Woody was a beautiful person and had such a tradject ending .Mr. Lewis was trully blessed to have played with Woody .I know he was in awe of him .He was the most advanced trumpet player of his or any other generation for that matter .I was also fortunate to meet Woody and study with Woody , and can tell you personally he was a beautiful person and never treated me like a whiteboy ,as a matter of fact one gig he played in Philly he kicked everybody ,club manager, bandmates ,the whole crew , out of the dressing room just to give me a lesson ,that blew my mind and I would die for Woody in a N.Y. second .Thank you Mr lewis for sharing this with those who love him .May his legend inspire generations to come .
