When I was 10 or 11, my parents told me "Don't eat the seeds of fruits, they'll grow inside you!" and I was absolutely horrified by that thought. I thought a tree was gonna grow in my lungs if I breathed in pollen, and I started crying when I accidentally swallowed an apple seed. Then my parents had to tell me they lied and I wrote the story 'The Boy Who Became a Tree' to vent out whatever the fuck I went through lmao
That's not to say a plant can't grow out of you, I had a great-uncle who somehow got a wheat seed embedded in his ear, and it took root and sprouted. It wasn't very large or very healthy, and didn't survive transplanting, but it was a plant growing out of a person.

VR headsets produces images that makes your eyes focus like it's focusing farther. It's totally different when you focus too closely and for too long on a computer monitor or smart phone. The ciliary muscle will strain by being in a contracted state trying to focus your lens.

As someone who wanted glasses as a kid and sat in front of the tv, my plan worked when I was about 12 or 13 and I don't regret it lol I love glasses they don't feel like a hassle at all imo 👍

3:30 I could be wrong but I think this came about because if you look at things closer to you too often your eyes will adjust so when you try to look at anything further away it's blurry.
3:57 i do that with my computer monitor because it makes me more aware of the things around me in my games and everyone yells at me like "thats gonna hurt your eyes!!!!" and sometimes it does when i take my glasses off but when i have them on it doesnt hurt

2:30 where i live pomegranates are one of the most common things (it is said to be one of the 7 plants the land is blessed with, being wheat, barely, grape, fig, pomegranite, olive, and dates.) And the pomegranite staining thing is believed here as well.

I'm pretty sure this is what caused me to need glasses.
I think why people believe sitting too close to the TV is bad for your eyes is because after some time it Starts to strain your eyes more than sitting further away it is similar with reading books without enough light. The eyes will be strained more and therefore you'll get tired faster. And if you don't let your eyes rest enough your sight gets worse.

It’s good to know someone is still watching three years later for the millionth time as well.
I think it has to do with adaption. Say I spend most of my time on my laptop, only about 1.5 away from my face. My eyes would start to adapt to short distances, and would begin to fail for long distances.
It's how I went from 20/20 to in the negatives over the course of a few years.
A TV at a normal distance wouldn't do much, but a close screen for long and frequent periods of time would ruin your far-sighted vision.
