I filed a tdiu claim, I was 90 when I filed. I was denied and reduced to 70. I was devastated. I filed an HLR and got approved. The informal conference I requested and thr DRO that I talked to said that the rater messed up and didn't read my evidence correctly. I was approved on the phone call.
Wow, that is awesome. That's why I tell veterans to know what to and how explain their claim based on facts, when it come to HLR's. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for your very informative video. In my opinion, It does behoove everyone considering applying for IU to consider their current disability ratings, and whether they are willing to risk having them reduced or even denied in a reevaluation during the IU claim process. Right now, I'm not willing to roll the dice for those stakes.

Absolutely love your videos bro. I'm 100% P&T and applying for disability retirement from my Government job, does this apply to me? I'm using an attorney to help me through this disability retirement process. I'm not applying for a claim for anything with the VA. Just curious
I just now received my va claim. I fell under the 100 ptsd + 60 for other SC. So I was automatically granted SMC. It shows that I was granted SMC due to meeting criteria for homebound. Does this mean I can NOT work? I want to work. I just started work this week. Thank you for all the information you put out. Doing great work!

I was told be careful of filing for increase to 100% because they will automatically try to put me in IU, which i dont want, i still want to work can they do that?
The VA can automatically do that, they would have to infer IU, I did it as a former VA rater. Watch my video on "they said". Upcoming Webinar "Get Educated On The VA Compensation Claim Process Webinar" (COUPON CODE: WIN10). August 13th - 14th 6-8PM EST: va.kmd89.com/win-your-va-claim Tired of getting denied and ready to WIN your VA compensation claim.
Can a claim be made for IU and an increase at the same time. Anotherwords, if you are found to be 100% for mental health but only apply for IU, will they give you 100% or just the IU you applied for? Or vise versa if you apply for increase but don't meet the requirements, but can't work, will they give you IU with out applying for it. I am ready to file but I am, and it is unclear, if I need to make the claim for both increase and IU. My VA pyscologist says I am worse, but I feel I am the same as when I recieved my 70% rating. I could not work then, and I stated I could not, they did not give me IU then. The dr. tells me to file for an increase, but should I also file for IU? I don't want to have reapetedly file, mentally this is very hard on me.
I think you are over thinking the process. In the video, I explain IU is not a stand alone claim. Also, keep in mind every claim is different. Thanks for the support. No, IU is through VBA and medical retirement is through OPM.

So you need 40% in one and 50% in another = 70% total
Don't over think it, it's in the regulation.
