a very smart guy in addition to shredding like ninja
Marcus Is The Truth!
There’s those that learn to play and those that are BORN to play...
BOTH of these Men were BORN to play!
"The only thing were feeding the mains is kick drums and vocal mics". That's badass.
These Two have the best sounds in music today
Great interview Joe. Marcus is the same guy I met in a small club while he was residing in Asheville before the 1st MKB album was released but now he's more experienced. His Gramp may be his guiding light in his heart, but he's obviously driving his career. Finally met his Daddy Marvin last year. Both very humble guys. Hope you 2 get together for some great music.
Marcus King is the man, I really enjoy his music. Thank you for putting this interview together, I really enjoyed it.
Joe Bonamasa!! Outlines my two favorite players Clapton and Gilmore. Thanks for being you brother!!
Marcus your vibe is pure 🔥🔥🔥🔥✌️thank you Man! 🎉🎉🎉❤
OMG Joe mentioned Jethro Tull twice in one episode. I love that I not only love his music, but I feel a synchronicity as a human being. my first live concert in 1973 was The Allman Brothers and he mentioned them in this episode as well. 😎
I saw Marcus at Framer y Theatre in NYC maybe 4 years ago.Amazing!
Between him Billy Strings,Christine Ingram, and Molly Tuttle, blues and roots music is in good hands for decades, which makes this 70+ guy happy
Great talent on writing singing guitarist Marcus King . High Scrool !
very cool. this young man is from the "big town" an hour from where I live 👍🌹
Marcus is unreal, I love the way he adds that jazz flavor to his songs. Just when I think I know where he's going, then all bets are off. But I'm happy about it.
My boy Marcus is killing it!
Terrific interview between two great blues rock and more musicians! You are such an excellent interviewer with great questions and personal insight of your own, Joe! 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸 Hang in there, Marcus & Joe! Good things are worth waiting for and your love of live performing will return and how sweet that day will be for you and everyone who loves great music!! 👍💖🎸😎
Your family has brought you many riches your a good old soul Pain from your first love at 13 is watching u she brought the feel of real and raw to your music when you thought the worst was going to happen laughter brought back Just be careful of the money hungry people who want to make a profit off of you. Wolves. Go With Your Heart Your A Good Person
Marcus is a consummate musician. Great player, great singer, great song writer, great performer. Seeing clips of him throughout the years, always amazed. Really want to see him live...soon!
MARCUS & HIS BAND ARE GREAT GUY....I HAVE ALL THERE MUSIC !....LIKE TO HEAR JOE & MARCUS TOGETHER !!!!!
Marcus King is my new idol, what a great artist !
Joe, you played at the Township in Columbia , SC and you said you had strep but tequila helped you through it. Your show was great that night. You earned your keep that night. 😊
Id love to see one of these with derek trucks!
He has done Greenville proud
The BEST interview ever!!!! Two of the greatest musicians sharing their wonderful musical journey. Thank you for sharing it with us all. 🎶🎵🎤🎛️🎸🎷🎹
Great interview. I missed Marcus when he played here in Wichita. Won't make that mistake again. Please come back. Joe you are also due to come back you know l will be there!
I love Joe as a music journalist
They're definitely enjoying heaping bowls of "crow" right now. You followed your heart and look what you've accomplished. Bravo!!
Marcus I love that Wildflowers and wine, I love that red ES345.....1960? So you guys don’t have to be loud, you have proven it, Elvin Bishop used a Princeton on his 100 years of the blues with Charlie musselwhite, Hats off to both of you for keep keepn on
Great interview!
I was at the Handle Bar gig and the first Peace center show. Got to meet Joe both times. 2 great shows and a really nice guy
Marcus is just great !
I love these conversations because they are real. Marcus seems like a really cool guy and WOW what a talent. One of those rare artists where his guitar playing and singing are at a very high level that few reach. And I can relate to what he is saying about some of the B.S. in high school. You got your education a little different way and followed your dreams. Good for you man! Great interview Joe, you are really good at this and you put it he other person at ease very quickly and ask great questions. Fantastic stuff!
Awesome interview - Marcus is such a fantastic player, his band is #1 on my list to go see once COVID lifts
Wow, loved it. In my eyes and to my ears both of you guys are superstars. It's sort of weird to listen to you be real people. I have sat for hours listening to the albums that I own from both of you guys, picking out licks and playing along, and there you are, on my phone, just a couple of regular guys,
Weirdly amazing. You make me laugh and smile, I'm on the edge of my seat, hanging on every word. You guys are great.
Thanks for the show Joe. Thanks Marcus.
Thank y’all so much! Absolutely love this youngin’!

First saw Marcus on YT with Playing For Change, knew of Joe but got hooked on performances with Beth Hart
Yep! Fantastic interview again Joe. Many thanks to both.
Great interview. Two superstars just talking shop. I love it❤
Brilliant series Joe, I’ve been waiting for this one and it didn’t disappoint 👌 would be amazing to see you guys on same stage?
Yes it would!!!
That was the quickest 42:19 of my life . Im a Marcus King fan and of all the guests uv had on this guy is my favorite . U can sure pick em in more ways than 1 .love the channel .
Thanks to both of you for sharing. Cool
Thanks a lot for those great videos I’ve been watching here from France. Some musicians I’ve never heard of like Marcus King! What a great discovery. A real joy to listen to his last record. Looking forward to see the next video!
My to favourite people on the Planet thanks much love.....
🎸🎼🎵🎶🎵🎶........
Love you both! Great interview, thx😎🤘
Two of my favorites ...Jobo and Marcus King...can't wait to see you in Macon soon!
Thanks for doing that Joe really enjoyed it!
Guy's take it from an old rocker that loves a cranked marshall. PROTECT YOUR HEARING
What you said??? Louder please...😅
100% agree. As much as I love a cranked tube amp, I do not want to be deaf or have my ears ringing when I'm laying down to go to sleep at night. Would love to know how Derek Trucks' ears are holding up considering he uses no in-ears or stage monitors.
@@evancrocker5343 that ringing will drive you insane at times. I have it bad. I need background noise to sleep. A friend of mine actually has his doctor break his eardrum so it would stop. He'd rather be deaf in one ear. Yes I've thought about it too
Love me some MLK. Love what he’s all about.
Awesome 😎
Waiting for that 😀
Love JB. Big, big fan of MK. Can't wait to see them live, in person. Man, I hate 'Rona.
Great show!!!!!
Great interview! It would be amazing if you could release an album together 👌🏻
Todos son buenos....
Pero Marcus King es increíble.
NAILD it Real
Joe, in reference to the KTBA Newsletter which arrived on 3/4/21, am I correct in understanding that you and your KTBA Team will be offering the Fueling Musicians Stream-a-thons again this year starting on 4/18/21? Similar to last year...a couple of days a week, several hours each day??? Hope I understood correctly.
Your 2020 Stream-a-thons were my *_FAVORITE_* thing to do last year...listening to GREAT music and visiting with Live Chat friends!!!
In addition, the Fueling Musicians Program provides us with inspiration to help musicians weathering the pandemic and all the various lockdowns! ❤️.¸¸.☆
Joe, how about Robben Ford and Vince Gill? Both in Nashville in the time of COVID. VG was also a friend and contemporary with Danny Gatton.
Love the shows, when are you gonna get Zakk Wylde, Kirk Hammett, and Toni Iommi on the show to get a bit HEAVIER 😀
Vermont ski trip the shy girl came alive
Do an interview with Toby Lee
It's wild Marcus got a Gibson Signature Series model before Charlie Starr of Blackberry Smoke...WoW!!!
Good for him, at least Gibson gets a few things right...lol
Oh when jb mentioned the double door..that was charlotte.

Great interview!
Marcus I love that Wildflowers and wine, I love that red ES345.....1960? So you guys don’t have to be loud, you have proven it, Elvin Bishop used a Princeton on his 100 years of the blues with Charlie musselwhite, Hats off to both of you for keep keepn on
