      Yeah IT is old but the real reason why Canada is named like this is because in the langage of the native, Kanata was the word for village but Champlain (pretty sure you know Who he is) was thinking IT was the name of the place so he just used IT ans because at that Time, nobody liked the native, so no one learned the native language until Everyone was saying Canada to name the country (and yeah, the kanata was not a typo)

    I’m Canadian and in history class we learned it was named because when the discoverers tried to communicate to the indigenous people and they pointed to their village and said “Kanata” which meant village but the explores thought they meant it was the name of the land

    When he was talking about the boiling maple syrup, you have to try it. It sounds dumb but you pour it in snow, wait 30 seconds and roll it up with a popsicle stick. One of the best things I’ve ever had

    I stayed in Canada for a few months recently and boy do I miss it. I am obsessed with poutine, but I am also obsessed with the fact that I could get a variety of different foods like Mexican food easily. My part of Germany just doesn’t have many restaurants like that.

    as a Canadian i CAN say my family loves maple syrup, and my friends love it, and like everyone i know loves it, and also when it’s super cold, we bundle up but eventually when it’s getting warmer in spring or near the end of winter it’s stilll cokd but it’s t-shirt weather because we have been so used to the cold

      Actually it's because in Canada Quebec speak French but it's really different than the French from France a little bit like UK and Canada you know the English a little bit differentl but with Quebec and France it's more than just an accent actually some French from France can’t understand French from Quebec so that why they think we have a different language

      Not where I live (Ontario), For some reason the moment it starts getting cold here, everyone throws on a sweater over their t-shirt AND puts on a coat, Passed someone who seen me in a T-shirt and let me know it was "kinda" cold outside and they were wearing a coat and most likely a sweater under the coat since I kinda know them personally, I shrugged and waited for the elevator to take me down. Everyones different.

      Yeah I live in the US but I’ve always wanted to go to Canada. It seems so fun. And yeah the population is quite small. Tokyo has a higher population than Canada but it still seems so fun. I’ve always wanted to move there because I hate the heat. And I’ve always heard Canada is cold. And also there’s free health care in Canada.

    Check out "Part of our heritage" commercials from the 90's. Kanata is the word for village in the language of the native tribe they encountered (can't remember which tribe) so the explorers thought they where talking about all the land... hence Canada 🇨🇦

    Canada was actually named from when Samuel de Champlain (french explorer) mistook the first nations for saying “kanadaah” which means village for canada and that is how canada was ACTUALLY named (i live in toronto btw)
