- The course of my life changed forever on October 27th, 2022.
Welcome to the epic sequel to my car almost breaking down, and watch as something that started off as a joke eventually turns into reality.
Welcome to Tasmania.
Will truly miss this voice. I am happy there are many videos to listen to. Sorry for everyone's loss.
Rewatching everything now, and it all has such a sad tone
Fly high with your birds Alex 🕊️
I miss you, Alex! I’m crying that you’re not here with us anymore :( I wish you were able to travel around Australia photographing different birds and meeting your fans who love you ❤ Thank you for your lovely voice and being such a special person. Even though we never met, I will always remember you 🦜🩷
Watching this with the title in mind, I thought ‘is what changes your life forever getting food poisoning from eating oysters in the wild?’ 😮😂
The word of the year for 2022 is Goblin-mode and when I saw Alex sitting on the rock at the Beach being mad at strangers for scarying birds away, I now knew the true meaning of that word😂❤️❤️
You should get a plot of land, build the sanctuary and a tiny home or two and make them bird themed. Then you can name the tiny homes after different Native Australian birds and rent them out.
"There is a duck....but I don't see a lemonade stand...." I love how your brain makes that reference too
I love that you’re having such a great time and you’re feeling more like yourself! So pleased for you!
If you go to her main channel she is now moving to there ❤
Seeing you be so happy and excited for life in Tasmania has really helped me feel hopeful that things can get better as someone struggling with mental illness. Thanks for sharing with us, Alex!
"Paradise is next to a dangerous hole" has to be my new favorite quote. 🤣🤣🤣
Im so sorry for the comments on your main channel, we know you’re just happy and love to see it! Please don’t let them bring you down, they don’t know the true happiness with a sexy mermaid tail upside down ❤❤❤
Loved ur videos it’s so sad ur gone 😢 RIP Alex 🦅
Oh god the start of this video is so trippy, it's like I'm in some feverish drug trip lol. Glad to see more side quests again! I'm so happy for you ♥ When I moved out of my home country to UK my whole life got so much better. I think somehow I wasn't able to escape all the crap in my home city cause I saw the same places and travelled the same routes every day so in a way the toxicity never left me, but when I moved away from it all my life became so much brighter and I was able to finally start healing! I mean I still struggle but it's so much better than what it used to be.
Edit: Never mind about the fever dream, I think the video hadn't processed properly yet so it was like all distorted sound and slow motion hahahah
Alex please know that so many of us are happy you are doing better now! ❤ I do understand why people were concerned, but they didn’t ask in a good way. It was a bit of a sudden change on our end. You being happy now is what matters the most. Excited to see all your adventures to come and what you wish to share with us!! ❤❤
Hi Alex , glad to see you enjoying Tasmania, it truly is an amazing place….the beach often feels spongy when there is a shitload of seaweed buried and it’s slowly rotting away ….now back to the video 😂
Every time I watch a video of hers, I go straight to the comments. I see people commenting prior to her passing and after, and it shows how many people loved her.
Rest in peace sweet Alex
I was buying school shoes for my son yesterday and you walked past the shop we where in in town, you looked happy which was great to see, though I know a smile can hide a lot of things and someone walking past doesn’t give the whole picture. My son spotted you too and goes rather loudly so the shop heard “mummy, that’s the lady with the green bird and the pigeons”
@prettypastelsidequest Alex running back towards the camera at 10:30 is giving big "I've got a jar of dirt" energy 😂😂
Edit... I've just made it to the part where she indeed quotes that exact line 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️😂😂😂😂 amazing
Your living the life I wish I could, from the friends to the spontaneity, to the happiness, I'm so glad your doing so well!
I love seeing how happy you are now and have you've found a place that gives you that much joy, as well as what you've shared with us about your journey through life, it's honestly made me so happy for you & really grateful that you do share what you share with us.
Omg the bird series is such a good idea would love to see it! Also I'm so happy to see that you're thriving and finally getting back to your old bubbly self again, love you so much, you inspire so many people💕💕💕
I love the way you try to catch all of the bird photos 😂. Alex the Pokémon photographer
me, watching the crabs silently wondering if Alex is managing to take photos, hears the "click, click, click, click, click" of the rapid photos really quietly in the background, me: silently cheering, lol, loving this video so far
I shall be watching this in the morning, just wanted to thank you Alex because of your love of photography, I started to photograph life and have fallen in love with it so deeply. I shall be saving up for a proper photography camera but in the mean time my phone camera shall do.
Also love seeing how much better you have been doing down in the land down under-under, there's nothing like a fresh breath of life to keep you going. Sending much love to you.
buy a vacation house, near Penguin, so people can rent it out to go see the fairy penguins! And then get your pigeon sanctuary and have the best of both worlds! The friends in Sydney, and the friends in Tazmania.
OR buy a piece of land, and put some tiny houses on it to rent it out and have pigeon sanctuary in one!
I was having such a bad time back last year; little did I know that all the Hell I went through would have led me up to the point I am at right now. I am eating better, working now (honestly didn't ever think I would work again due to my anxiety), fixing to move and buy a car. Just because last year and the mess I was in, I basically looked at the state I was in and decided I am not giving up. I am not laying down and letting life just take me over. Thing is, I have never been the type of person to just give up on anything, I try to fix whatever I can in life even if its unfixable. I will drive myself insane trying to fix it. I was worried when I see such a dramatic change in your videos, can't help it. I know that we don't know each other personally but I still worry about you when you aren't posting because well, I have a heart for one thing. The only thing that matters in life is your happiness, from what you said in the previous video that Daniel supported the move. I think we were all just so shocked to see so much change, not sure about the other people posting but being a addict in recovery, change is something we fear HIGHLY. Change scares the living daylights out of me. I deal with it the best way I know how at times, but it still scares me to death. I do enjoy seeing all your postings, whether its you stuck in a mermaid tail or snuggling birds. Doesn't matter to me either way at all. Keep marching forward girl, you are doing so well!
I'm not able to buy your photos at the moment but I can sit through ads to support you. Sending well wishes always xo
I can't express how much I loved this video. I adore birds and ornithology, I even committed my studies to conservation of birds in College. Birds genuinely bring me so much joy. Seeing someone else get as excited about seeing birds out in the world as I do means so much to me. I can't even describe it properly. Thank you so much for sharing the birds and I would love to see more! You're doing amazing
First, such good vibes and I love it. Second, you gremlin walking away from people as you curse them is my favorite thing ever. I feel you. Third , I hope all your bird sanctuary dreams come true. You deserve that 💜
So I love Alex's videos, and idk what it is about this one that has her so intrigued, but my pitbull sat and watched this entire thing. Didn't look away once. Never seen her watch something so intensely. Lol I think we have a new fan on our hands lol
Alex falling over photographing birds.... and that's why she is covered in bruises. Greetings from a fellow klutz who is constantly covered in mystery bruises.
Witches hats 🤣 Good vibes, Alex. That's what your videos give me. Things can be going absolutely wrong on all fronts, but we can still find them 💜
It looks so beautiful there and something about this video was so relaxing. Was a bit weird hearing Kettering in the middle of it though living close to the one in England 😂 I love the bird photography, travelling round and taking photos of birds sounds like heaven.
Seeing you live your best life is so inspiring, Alex. Thank you for sharing this time with us ❤
I would love to watch a series of you must going out taking pictures. It is very satisfying and soothing to watch. Plus your photography is awesome
So lovely to see you posting on this channel again(and on the main channel of course). I got really worried and sad when you stopped posting because I was really enjoying watching the series. Excited for more thriftmas content over on the main channel with your lovely new tassie friends. My partner has been trying to convince me to leave Sydney for Tassie for the last couple of years and he is really loving your content at the moment too.
When you spoke of playing video games with ominous music 🎶 starting to play, the tune of Jaws began in my head 😆
Himself is well versed in asbestos abatement. Avoid asbestos if possible because it requires extensive skilled labor to remove. It can triple the cost of a property.
I take comfort because she had such adventures in Tasmania ❤ And grateful because she shared them with us❤
The oyster eating made me extremely nervous. I know Alex turned out well enough because this footage is from a little while ago but it still made me worry.
I'm so happy you're having a great time and feeling like yourself!
I love that you are so happy down here in Tassie!
You are literally thriving! 🙌🏼
You need to checkout White Beach & Roaring Beach on The Tasman Peninsula! It is so stunning down there! 😍
I am all for the holiday home in dangerous hole 🤣😅 imagine the marketing puns!! I so, so love this content and seeing you so happy! 💕 x
I can see why she wanted to move there. Lovely place and people.
Yay - so nice to see a new upload from you. My biggest fear is running out of petrol. So glad you made it!
Whoever mentioned lilsimsie and Stanley the hotdog is now my favourite person
"omg there's a bird on a wire!" Is reminding me SO MUCH or when my husband and I moved up here after we got married, here being where I'm from, St. Louis (Missouri, in America), he's from Seattle. Here it's super common to see what he calls 'tunnels' of birds, there will be a wide black strip of birds going across the sky for just ages, meters and meters I suppose. I didn't realize, but apparently that's not common elsewhere in the country, but we're smack in the middle of a lot of migration paths so apparently that's why. We also have lots of random birds like hawks and blackbirds and crows and such, and some areas nearby have large eagle populations! If you ever come to the Midwest in America, would definitely recommend, eagles are best around February or March 😊💜
I totally thought an " Alex rents a RV and bird tours Australia " series would be awesome
you just..you just eat it, directly from the shore..? haha I've never seen anyone do that
I now have this vision in my head of an alternate universe me wandering out on a seaside one day and suddenly feeling a *presence* and I look behind me, and it's Alex lurking in the shadows with a telephoto lens silently cursing my existence.
HAHAHAH
Penguin is so cute. Also my Nan is from Ulverstone and near her old house there was a beach that had thousands and thousands of soldier crabs. Really cool.
4 minutes online OFC I'll watch!
Thank you so much for sharing this with us
Legit never seen a crab walking around before! Thanks!
Welcome to Tassie 😊 hopefully we may cross paths photographing birds somewhere within the state!
This is a very real how it started vs how it's going scenario 😅. But seriously I've commented it before but I'm really happy for you Alex! 😊❤
you all have soo much fun together it's lovely to see Alex shine with pure happiness hope i can join the discord at someone point once its got an invite up again
I love the new direction you’re taking with your videos and love to see you do the things that brings you joy 🎉
falls on ass, starts taking pictures bc if it fits it sits! this was lovely alex thank you💖lol
Hey Alex just wanna tell you that if you did wanna buy a house here please don't buy one to use as a holiday house because there's a housing crisis here at the moment and we need all the housing we can get so it would be better to move here full time so that you don't have a house sitting down here empty for a majority of the year. 💕
on her main channel she talks about moving to Tasmania full time
@@kira-minoo yea ik just wanted to respond to this vid 👍
okay, Alex eating oysters she found in the wild made my anxiety go up. I would be so scared to get ill because of it.
Why? If they are living in the wild usually safer then anywhere else you get them
@@lovinglifewitheli well I don't like oysters in general, but that's beside the point. In my country we are thought to not randomly eat things in the wild, so when i see other people do it, I always get slight anxiety for them because i don't want them to be ill haha
I love that you've found so much inner peace in Tasmania! Have you come up to Launceston yet? The Cataract Gorge is home to many different species of birds.
I don't know if this was something you were still thinking of doing, but I would love you to do a bird photography/meet up around Australia. Especially if you came to SA. It would be so much fun to watch.
I love wildlife photography and I live in the Pacific Northwest so there’s so many unique birds like treecreepers and mergansers so nice to see another bird photographer
My home state of Minnesota has the worlds biggest ball of twine… lol my home town has a giant snowman!
this video could easily be re-titled, "Getting Distracted With Alex for 45 Minutes"
Pause at 20:04 . You're welcome! 😄
1km from empty? There’s birds? Tasmania was just meant for you. Love these videos, so beautiful to see you in love with a place and its people.
honestly from a sensory perspective, those quick shutter click noises are giving me so much serotonin right now lol
Thanks for sharing this Alex…Sometimes you just have to follow your heart rather than your head 😉👍🏼
10/10 would buy a silly bird calendar
If you ever come to New Zealand, I'll take you to the bird sanctuary on an island called Tiritiri Matangi
So happy for you! Looking forward to the future
I saw a plover yesterday and then I saw four little round puffballs that I assume were the baby form of the leggy bird bouncing around while it supervised
Anyone else think she looks really ill !?! Not coming from hate she just looks really unwell
I went to Tasmania for my honeymoon in September and hubby and I agreed we need a holiday home in Tasmania. You should watch a show called “The Kettering Incident” Alex. A show made in Tassie
I was really wondering if you made it to the gas station from the other video! Sweet relief! Also, love the RHOBH reference. 😊
Dollarydoos lolol (googled to make sure it was a simpsons reference as i thought, and google automatically tries to give you a "Dollarydoo to USD conversion hahahaha)
Wow those crabs are good at digging themselves into a hole😮
Where those folks are on the beach is the Snug Campground.
She’s dead 😓
@@MissEddieBlueKawaiiKrafts sadly, yes.
Turn the house into the pigeon home - and build tiny cabins for your holiday housing.
💖
That is definitely a Zelda shrine quest, where you have to time the tide and take a blue flame across in the rain…
I kinda gasped when you slurped that oyster but then I was like "why not" xD
I would be angry as well at random people scaring birds of :0
I remember when Queenstown started getting the greenery back when the sulfur mines closed. The locals were cheesed cos all the new pretty, healing growth meant no tourists.
Alex, your eye contact with the camera - us - when the people are walking by is gold! I feel like we shared a moment 😂🤗
I've not finished the video yet but my brain immediately clicked on this in excitement wondering if this was gonna be a Tasmanian tiger sighting lmao
It's 1am and I have to be up for work in the morning... yes, I will watch this entire video.
12:25 Probably a man made sandbar to keep ships from docking there is my best guess. Could however be a part of an old warf or old retaining wall for something.
Ive never known anyone else to completely adore Plovers the way I do, I'm so glad there are people out there who do!
Also super odd question but... at the start of the video at the petrol station, what sort of mask was that, it looks like a really great quality mask.
Gagebrook has some great birds! ;)
Have to watch this one tomorrow as I'm off to bed 😴 can't wait to see your adventure 😊
I remember years ago, maybe the 90s(?), there was a story in the Sunday paper about an entire town of about 40+ houses, complete with golf course and a sports club (something like an RSL or workers club) for sale for some stupidly small amount of money , I think it was, I want to say half a million dollars, I could be wrong,,, and you could buy a 4 bed, 2&1/2 bath fibro and tin house in Tassie for around 10 - 15k, at the same time a derelict terrace house in Pado (Sydney) sold for 900k, and it sorta became a bit of a joke...we were very seriously contemplating buying down there but life got in the way...
I live on the coast in Central Queensland and literally have coastal raptors in my back yard daily hahaha 😆
Why do I feel like Alex would go into overdrive if she visited the Danube Delta in Romania and all of its birbs. Omg especially durring migrating season when all of the northern birbs come and rest in the delta. My mom doesn't even loke birds that much but she was stunned by the views when she visited. I can imagine Alex on one of the tour boats with her giant camera just spamming photo after photo of every critter XD.
I love all the D&D references 😂
7:18 In Germany we call these bird KIBITZ. One Kibiz and zwo Kibitze.
I remember eating oysters in the wild when young, seeing you actually finding some in Tasmania, well darn it!
I'm in WA I have this spot I like in winter for the water birds spoon bills etc.. I have not been in years though I don't get out so much with my camera these days but going out with it on Sunday to take some photos of birds and stuff. Need to relax before surgery next week and this just helps. I hope you put the photos of the birds up to share would love to see them ☺️
