Sadly it is. I played it and it's what I believe that by daylight should be. Of course they couldn't get everything from the video game into the board game, but this game seems fair for both sides.

@@Fringewonder pretty much any rts game or left 4 dead 2. They aren’t too complex to look into and do adjustments too whatever side has op units or underpowered unit. The developers that make rts games as well listen too the feedback of their communities and they understand how their games work at all levels of play. Can’t say the same for behavior.
@HyenaBlak Multiplayer RTS matches are not typically asymmetrical (each side typically has access to full range of their units and abilities, and can counter their opponents blow for blow).
L4D is a PvE game, not PvP.

Played the board game and had a great time playing it. Played both sides, survivor and killer (the hag). It was tough yet rewarding.
Yeap, I think many players atleast was expecting a game where you move around a grid with hidden positions etc. and would be turned off because "wait, killer knows where we are?". But when you played it you get it and I agree, this is very solid game and it feels true to original and in many ways even more inline with the theme then a desktop game. And what is interesting - at first on early stages this WAS a hidden movement game that probably closer to what players would expect, but they decided that this is not working and changed... And I feel in the end it played off, again, to me this is an amazing game.
As someone who backed the collecter’s edition this gets me really excited! The game looks fantastic and faithful to the video game itself! It’s one of my favorite games to play and I’m gonna love playing this with the family:)

Actualy to me and my *friends it was an other way, they picked it up pretty fast even when most of them are non-gamers. And I think this was kinda of L99 point to make a game that is easy enough to be your first ever boardgame. Maybe play first game without a skills, it would be kind of unbalanced this way, but it plays pretty fast.
It's actually very simple...if you've played a couple rounds of the videogame, the boardgame is very easy to learn.
It's either you getting old or you aren't a hobby board gamer because, believe it or not, this is a pretty basic game when comparing to a lot of other board games out there.
It's just a lot at once, but once you play a few rounds you'll get it
step one: buy the game.
step two: complain about the game not being a different game.
step three: ruin the game for people who actually like it and want to play.

Played it on Tabletop Sim a few months ago, was def more balanced and fun then the actual game lol. Can kinda do an AI killer too just by picking random cards for the Killer which still manages to be a challenge which is nice
Excellent video, very entertaining and explanatory, but I have a small question: If the survivor who is hung on the hook is not rescued in the same round, does he die or what happens to him?
For each survivor that is on a hook during the clean-up phase, a token is added to the sacrifice track. On the next round of actions, if that survivor is still on the hook when their turn occurs, their turn is skipped. If they are left on the hook for that entire round, another sacrifice token will be added to the sacrifice track during the clean-up phase. The killer wins by filling up the sacrifice track with eight tokens. Survivors cannot die in the boardgame.
Gonna check more videos. They way she explained, its smmed like the source naterial, where playing kikler is a miserable experience

What are the red and blue perk looking cards for? I haven't seen anything about them in the book or online.
There is an optional way to play in which you can edit your loadout of perks, changing your survivors or killers abilities in the game and creating powerful builds
Is there any community out there makeing homebrew killers for this board game? Or just adapting the license killers that couldn't be added on the collectos edition?
There are some that I've seen, though while Level99 Games normally is happy to endorse or support fanmade content, the licensed nature of this game means they can't provide support for said fanmade content. HOWEVER the company has put out comments and hints saying that at some point during the early part of this year, we should be hearing news about possible expansions for Dead By Daylight, presumably for the next batch of killers that the video game has added that the board game did not yet receive
I just got the game and its a lot of fun! My game only came with one entity token.. can survivors sabotage more that 1 hook per round? I couldn't find the answer to this if you could let me know!
They can only sabotage one hook per round, if you ever sabotage another hook, you just move the token to the new hook

What happens when your survivor runs out of their sacrifice progress token? Also does the killer just keep racking up more tokens if the same survivor is hooked for several rounds?
The killer gets the hook token from the players board on the first hook and gets another during the cleanup for each hooked survivor, but if they hook the same survivor again the only get the hook token during cleanup
Not sure how I got here, also not sure about the game, but Becca looks nice.
How does it compare to Terrorscape?

I would of made a two maps that are the game. One for the killer and one for the survivor. You would have fog of war so the killer wouldn't know where you are. Then you play the game normally as normal but turn based.

It currently is 2-5 players. It will never be more than that. That's not how the game works. This is based on the video game.

You can have up to four people play as the Survivors and you need 1 person to play as the Killer. The game minimally needs 3 players for the game to work. If you are playing with 3 people, I believe, one plays as the killer and 2 people play as 2 Survivors each.

Question: are there boardgames that include a QR code that allows you to download an app that helps you make sure that all the game's rules are followed properly? If not: why isn't this a thing yet?
Quite a lot of tabletop games are coming with digital somethingorother now, be it a rules reference, sort of AI (not the nasty kind) NPC or narrator, or a full blown digital version.

I do have a question though. What if by chance all 4 survivors are hooked? Is that an auto won for the player who is playing the killer?
Each survivor starts the game with one hook progress token on their board, which is added to the progress track the first time they are hooked, meaning that they are worth less subsequent times they are hooked. However, it also means that if you ever get all 4 survivors on the hooks at the same time, you've already won via the progress track. As far as I can tell, I don't think it's possible to even hook all 4 in the same exact round, but even hypothetically, by end of round you will have 8 progress should you accomplish that
The survivors have to speak so the killers can hear, what he can't hear is they are all using their phones under their table on Discord.

Actualy you can in some sence, but its not viable. Because you get more tokens if you hood different peoples and even if you face-camp they could still unhook pretty easy lying.

It generally favors the survivors if all players are at an equal skill set, however I would say that if the killer player is experienced, they have a higher ceiling of potential and can even things up

Going to quote the rulebook here for you: "If you reveal any card other than "Wait" and you cannot move, then you lose the opportunity to interact with that card."

The first time each survivor gets hooked, they're essentially worth a guaranteed 2 points that turn, so if the killer manages to get each survivor on the hook at the same time, the game should already be over

When you're on the hook, your turn is essentially skipped on the next round, but the longer you are on the hook the more progress you give the killer toward their win condition

Pretty annoyed that everyone who contributed the most to the Kickstarter will get their copies about a month after retail release. I don’t mind waiting for kickstarters, but how they’ve handled it is very unethical business.
