Right?! Lol also as a mentally ill person with many mentally ill friends I’m pretty sure mentally ill people can make jokes about being mentally ill lol I’m honestly tired of the gate keeping
I check both Alex's channels for new videos every single day. She's become my comfort person and her content is just perfect to me. I truly hope she gets to achieve everything her heart desires in Tasmania.
I feel like you would be a fun person to go thrifting with! I'm the same in having to look at everything because I don't want to miss seeing a fun item!
I feel so awful looking back at her past videos now and not knowing what she was going through and the mental pain she was in. I feel bad as a viewer like I should've been able to see she was hurting. 💔 I'm so glad she's in a better place and getting better. As someone with severe ocd and depression and adhd, it's a heck of an accomplishment just to move forward. This all being said I'm so sorry for what's going on with your feather baby. That's tough ❤
Antique shops are some of the best places to spend a day, whether you're shopping or just looking. We have one near me that gets a lot of furniture, décor, and props from Disney World and Universal. I think the coolest find in there, to me, was a set of Lupin III slot machines. If I had the money, I would have totally bought one for my boyfriend.
The desk with the leather top is a great price. All it needs is cleaned with a leather cleaner and the rubbed down with a leather conditioner to restore moisture content.
If anyone here ever wants really cheap versions of most of this dark wood furniture, come to pretty much any British charity shop and you can get them for less than £100. Or free on Facebook marketplace. This kind of furniture exists here in abundance and so few people want it meaning it's far too often destroyed or "upcycled". It's so refreshing to see this kind of furniture being admired!!
Thank you for sharing your antique shopping! I used to go with my family growing up. Maybe when you move to your next home you could furnish it with antique and Thrift store finds. It looks like a lot of fun! 😊
You've just saved me with these videos lol I've been having such a rough time and when I saw you had uploaded two new videos I just literally started crying cus I get to watch your wholesome content and forget everything else for a bit 😭 Thank you sm for being YOU and giving us these snippets of your life! Ik you don't know who I am but you have a special place in my life and I'm always excited to see your next steps. Rooting for you always!! 💘 🐔🦜
the insane asylum sign is hilarious, if you don't take it pls send it to me lolol. also same I'm in the "never been but definitely should have been hospitalized multiple times", the only reason I was never put in a mental hospital is I was REALLY good at hiding things from my parents. as someone with bpd I need this sign on my bedroom door lmfao
That emporium is brilliant. I think I was having the same reactions as you to everything. There were so many great pieces of furniture (that Japanese cabinet!) and I love those butterflies. We're definitely going to need a picture or video of Errol on his new stool. I hope Caitlyn's voice recovered!
Yay! I love just walking around looking at stuff with you. It is fun. Alex, when you buy your place in Tasmania you could find wonderful pieces in this shop.
Those merry go round birds would look great in your back yard or at the bird rescue you wanted to make! The people that would stay there would probably love to get pictures with them and the birds it would be really cute! 🐦
This makes me want so badly to go antiquing. I'd be in so much trouble if I went shopping with you. Having to fit everything into luggage would be my only saving grace.
If you have bought land please go and get those carnival ride birds! If you make an air b&b or just a visitors centre they would be great photo props somewhere. Also,if you ever visit England again, there is a place called Bygone Times that reminds me of the shop you were in. Went recently and it is chaos, from vintage clothes to home made items, to beanie babies to huge antique sideboards. You never know what will be there. Got an old sign, a vintage print and some cookies on my last visit.
As someone who’s been on a grippy sock vacation, I don’t think the psych ward sign is offensive or insensitive as long as the person who has it up also has been to the psych ward, because in that case it’s like making light of a negative experience
I grew up fifteen minutes from Althorp. My brother as part of the Scouts had to organise all the flowers for Diana back in 1997. Also locals pronounce it All-Thorpe
Gosh I would loooove that velvet lined drinks cabinet. It would show off all my crystals and pagan books and ornaments so well. Oh please read page 91 in the English homes book 🙏🏻🤍🙏🏻
OMG! I literally said to myself "You should get that for your door" right before you asked if it was insensitive to buy that for your bedroom door!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
There is so much beautiful furniture items there! So sad I don't live in Tasmania as I could furnish my whole house with that store, I love your thrifting videos, you make it an experience like we are all with you 💓💕
to be completely honest, this is the first video I’ve watched since PPP was doing hauls, but I’ve had a baby, so it’s not at the fault of you. I am loving these types of videos. I’m so glad that Tasmania has welcomed you with open arms and you’ve found more of your people. Try to convince me not to move to Tasmania after seeing these
There’s some fabulous stuff in this place! The English houses book you were looking at - was classed according to the different counties. An interesting find.
I live in Cambridgeshire, not far from Northamptonshire, and I was born and lived in Northamptonshire for a lot of my childhood. We don't say Shire like 'shy-er', we say it 'Sheer', and some say 'Shur'.
Love antique shopping, with someone else buying although there were some bargains. I am a sometime (has to be inexpensive and interesting) collector of kokeshi dolls. The thrift store looked packed with them! I was sad that Alex did not buy the love-heart chair, it looked adorable. Wise moving to new accommodations with the beautiful back yard. That first place looked like one of those horror movie sets where all the beautiful, but utterly brainless, college students get taken out one by one. Nice to see Caitlin...so envious of that beautiful hair.❤
Alex, I really feel like if you love antiques something that would be right up your alley is the Consolidated Glass cosmos pattern. It's antique (120+ years old) milk glass, with pastel flowers. I have their butter/cheese keeper and it's gorgeous. They also made lamps, pitchers, s&p, etc in the pattern.
Alex have you thought about doing some urbex exploring ?I think given your photography background you could take some wicked pics and sometimes these places will blow your mind with architecture
As to the antique book... The prices depends on how sort after they are, or how 'in' it is. So what might have been worth a lot in 2002 might be worth nothing right now 🙂
1. I'd put that sign on my door 2. I also thought that said gluten free when you first flashed over it lol 3. I love those butterflies and would absolutely get them all for my own house!
Is this at the Margate Train? It looks like it, haven’t been inside for a long time. But my husband takes our kids to the pancake train and lolly shop once in a while.❤
Aw I liked the psych sign! I have one on my home office door that says "Overworked and undermedicated." I think it's very tongue-in-cheek, and totally fine.
I really hope once you get settled into a nice house in tasmania you open up a po box or something. not sure how it'd go sending stuff from america but I'm sure a lot of your viewers would love to send you things to help decorate your house and everything, if that's something you're open to :)
Is that clarinet made of Wood!? Those are so much better quality than plastic! I played clarinet in Highschool and I managed to inherit my father's wood clarinet.
I can't believe you skipped right past that Labyrinth style door knocker. I would have bought that. And you can put whatever you want on your bedroom door, it's your house. Don't let anyone tell you what you can say or do in the privacy of your own home, your humor can be a dark as it can get, if people are bothered by your home decor choice or comedic style they probably shouldn't be in your home. You know?
I hate those code pay at the table thing's they don't work on my phone. Went to London for my birthday. The restaurant we went to had them at it kept going to different page's and ended on my PayPal account. I ended up leaving all upset. Happy New Year Alex 🎉 🥂🍾💖🎀XXXX
my partner and I were looking at homes in Tas because he grew up there & we are considering it, and found the house you are or were renting! I feel so bad omg. what are the chances?
The psychiatric ward sign might be a little iffy but the insane asylum one could definitely be a go because they aren't called that anymore and women were put in them for a lot less than being actually mentally ill, I say go back and get it!
If it's your home your bedroom, then you can decorate it anyway you darn well please. And if you're concerned about public opinion. How often do you show your bedroom door on camera anyway?
Please go home and take care of Lola and the rest of the animals. They need you! Please. I'm worried that after that news, you're still not home and taking care of them.
I think one's own bed room door would just about be the only place I don't find completely inappropriate for that sign! 😆
right! It would be a completely different story if it was the front door or something..
Agreed!
@@Isabella-yh2ot I have the same sign in a more modern style on my front door 😅😂
@@kleineoOoStern hey, whatever floats your boat. It’s just how i personally feel:)
Right?! Lol also as a mentally ill person with many mentally ill friends I’m pretty sure mentally ill people can make jokes about being mentally ill lol I’m honestly tired of the gate keeping

Me too
Me tooooo!! 💘
Same
I feel like you would be a fun person to go thrifting with! I'm the same in having to look at everything because I don't want to miss seeing a fun item!
I would sell everything in my house and start new with all the stuff from that store! Loved the furniture and decor!
I feel so awful looking back at her past videos now and not knowing what she was going through and the mental pain she was in. I feel bad as a viewer like I should've been able to see she was hurting. 💔 I'm so glad she's in a better place and getting better. I love watching your videos and seeing what type of stuff you can find in Australian thrift stores! It’s great!
As someone who has been on a psych ward many time I find that hilarious lol I want one for my room I'd 100% hang it by my door
These long videos are just everything! Please keep making them Alex!

I absolutely love and want that Labyrinth door knocker!!! The first one shown

Your friends are exactly like my friends haha I love it!
Alex Sees Objects And Names Them For 47 Minutes, The Video. I could listen to you do this all day xD
Thank you for sharing your antique shopping! I used to go with my family growing up. Maybe when you move to your next home you could furnish it with antique and Thrift store finds. It looks like a lot of fun! 😊
Added to my list, I wanna go tasmania, it looks like a fairytale, so pretty.

The Abbey Road sign at about the 4 min mark, the NW stands for North West as its a london street sign (England) :)

I absolutely would get those signs, with a family full of neurodivergeants it does sometimes feel like a madhouse 😆
I really enjoy these vlogs, keeping me company while I am awake with a migraine. Thanks for sharing 💗

Alex, when you buy your place in Tasmania you could find wonderful pieces in this shop.
I love how the real antique shops never leave the phone on the receiver correctly because they know will all the stuff in there that it may just ring.
I love the guy at the shops response to you leaving items to grab later. Perfect response :)
Wow that little house and view is SO beautiful. I could live there forever lol
That liquor cabinet is absolutely stunning 😯 I love the idea of lining it with velvet! I may have to do that to my shabby cabinet I have 😂
I love Alex.... "only $200" Thats expensive for me when I make $12/hr and rents $610.... My anxiety is through the roof. I'm so glad she is blessed.
It's random luck to be born into wealth
In the uk we have a show called antiques road show, I think you would be amazing at it x
"That's a gigantic croc!" A gigantic what?!? 🐓 😂 You're so funny! I totally misheard you at first! 😂
If you have bought land please go and get those carnival ride birds! If you make an air b&b or just a visitors centre they would be great photo props somewhere.

The awkward Tasmanian moment when he reveals the picture on the playmat and it's someone I slept with 🙃🙃🙃
Hobart is too small

I love this style of video. Alex you seem so happy, and real. Sounds silly saying real but you just have to be Alex.
I would of bought the psychiatric signs in a heartbeat 😭🤣
From a Melbourne thrifter, I am crying at these prices 😭 catch me on tha spirit of Tasmania with a truck 😆
I live in Cambridgeshire, not far from Northamptonshire, and I was born and lived in Northamptonshire for a lot of my childhood. We don't say Shire like 'shy-er', we say it 'Sheer', and some say 'Shur'.

I laughed at the psychiatric ward sign when I saw it - would absolutely put it on my bedroom door too!
That $380 table has been calling to me for so long. Every time I go I stare at it lovingly and wish
Holy crap. I love that place. I’d be in there for hours.
That airbnb is amazing
ooh i love getting a glimpse of fairy wrens hopping about
Alex have you thought about doing some urbex exploring ?I think given your photography background you could take some wicked pics and sometimes these places will blow your mind with architecture
Check out Gowans Auctions, held every Friday in Moonah (but you can check out the items Wednesday and Thursday.
That antique shop is so cute and cheap. Everyone I’ve been to is like “broken piece of wood, $10,000”
You've been to that train place before with Jenny. And you saw those carnival ride things too. It's in a previous video.
Referring to that English houses book, I'm from Northamptonshire 😄 very cool!
As to the antique book... The prices depends on how sort after they are, or how 'in' it is. So what might have been worth a lot in 2002 might be worth nothing right now 🙂
1. I'd put that sign on my door
2. I also thought that said gluten free when you first flashed over it lol
3. I love those butterflies and would absolutely get them all for my own house!
So happy you're still posting 😊
I always get so happy when I see your notifications ❤
Lolol I need that for my bedroom door truly
i would hang that psychiactric sign on my front door its a mad house here
You said sweden and i just remembered the vase you didn't knew was an expensive art piece 😂😂
Is this at the Margate Train? It looks like it, haven’t been inside for a long time. But my husband takes our kids to the pancake train and lolly shop once in a while.❤
manifesting good thrift finds this year!
Aw I liked the psych sign! I have one on my home office door that says "Overworked and undermedicated." I think it's very tongue-in-cheek, and totally fine.
House of Oysters, what's their sigil? - BWAHAHAHA!!
I really hope once you get settled into a nice house in tasmania you open up a po box or something. not sure how it'd go sending stuff from america but I'm sure a lot of your viewers would love to send you things to help decorate your house and everything, if that's something you're open to :)
I put a similar mailbox next to the guest toilet with readers digest in it.
Is that clarinet made of Wood!? Those are so much better quality than plastic! I played clarinet in Highschool and I managed to inherit my father's wood clarinet.
I would have spent way to much there😂
Cumbria, I’m from Cumbria, in the house book.
I want the tiny stool tooooooo!
love side quest 💗
I can't believe you skipped right past that Labyrinth style door knocker. I would have bought that.
And you can put whatever you want on your bedroom door, it's your house. Happy New Year Alex 🎉 🥂🍾💖🎀XXXX
I have the large green man door knocker on the table there.
Watching from Northamptonshire!! What’s the chances 🤯🤯🤯
Yaas! Waluigi! That's quality👌
Eyyyy I'm from Lincolnshire! (Although I don't sound like it hehe)
Maybe you can aks your new Tasmanian friends to store a few bigger items for you? 🥰
Are you an H3 viewer? “Emoootional Daaaamage” 😂
my partner and I were looking at homes in Tas because he grew up there & we are considering it, and found the house you are or were renting! I feel so bad omg. what are the chances?
Why would you feel bad? Tassie isn’t that big
Ayeee I'm from the Isle of Wight
omg they do archery
I’m a little lost ….Has she moved to Tasmania ..has she left her husband … she has 2 channels I watch both but I’m still confused
I mean its so "cheap" because wages there are a shit ton lower than in sydney
14:56 say it with me now, ~c h a t o y a n c y~
I think the bedroom phych ward sign is incentive because you've never been to one, but that's just me
I’ve been in the psych ward and would take no offense if someone were to hang that sign in their house.
Same I’d laugh and even feel able to laugh with them about being there myself
The psychiatric ward sign might be a little iffy but the insane asylum one could definitely be a go because they aren't called that anymore and women were put in them for a lot less than being actually mentally ill, I say go back and get it!
If it's your home your bedroom, then you can decorate it anyway you darn well please. And if you're concerned about public opinion. How often do you show your bedroom door on camera anyway?
At this rate you’ll need a truck to get home 😆
Love your videos, but can only watch 10min. at a time before getting motion sickness from all the sudden swivel movements 😅
Please go home and take care of Lola and the rest of the animals. They need you! Please. I'm worried that after that news, you're still not home and taking care of them.
This was filmed in October.
