George was doing everything he could to wake us up before he left us. RIP to one of the GOATS. Not just a GOAT comedian, but a GOAT human being.
Very much agreed. I wish he was here to tell us his thoughts on the shit going on these days. The man was a prophet in the guise of a comedian.
Aint that the truth!
The left wing truth
And now it feels like for a lot of people, being awake/woke is evil satanism. Rightwing propaganda/culture has turned it into a prejorative, bastardized its meaning. Rightwing propaganda is effective. It manipulates our emotions and short-circuits the frontal lobe of the brain. The area responsible for critical thinking, rationality, and planning. It exploits ignorance and relies on misinformation, lies, and arguments supported by weak logical fallacies. Righwing propaganda prompts feelings of anger, rage, and fear in conservatives. Such emotions are addictive to a lot of humans. There is a reason why social media algorithms push rightwing controversial content on their platforms. Because it maximizes engagement. It gets CLICKS. So they profit off of the extra eyeballs and long engagement, selling ads space. Humans are addicted to emotions, including the emotions that can lead to negative/violent actions.
@JillVALENTINE320 truth is truth, George delt with observed truth.
The comedian, the philosopher, the historian, sociologist. The GOAT.
There will never be another!
Yes, but Dave Chappelle?
@@fostercatheadYou mean the rich sellout that sucks Elon Musks nut sack, that Dave Chapelle? Or do you mean past Dave Chapelle that had not lost touch with reality yet?
@@fostercathead George's legendary status spanned 5 decades and he was still delivering top-notch material like this comedy special at the age of 71. Dave's not far behind George, but lets see where Dave's at in 10 years, let alone at 71. :)
Good point.@@StarryStarryNocturne
He performed at my university around 1990. So glad I got to see him live. Asks a lot of questions, makes it funny, too, but makes you think.
George is my patron saint. This is his very last show that he did for HBO. He did 14 of them starting all the way back to 1977.
His oratory was fucking CLEAN. We need you, George.
George Carlin, the comedian, the philosopher….he made you think!
He made dumb people think. He literally just points out obvious half truths
My first album I bought on CD, with my own money, was Carlin’s PARENTAL ADVISORY EXPLICIT LYRICS. I remember walking from my high school at lunch hour to the mall to get it.
Let the one's who get mad, get mad. As in the words of Carlin himself... "fuck em" lol
Sometimes you lie for good reasons. And he's right about it being science fiction.
I read a while back that more and more Physicists are beginning to believe that we live in a simulation that more evidence is pointing in that direction.
And other times we just lie because we don't want mama to fuss away our time with some conversation about her worries... and then later we realise that we should have spent more time speaking openly with our ma while we had the chance.
I agree it's fiction, but very little science. 😀
@@djfrank68sure, if you read it like a star wars novel. Then again star wars itself is filled with symbolism and allegory, mythology. Funny thing is I once had a buddy who was all into the philosophy and archetypes of star wars but was too ignorant to understand what it means philosophically and esoterically. Nearly every movie has postmodern interpretations of esoteric knowledge, alien franchise is another, the matrix, especially Marvel and DC movies. The symbols have lost their meanings, as you can see people have a tendency to read the bible literally without understanding the mythology.
The Bible is more like fantasy than science fiction.
People can have a good moral compass without fear or some imagined Divine retribution. Simple as that.
Yes threatening children with burning in eternal hell to make them behave is just down right child abuse!
Naw. Only when things are comfortable. Once things go bad, they feed on each other.
George made you laugh, but he made you think at the same time. Sheer brilliance.
I know what you meant when you said "Japanese internment camps," but it proves George's point of how easy a group of people can be made out as "other," and how that perception of those people can continue down through time. The Japanese part shouldn't enter into it. Those weren't Japanese internment camps. No Japanese were held there. Those were American internment camps where Americans were interned.
Good point!
Yes, of course. Most understand that. The term "Japanese" was for those who need a reminder. But also some were indeed Japanese nationals with proper/improper visas. I appreciate your concern with the "Other" though; that is very important to hammer home to the less than historically inclined, AKA your average American HS graduate.
And this was about 30 years ago. He was way ahead of his time and also it shows how little some things change.
Imagine all the material he would have if he would be still with us. He would have enough shit to make a comedy special every week.
George was more like a philosopher that was hilarious 😄
Socrates was one of the OG philosophers who were fricking hilarious.
His whole routine was using logic, and people's own weakly supported theories, to make them feel stupid and reassess their ideas.
And look what happened.
He pointed out too many hypocrisies in Athenian government, so they called him a "corrupter of youth" and forced him to delete.
George was a philosopher that was also really funny. I'm so glad I started listening to him in my formative years.
George Carlin was deep.
I thought you guys already did this one. But listening to Mr. Carlin is always awesome
Yea, its a re up load. We're removing all of our comedy reactions from the other channel. This channel is specifically for comedy only.
Using fear in the form of religion to frighten children into being good is by far the most immoral thing parents do,telling them that they will go to hell and burn for eternity should demand some sort of punishment!
Religion is child abuse.
Carlin was a very smart, very in tune American. He makes you think, and he is on no political side. His words are more poignant now than ever.
Although he leaned to the left, he claimed that he didn’t believe in voting as it wouldn’t change anything. He preferred to just sit back and observe the political/social/religious landscape and express himself through a humorous vein.
@@billr3724anybody with a brain leans left
I think he would probably be more obviously on the left today for the simple reason that society is more polarised and both sides, but especially the right, are giving comedians a LOT of ammunition.
It's amazing how relevant George's words are 30-40 years later. He was a favorite of my Parents and my Mothers family as well.
Watched him on the first Saturday Night Live...
I was 9 years old... and I did get most of the jokes...🤷🏼♀️
I’m Italian-Australian (Father immigrated to Australia in 1963 along with his first wife and my eldest half brother who was 1) and during WW2 similar things happened to 2 of my Dads cousins who migrated several years earlier than my Dad, thrown into interment camps. Shows all you need to know about rights. Also, let’s not forget our Indigenous Australian brothers and sisters.
Fear has been a tool of control since day 1, and it continues today. Great reaction as always guys!
You have to just love George, he’s only putting things in perspective
Once again, Tasha anticipated what the comedian was going to say! That's at least three times. Looks like there's some excitement going on in your town. Hope you're hanging in.
George Carlin was one of a kind. Truth teller comedy. Very good with his words. Loving your reactions. You lovebirds have a great vibe ❤
The hammering of the guilt into you is very western , 2000 years of it. My Grandad, a complete atheist taught me this instead: dont worry about being a great man, just be a good one.
George was our modern day prophet ✌💖☮
If you need a god to be a good person, then by all means believe.
I personally am a good person because I care about humanity.
I understand if I am a nasty person, society will ostracize me.
I choose to be good.
You are good out of fear.
Amen bro. Christians don't seem to care too much about what their god commands anyway. They steal, defraud, murder, rape, and molest like anyone else. There are criminals of every faith and lack thereof
Regarding losing church cred.. I knew a preacher who LOVED Carlin. He would say Carlin made too many good points about the world, in general, and was so funny doing it, that he just let the atheism slide lol.
Happened to Canadian Japanese too! 😢
Great reaction. We are all a little smarter after listening to George Carlin. Another very smart comedian is Bo Burnham. I’d recommend checking out “How The World Works.” by Bo Burnham.
George will always have a piece of my heart.. he tried SO HARD to warn us. He knew what was happening. I consider him a funny philosopher... instead of a philosophical comedian.
Check out 'the american dream.' i think it's his best. then check out his thomas the tank engine skits. can you believe he used to be the main character of a children's show?!?! Lol.
The whole "unlimited rights" bit is a simlification of a 17th work of philosophy that forms the basis of English (and American) civil law.
The full argument is that in an environment with no legal or social structure you can never trust anyone, so you need to see all other people as threats. Since no one person can survive long on their own, this means that the only way to survive is to voluntarily give up some of your "rights" (eg, the right to steal) on the condition that other people in the group give up the same rights.
Thus, all laws, government, and social rules ultimately derive from contracts between individuals. This is why contract law is such an important part of the modern system.
Hobbes also had some other interesting things to say, such as that anarchy and democracy are the same system as described by people who hate or like it, but the above is the main argument.
Thank you! This is my favorite George Carlin show!
Fear is instilled in order to control you. You can choose to be honest. Or you can choose to lie.
George is the only man in history that can make you laugh about something like slavery, then think about what he said and say yeah I agree.
I love how Tasha says stuff right before George does! Great minds think alike!💗love you guys!
PS...MORE CARLIN, PLEASE!!!
You guys missed out on the best bit right at the end. Maybe it was not in your video? He goes on to say, “it’s called the American dream for a reason, because you have to be asleep to believe it.”
Powerful stuff..
That was the end of ANOTHER routine called "Dumb Americans" This was the correct ending for "You Have No RIghts."
George was awesome about the truth ,that's why I say we should protect Dave chappelle at all costs ,cause even though Dave is hilarious, he's also educating ppl to the truth ❤
Wish George was alive today .. he would make sense out of all the nonsense going on… thank you George for waking many of us up since the 80s
I love me some George Carlin
Wonderful Reaction TNT!
Love ya both.
words that never struck me more that his comment "ill tell you about as much truth as the people who wrote that book" made me realize a lot about religion and come to my own conclusions
George spoke the truth! He’s the master & will never be surpassed! Always relevant! ❤RIP we love you still
Makes you think and laugh at the same time
George Carlin was the voice in Tomas the Tank. He entertained my son and I. Then I found his comedy 😂
Omg I saw this set with the old computer and props and his old ass when I was in high school a year before he passed away in Torrington CT I still have the ticket 😅
You had me at Oregan Trail! 😅
Carlin once said that his job is to think up goofy shit to tell us and to remind us of things we already knew, but forgot to laugh at the first time.
George was a prophet. The prophet doesn't tell you what helps you feel good. He tells you what you need to hear.
More George Carlin please! You should do "Saving the Planet" next!
Peace
There ARE times when lying is a good thing. The hypothetical regularly used is if a WW2 German soldier was hunting for a specific person and you were sheltering them, would you tell the truth to save your skin at the expense of the victim, or would you say they weren't there to save their life?
You should listen to the "Stuff" monologue. Some of Carlin's best material.
Preach it George!!
🤣 The Apple 2c and Oregon Trail comment reminded me of my age.
folks, if you need fear of punishment or promise some sort of reward to make behave like a decent person, then you are not a decent person. If you act like a decent person because that is what makes you happy and not because of some kudos from others or promise of a heavenly reward, then you are a decent person. Like the old joke says 'Going to church makes you a Christian (or insert whatever other religious building faith combo you like) in the same way standing in a garage makes you a car.'
Seriously, a full review of the whole special Robin Williams live at the Met. It's one hell of a ride! when he was young, he had endless energy. But it has to be the live video.. because of visual cues and gags.
Oregon Trail on the Apple || .. heck yeah! 80s kids!
George Carlin was ahead of his time. To answer your question on what more material of his ya'll should react to: all of it cause none of it is bad.
Sam Kennison. Saw this guy live a month before he died. He was one of thoes fire and brimstone holy roller preachers then turned comedian....LOL completely insane and a good listen. But again you have to watch the live show on your end to get what happening because of the physical cues.
It’s a lie to encourage you not to lie. That says it all
"Don't lie, because you want to be a good person."
Yeah, that's how it should be. It's how it is. You don't need a book to be a good person. The threat of eternal punishment changes nothing. Either you want to be a good person or you don't, that's it.
Love George Carlin. He has a clip titled ' People I hate'.
If you like his style Bill Hicks is a must.
These were the early days of computers, noticed how he explained to people how to do a search.
I love you guys. Had to get that out of the way. Can't go wrong with any George Carlin you can find. If you're interested in smart / absurd one-liner comedians, I suggest Steven Wright and Mitch Hedberg (RIP). One or both might be an acquired taste, but who knows, you might acquire it! Also of course the great Norm Macdonald (RIP) - his guest appearances on Conan are gold.
I think parents train their kids to be liars by lying to the about Santa for the first few years of their lives.
Think about it ,your parents are the first to teach you it's ok to lie , Christmas,Santa Claus
YESSSSS, SADLY ENOUGH YOU COULD WIND UP LOSING SOME CHURCH CREDIT ☹ BUT WHO CARES, SOME TRUTHS HURT! 😊👍 BE WELL T AND TASHA!
"It's not a right if someone can take them away".
And once they have your constitutional rights, they'll violate your human rights. Mainly the one to even exist.
T.N.T., and I'll win the fight
T.N.T., I'm a power load
T.N.T., watch me explode ;)
Awesome video.
Yo, Oregon Trail is a true classic.
*MORE* George Carlin please 😎
Rick Moranis as Carlin!!!
And John Candy would do an awesome Trump!
Oregon trail was the shit😂🤘
God Bless Him
Georges TV show was Funny especially the One Where George and His Friend Steal a Big Delivery Box.
Check it Out some Time
Lying is a form of deception. If you don't others doing that to you....
Thinking and believing are not the same things.
I would love to se his show if he were alive now. He tells the truth
Tasha is quite simply one of the most completely beautiful people I've ever experienced .....
Carlin is the man! Watch all of his stuff!
Young lady I would have never guessed you were old enough to even know what the Oregon trail on the old computer was,
Good point to view, when he says the government doesn't care..... Now look at Lahaina, East Palestine, etc.
😅 He's a genius!
Do you tell your kids about Father Christmas, the Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny?? ....... 🤔
There was no Internet with computers like that
George in the 70;s baby
Communicating a point thru comedy is fun and thought provoking, but it can't get past that barrier where you say, "good point! That makes total sense!", then go on believing whatever you believed in the first place while flushing logic right back out of your mind.
If "THEY" can take it away from you for any reason IT IS NOT A RIGHT.
Rights are inalienable. Look that word up, and then think what rights do you have... You have the right to breath, can you think of any others... Because your constitution DOES NOT instill rights, it grants privileges to a society that can take them away from you too... A prisoner doesn't have your rights, so his rights weren't inalienable were they?
The right to life, liberty and prosperity isn't a right, otherwise everyone would have them, they're goals, they're stated societal objectives, but they aren't rights... Prisoners loose their liberty, soldiers loose their life and who is getting all this prosperity...
You don't earn your rights, you don't ask for them or work for them, they're yours and you don't need to do anything because they're yours... So what are your rights?
struck by lightning for lying 🤣
Joe Bonamassa - "Blues Delux" - From The Royal Albert Hall or Slo Gin at Red Rock - You'll love them even more than Mountain Climbing & Breaking Up Someone's Home that you reacted to.
I got another Suggestion of George Carlin It s Amazing one of my favorite segments from One of The All Time Greats of Comedy Segment Called Flying on The Airlines Flying on Planes and Then Other Suggestions Content From George Carlin Advertising and Bullshit and Things we have in Common Hilarious Stuff from George Carlin 😂😂😂😂
Loved this review. Stellar. Obviously, religion plays an important role in the hosts lives and that's good for them, but the fact that they were fair and at times impressed with the points Carlin made is inspiring. Open minds breed open hearts..Great job.
"Be good for goodness sake."
You two are an awesome, intellectual and MUCH NEEDED voice on the web right now.
I liked this video so much, that I subscribed and I look forward to more vlogs like this.
I am also a HUGE Carlin fan and appreciate & respect the fact you both chose George Carlin to base your video on; well done.
Just a few must watch videos...

@4:51 "Maybe it should be: 'Don't lie because you want to be a good person' ". My friend, this is the foundation of actual moral philosophy! Examine your beliefs closely and then keep the ones that make sense in a coherent and cohesive whole. Dogma teaches people the opposite: "Don't think about it, just do it my way".
