Cannot recommend this enough for listening. C. A. Bünte studied with Celibidache in 1946-1949, had witnessed nearly all of the important Berlin Philharmonic concerts with Furtwängler and knew him personally as well. In Bünte's autobiography he tells an important story where he saw Karajan and Furtwängler perform Bruckner's 5th within a week of each other in 1942 and what he learned from it. Like Mr. Schatzkamer I don't understand why Bünte did not have a career like the 'big names' with the record labels and major orchestras. The way I've understood it, his career was blocked from the spotlight by Karajan and later Barenboim. In any case this is a model performance and there is a lot to appreciate and learn from on this youtube channel. Many thanks for all the uploads

    lieber beider Buntes.
thank you so much Mrs. Bunte for your phone call 2 weeks ago.It was a great honor for me to talk to you and to give my best to your husband.
I believe your husband is one of the greatest conductors. It has been a mystery to me why your husband is not better known.without your great site i would never have known of your husband.
your husband is greater than Karajan, greater then Schuricht, Schmidt Isserstedt, etc.another mystery is why your husband did not get invites with the BPO and record offers from the major companies.
thank you for your great site and I hope you will always be healthy and to add more performances from your husband.
Please give my regards to your husband and i am happy to hear that he is doing well.

      Dear Mr. Schatzkamer,
thank you very much for the gracious and positive reviews of
      C. A. Bünte - once again from New York. I really appreciate it! The audience in
Berliner apparently felt the same in more than 600 concerts. These concerts
between 1947 and 1997 always have been sold out. Wikipedia shows that Bünte
conducted 1000 concerts, often these have been in 20 European, 14 Asian and 3
      South American countries.
He also conducted often at the beginning of the Berlin
Philharmonic Orchestra. A powerful conductor gave him a hard time developing
his career. Bünte has produced 30 records and CDs!
      C. A. Buente still lives in Berlin and loves the modern
possibilities to spread out his wonderful music into the world!
      Kindest regards from Germany!

when I first started listening to your performances on Y-tube I could not believe that I had never heard of you.My listening at home is confined to the great conductors of the golden age of German culture.I include golovanov of russia in this category.I include you Herr maestro in my favorite 5 conductors.they are Furtwangler,Carl August Bunte,Mengelberg,Klemperer, Kna, and Golovanov. It is 6 and not 5. I was never good in math.Mush of my listening today if from the live performances of Maestro Bunte and all I can say is thank you so much for enriching my life.
I wish you and your Wife many many years of good health
      best wishes,
