@@ctrlaltdestroy8821 Well, the US economy has grown tremendously the past few years, the Venezuelan economy contracted by 80%. The US has issues with corruption, but Venezuela is a country where people often struggle to get potable water and the government is just letting the country fall apart instead of admitting its policies don't work.
@@TheDirtysouthfan the US economy has had ups and downs, but it always continues in growth. That’s the whole point of capitalism. As many problems as it causes, it’s still better than communism. And no true communist country has ever existed. Venezuelan leaders preach communist ideals, but like all purported “communist” regimes before them, it’s nothing more than a small minority ceasing all the capital and resources and economy to wield control over the populace. Nations like this will always be impoverished and full of strife because they fail to realize that to develop as a country, you need everyone chipping in, having an incentive to do so, being rewarded for it, and encouraging innovation and progress. Communism/Socialism has never been about anything other than absolute political and social control.

What’s funny about this bit is the US actually has the highest incarceration rate in the world (highest percentage of population in jail), over 3 times higher than Venezuela.
655 per 100k (0.66%) in US versus 199 per 100k (0.20%) in Venezuela.
What is also funny, there is going on decline of incarcations in both countries. What makes it funny is, just looking at the numbers, you can easily spot out which one is natural and which one is by political choice (refusing to prosecute certain types of crimes).

Yes, in Venezuela violent criminals are allowed to remain on the streets because that way they can terrorize and intimidate the rest of the population, and this violence has led to a mass migration that benefits the Maduro regime. As a Venezuelan I can tell you there is nothing funny about that, though. Also, since you're clearly into statistics, do you want to compare the rate for homicides and other violent crimes, or the rate of crimes that never lead to an indictment?

Venezuela is a beautiful country. But the gov there is terrible. My boyfriend is from Peru and we went to Venezuela so we could see his sister that was on a mission trip there. Tbh this is a great rep of Venezuela officials

@trapd00rspider well, between going there and talking with the locals and my boyfriends sister that had been living there and assisting the starving people. Yeah I got a pretty good look.
Born and raised in Venezuela, here's my take: your boyfriend is right. Most people are great, we have beautiful landscapes, but have lived under a ruthless dictatorship for 25 years, which is pretty much all my life. Government sucks. The only unrealistic thing about this clip is that the officials speak English
