      @@CBT5777That wouldn't work. The importance of History is to learn from our mistakes so we don't repeat them, however what they don't tell you is that it's not just the righteous good intentions people who are the only ones learning. Corrupt bad intentions people also learn from history.
      One example is they learned that enslaving the body works short term, but people will eventually rise up, people will eventually fight back even if it takes a few decades or centuries so instead they enslave the mind which is much harder to break free from especially if they brainwash you into putting the chains on yourself.
      If you look around you do you really think anybody would be able to get people to come together, and riot to take back control, and give it back to the people? The is No, everyone is too busy being at each other's throats over simplistic reasons like ethnicity, gender, identity, pronouns, political beliefs, religious beliefs etc... George Carlin is right the game is tilted, and it's a little too late so just enjoy life while you can, and hope full blown dictatorship doesn't happen in your lifetime.

    • @jgmediting7770

      The left wing is a totally separate bird. That is about removing the exploitation Carlin talks about. The leftist Liberal faction of the elite that controls the left in a capitalist system is what is part of the same bird as the right wing.
      America doesn’t have a political left wing, nor any media. Convincing people the likes of Biden, Obama, Clinton etc are the left wing when they’re soft right wing leftist Liberal is part of this informational control Carlin talks about.
      There used to be a political left wing in America. It ran as a third party in the early part of last century. The elite got scared enough to imprison the presidential candidate and purge that left wing. Indeed, it’s pressure from that left wing - the coalition of communists, socialists, and trade unions - that got the compromise of the new deal out of the elite last century. The new deal the elite has spent the past 40 years rolling back. This is what a century of propaganda demonising the left wing and socialism does.

    • @bretttaylor3787
      @bretttaylor3787 Před 2 měsíci

      Here we go with this nonsense

    • @jgmediting7770
      @jgmediting7770 Před měsícem

      The right wing and left wing are entirely separate birds. Fundamentally so, given the left wing of the political spectrum represents workers and is anti capitalist. You’re conflating the soft right wing leftist liberal faction of the elite with being left wing. That faction controls the dems and the left in a Liberal democracy. They’re not left wing. They’re not even the middle of the spectrum. They’re soft right wing. So yes, they are two wings of the same bird. That’s bird being capitalism, but you’re misidentifying one of them.
      Carlin was left wing. A socialist. America doesn’t have a left wing party. Precisely because of the dynamics of capitalism. It has two shades of right wing parties and different shades of right wing media. All owned by different factions of the same class, who are all varying shades of right wing. The big club carlin was referring to was the minority group within capitalism, the capitalist class. The owners of the country.

    Now age 45, I have faithfully followed GC’s career from ‘Carlin at Carnegie’ in 1982 as a mere 4 yr old. (Thx ma & pa) As I progressed in age & maturity, so did his material. When he finally hit his hard hitting stride in the early 90s, I began to memorize every released album, not by design but rather because his comedy, ideas & wordsmith seemed to already be brewing in my own head. It all made perfect sense & was undeniably hilarious.
    So as you stated, a person must have felt totally insane to speak these obvious rational ideas 15-20 even 30 yrs ago as if we were conspiracy nut cases, and you would be right. So we just tucked away and watched the reality unfold. And frankly that’s why I enjoy watching reactions such as this. There is only one truth in this world. Thoughts & opinions only help to keep us there. But likewise, they continue to keep us afraid & ignorant. I personally look at George Carlin as the badass uncle I never got to meet. And everyone else should as well. Not a prophet, just a patient observer unafraid to come around once in a while & sock you in the gut with reality, all while still tickling your balls!!

I'll bring up something most people don't seem to have a clue about. You don't want to replace AC units, heaters or any appliance that was manufactured before 1998. Everything after that was built by 12-year-old Chinese girls in China. Child slave labor to cut costs. Yes, this is why NOTHING ever works for more than a year or two. Then you have to replace it again with the exact same thing. DO NOT DISPOSE OF YOUR OLD APPLIANCES! Have them fixed with parts that were made in the USA. Unfortunately, that stopped a few decades ago, so supplies are limited. We need a President who will build back the USA that way is was 40 years ago. Factories and jobs. I have long said that George saw what we were dealing with today decades ago. He has a brilliant mind, used comedy to “dumb” it down for everyday people. I have also long said this, in some ways I wish he were still here to see the BS that is happening today, yet again I don’t because I know it would scare the living shit out of me with him telling me what is to come.

    Adding to problems more recently are states "banning" (more then just FL) entire subjects that are needed. I was lucky to have teachers early that taught me to think and learn more then just recite for a single test. Though i regret not learning another language or two, not many options when i was there to select from. Many people i game with from many other countries know at least 3 languages fluently before they are 18. Not everyone even i went to school with grasp what may be called "critical thinking" now but many did. Each area is different, our school system is becoming more current with notebook connections for homework, classes (no more snow days), teacher contact and schedules etc., that make it easier. I believe all school funding is split in the state based on student numbers in each school. I'm sure its more involved then that but base theory is there.

    The problem in America is that the country is getting better and better for corporations, and getting worse for the people. In the early seventies, the U.S. was moving in the direction of making life better for people. The Supreme Court was making decisions that made life better. Then corporate and religious groups teamed up, to put an end to that. They talked about activist Courts and a country losing family values. They sold many people on the idea that if it is good for people it is bad, if it is good for Corporate America, it is good. Since then the U.S.has spent their time removing rights from people. They divide the population any way they can to make sure people focus on fighting each other and ignore what is happening around them. The number one weapon is fear. Watch an evening of commercials, how many products are being marketed based on fear? It used to be that Political parties both understood that both parties were trying to make the country better, they had different ideas on how to do that. Now the other party is the enemy of the Country, and they want to destroy it. It used to be that the U.S. had one voice on the international stage. Now if Putin puts out his propaganda, it is just a matter of time before some in the U.S. are spouting the same lies.
    You have an election coming up this year. Right now it seems that no matter what happens, half the country will not trust the results. Russia is very happy. Western democracies around the world can see the end. If Democracy fails in the U.S., it is doomed the world over.

    Absolutely love hearing you discuss the actual issues after. If everybody did this we would be living in a free and fair society where everyone was treated equally, not just under the law, but because we all understood that that is how you have a good and enjoyable society. And your points regarding education are valid. IF we spent 10x on education we would see improvement just by the sheer fact of attracting more competent people to do the work of teaching, administering, and architecting schools. On the other side of that, we need people, the people sending their kids to school to be holding all of their institutions accountable and giving and demanding more and helping raise our mutual children with a sense of shared purpose in creating the people we want to enjoy and be responsible for the future. There really is no more important job for a parent or a citizen than doing that, yet we're like 'well, it's not MY kid, and if I say something maybe I'll get in trouble' (or whatever cultural roadblock we have against helping each other bring these rugrats into the future). /rant........ Anyways, thanks for demonstrating how to listen to Carlin. 'He's not joking folks', as he would say.

    Check out, The Dumbing Down of America. It started with the 'New Math' in '68, I was 11. It was just mass confusion and frustration. Then they took away phonics and replaced it with memorization, great if you're going to be an actor. Stopped teaching writing years ago and are just bringing it back now. But we've got a couple of generations that can't write and don' know why they need it anyway. Funny how you can still buy Hooked on Phonics online, but it's not advertised. Huh.
