- During @HooviesGarage Christmas Special I was busy buying my own Christmas present... this 1997 Chevy Corvette completely setup to offroad from @scraplifegarage. After I got it home I let everyone else play with it and two days later she no longer moved. We thought it just needed a clutch, then I thought it might have broken the diff... so we're going to tear the car apart and figure out what went wrong. It won't be going back together though, the comments hated this car so much I decided to part it out.

The absolute best part of this channel is the variety of stuff that you work on. No matter what, keep that going. You can't please everyone all of the time.
I've had videos on channels where I saw the description and was like "I'm going to wait for the next one". that's acceptable I'm sure. I don't know if I've done that with JR though, even the truck ones that have zero appeal to me I watch just to see things get fixed. that all said, what JR wants to buy and drive is his business. I don't understand why people are mad about this Corvette, it was obviously a wrecked car. it won't be a whole Corvette again. the buggy thing kind of amuses me. I wasn't aware these eat differentials.
This was tied with the 9-passenger cracked frame monster truck, suicide helicopter, boat we only saw once, and lead-acid electric Geo Metro.

While I disagree with the choice to chop a Vette up like this, you have a great channel, JR! I’ve watched you for a long time. It’s a simple logic: if you don’t like a video, don’t watch it, and come back for the next one. You don’t need to bring down the channel by giving out negativity.
It's a wrecked Corvette, the chassis is bent, the rear was probably destroyed.
It's the best thing they could do apart from selling it for parting it out.

Same. If I really don't like a vehicle. I skip the video. Rarely I do. Most off-road chopped up cars I don't care for. Not gonna say mean stuff.
I only really hated the Audi R8 Because you could tell it was hindering his performance. Because it was a waste of time going back and forth with the computers. So that's a rare case of trying to help him and tell him to get rid of a project.
Usually when it's Audi or BMW stuff. I tune out. Nightmares
And I'd like him to switch to more mopar's. Can be old stuff. I don't respect Ford after around 1997/2002.
Mustang is the only actual last Ford vehicle. And supposedly they are getting rid of that too.
I'd also welcome Toyota content regular Toyota's and trucks and maybe even modified Priuses for mpg.
I can't understanding why people are hating on this Vette. It's a fun rat off-roader and I will love to rip it. How about some updates on the new house? I am remodeling a new to me house and need some motivation. As always you rock J.R.!

I think it's pretty cool, I'm just not very invested in it because you bought it and we didn't get to watch you build it. And now it's probably a whole lot more fun to offroad than it is for us to watch a video of that happening.

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT.... I think I see a workbench in the background - made watching this video TOTALLY WORTH IT! Oh, and I'm happy with whatever you decide to do with off-road Corvette - it's yours and you shouldn't give in to peer pressure (except for getting a workbench)....
I’ve learned myself a thing or two about car people over the years. Corvette people are some of the most challenging to deal with. Which to me is surprising given how average they are.
Wow, I love that you read the comments here JR, really makes you one of the cooler YTer's because not only do you read them, you act if you think it makes sense. On this one, I wish for a different fate for that cool Corvette. Yes, I know, it's a garage hog, and without body panels, even harder to keep clean/drivable, and of course it's not road worthy. Still, I loved seeing you whip around on those dirt hills and roads with it. The tires looked cool and ridiculous at the same time. Oh well, it had a good to great run, first as one of the coolest sports cars and then as one of the coolest off road sports cars! Haha. On to the next build/rebuild/repair!!

I would imagine doing YT for a living has it's challenges just like most jobs do. You do a good job at most all of your vids I watch (and I have been subbed for years) and I usually learn something especially if JR,SR is in the video. Keep up the great work. I love the new shop being complete and lit up like daylight, that's exactly how I would want my shop to be, with or without YT.

I saw the comment elsewhere, i think the issue was, you didnt do the big work, you bought it, so we didnt go on a journey with you, and you dont often show the end work and play with toys a ton on this channel like cleetus and others, thats wahat i think sentenced this to death is that it wasnt done by you. 1968, we moved to Montana from New Mexico. I drove my freshly overhauled 56 Belair with a 265 automatic. It was great! However, as I had bought it with a mechanics lean it had a duplicate title and Montana would not license it, ended up being parted out!😡

Even though I'm a guy that wants to save 'em all, parting it out is probably the right call. That said, Eff all the haters. I've never understood that and it's honestly a contributing factor to why I'm not actively publishing anymore. Friggin keyboard jockeys mad about someone making content they enjoy making.

Haters..... JR keep the wide angle, would have been good to see the Vette as a full off road buggy with a cage, maybe even a lift. Anything can be an off road rig. Robby Layton built a lincoln limo into a rock crawler, & it turns out it's really capable

I think that car was great for what it was intended to do. I don't know why people whine about that kind of stuff. The one thing that blows my mind is that there's even a remote chance to get a title for it. In Europe they would refuse to even attempt to inspect it.

Hell yeah that's what I would do for a fun car just to rip around in.. I can't believe you considered driving it back to Kansas from Washington State😂 I moved to Wichita from Washington State almost 2 years ago and it was quite a drive in June I couldn't imagine how it would be in December 😮
Was the C4 build ever on youtube?
The issue I see with the wide angle is it adds a film to everything. All the colors are muted and sepia toned. The you get a crisper video without the wide angle.
Find a FFR GMTR to build and use the C5 for it. Would be a great build for the channel.
I think it was cool, keep it alive it's unique and you'll never want to restore it back to stock. Have fun with it and get stupid with it when you feel like it.

The new camera is great but like others have mentioned no 2nd mic makes some content hard to hear and that sort of impacts the overall content.

We are a corvette family have owned may and two brand new ones.
The seventies until the second generation of bowling green cars were crap the tech was garbage and the workmanship was shotty. I think what you did with that crap vette, you bought it that way everyone get over it.
It was crap you had fun with it, probably more worry free fun than any it's previous owners ever did.
Jr you should make a cover for the engine bay. Just drill some drain holes in the floor. You could also make a cover for the rear.
I kind of want to buy a good C5, make it an off-road buggy, and put the videos on youtube. Just because. 😂

That was one rad Dakar off road vette. It would of been awesome if it had a dually rear end.
