This is not expensive at all. Like I’ve been saying. I paid $400 for my custom saber from ultrasabers a year ago and I’m jealous of the experience and lightsaber you get for just $200. It’s a steal.
I expected at least 250$ when this was announced but to be honest those blades look pretty cheap. They look good on camera in a dim room but in real on a sunny day you can't even see the blade's color. Even a RGB tricree custom saber is brighter than the Disney ones and compared to Neopixel they are not even remotely close.
chamoo232 yeah but those are hell of a lot more to pay for. Like you realize for what you pay you get a lot more than you would from any saber smith offering the same or similar features.
chamoo232 also really no saber looks good in daylight sadly. Never in my experience
@@BonesYourDaddy Indeed the price is also in a whole other league when it comes to Neopixel hilts. For 200$ I think it's a decent price when you consider the experience you get. It's really only 30-40$ more than the legacy hilts they sell and you get to customize it. Personally I just prefer spending twice as much and get a hilt that is truly the best I can get. The Disney ones are too dim, the sensitivity is not great and there is a delay in the flash on clash but I have nothing against people who pay 200$ to build their own as that is still a fair price for what they get.
@@BonesYourDaddy true, almost nothing looks good in direct sunlight but my Ultrasaber is still bright in daytime thanks to the Tri-Led design and overwhelmingly bright at night.
I remember I went to Mickeys Halloween party last year at Disneyland and my Lightsaber was lighting up at least 15 feet away. Alot of people asked where I got it from but now they have Savi's.

Why not I like the Sith I had a lot of Red Lightsabers when I was a child. I am a huge Darth Vader Fan. I have always liked the Dark Side. Love Darth Maul also. Like the Light Side but I love the Dark Side. So that is why Red is my choice.

When I went to Galaxy Edge I chose a Power and Control Lightsaber and I have a red Kyber Crystal in my saber.
My plan is to build the Elemental Nature with a Violet crystal.

I did this back in November '19 but I still love watching videos of other people's experiences. I also paid so my brother could do it too. Told him it was a late birthday present.
I went with Peace and Justice and a blue crystal. Yeah I'm a traditionalist. My brother was much less prepared so I suggested he do Protection and Defense with a green. He went with Power and Control with a purple. I'm glad he went his own way because it meant he was making it his own and not just going with what I said.
I need to stop watching these videos, i get so frusterated not to have a galaxy's edge nearby. God damnit...

I chose red and for my saber hilt I did protection and defense that was used in the old republic. My saber is absolutely awesome. It is definitely worth the money.
A year and a half later I’m watching, for my first time, your video of building your first lightsaber. I got excited over your giddiness when you inserted your red Khyber crystal into the hilt.
At the end of the ceremony when you gasp I felt happy for you. I had a big grin.

Am I the only one, whom got a little emotional when she revealed the lightsaber? And John Williams score started to play? For me, the lightsaber represents my childhood...when I was first introduced to the world of Star Wars...and all the great memories associated with that. Thanks for posting, hope I get to do this myself some day.

Built mine in December, chose Protection and Defence with a violet kyber crystal!
I feel like if they would have all crystals to pick from, it would be even better, I would pick either yellow or black then, but red is for sure my favorite.

Great choice. Personally, I would’ve gone Old Republic (Protection and Defense) and chosen purple. The hilt looks so much detailed and glorious. If blue is good, and red is evil, then why not have them mixed as purple? That’s like me. XD

blue - jedi knight/guardian (skill with male lightsaber moves)
green - jedi consular/negociator (skill with the force)
Purple - jedi leader/the one between the dark and the light (channel his energy between both sides of the force like Mace Windu)
yellow - jedi sentinel/the one who holds the ballance between using force and lightsaber
red - obviously sith/dark side users (Maul, Vader ect)
white - i think it's grey jedi but i'm not sure (white means no alegance to any side, a clear force user)
black - The dark saber (tradicional acient mandalorian lightsaber with black blade but in different shape than normal lightsaber)
for some reason there are no pink and brown :P but there are other color shades like magenta ect.
Blue is the color of the Jedi guardian. Jedi guardians spend all their time lightsaber training and protecting civillians. Basically the warriors of the galaxy
Green: green is the color of the jedi master. Jedi masters mainly rely on negotiation and force tactics in battle. A jedi master, while not ad proficient in dueling as the guardian, is trained never to pull their weapon. Though they will not hesitate to use it
Purple: purple tends to belong to more aggressive jedi that use both light and dark sided tactics in battle and overwhelm their opponent with brute strength. They usually favor form IV or Ataru, for fighting
Red: dark energy color
@@AlexAndR01 actually there WAS a brown lightsaber, called Bronze. Its extremely rare and was only seen in the star wars universe once ever, with Lowbacca being the only known user. Bronze also belongs to very powerful, physically strong jedi like Lowbacca who use brute force to crush their opponents. Silver is for very calm, balanced jedi that often take in and study the living force as a whole. Silver belongs to Terra Sinube and possibly Corran Horn. I say possibly because there are some sources that say Corran Horn has a silver lightsaber and some that say he has a blue lightsaber so his color is up for debate
Kinood! Don't try to understand more than the basics of Star Wars red, blue and green (or purple added in as afterthought)! Crystals follow this logic from Lucasfilm before 1999: Just watch the "Original Trilogy" to know that the "blue lightsabers (Luke Skywalker in training and Ben vs Darth Vader dual)" and "red lightsaber (Darth Vader)" first signified a "good and innocence" pupil, learner andceven a Master as the blue vs "the warring and hating" dictator or evil as the red! In 1977's Star Wars it was a color scheme just chosen like that good (blue) vs evil or bad (red)! In 1980's Star Wars there still were no other color scheme as it was still a root for and follow good boy Luke Skywalker's blue lightsaber as one who cares, learns and will fight for what's good and right! A Jedi Master Yoda (of no lightsaber just a cane) teaches the willing pupil how to overcome fear, anger, hate, etc. as to avoid a path to the Darkside! Darth Vader's intimidating red "saber" (as hate and evil) cuts off the student, pupil or apprentice's blue lightsaber (or his feelings of full confidence when not ready) from him as a test not only that he was not fully ready for such a test but how well he copes with first failures in times of sufferings and to only know that there can be another time to come back for that "spirit of blue" where he was once fully optimistic, innocent, wanting to do things for the good again. In 1983's Star Wars Luke Skywalker has the emotions of "green" in his life now knowing he is trying all things good and listening and becoming a good student and is fully confident in his abilities to master his life to not fail as much and to conquer anything as a necessary challenge (knowing they had failures in life from their feelings of overwhelming blue optimism)! One that has "unlearned what they have learned" (Yoda forewarns Luke Skywalker in finding his path to remain away from hate, fear, anger etc. that will lead him away from that)! Choose green lightsaber colors to signify your understangs that it is alright to fail at something only knowing it will only make you stronger: Falling off the horse but dusting away those once clean clothes so that you can proudly ride again type concept! Remain at blue lightsaber colors if you understand you are limited in abilities and have a chance of failure because of that ... But no moreso as a learning curve! The Prequel movies introduce us to a "purple lightsaber" from Mace Windu as the one who has parallel goals in the fight vs "evil or red" or the one who is gifted and lucky to not have had difficulties in learning and achieving their path to complete mastery to their good life goals!
Post 1999 movies extended the following: But as we learned in EP III with Mace Windu not having the hard times in learning with probably a seemingly easier life make it even more detrimental to them when something really bad can happen too (blue lightsaber life cut from us not as serious as the one who thought they were invincible or superperson weilding a purple attitude in their chosen path to good life but find out they were no better than the best average person). So the purple feelings of mastering good by winning all the time need a little more learning from the "green masters" who can actually teach them that "difficult it is to see a more serious failure" even to those who were not trained to notice that! Note: Anakin remains with a blue lightsaber transitioning to red with no green because of unwillingness to learn, unlearn what makes them fail, easily be tempted to the wrong path in life, etc. (Even dualing a master Obi Wan Kenobi's green lightsaber with a blue lightsaber's capabilities as to which has a moral high ground to full truth and learning to discern right from wrong in life)! ... All other lightsaber colors are from cartoon TV so no relatible knowledge can be determined from non-Hollywood actors and actresses using them to be more personally relatable too (like Dark Kyber Crystal supposed to represent ultimate raw power that can be used for good or evil (but ideal and unusable as Yoda in that cartoon series understood), Yellow Crystal as defenders of Justice of the blues and greens)! One other, the White Crystal representing betrayed by good people but rather than turn to the Dark Side remain neutral and be more "on the fence" in remaining matters with their lives! Ashoka in that cartoon series after wrongly accused being guilty of being on the Dark Side remained neutral after being cleared and innocent!

I'd pick the red Crystal but I'd go with the saber theme that has the tooth for the pommel. I wonder if I could leave the Crystal exposed like starkiller.

I'd choose purple! A mix of both the light, and the dark.
Funny thing is, it's not anything deep or anything like that, it only exists because Samuel Jackson wanted a cool looking lightsaber.
@@Snavels Oh i know. But going with the canon lore of it now, that's the reason why it's purple. Thank goodness for Samuel Jackson wanting purple! It's my favorite, besides the even more rare color... black!

If I were to choose a kyber Crystal I would honestly choose a yellow one, before anyone tells me there are no yellow crystals, there actually is a place there were you can actually get a yellow crystal
you can get black even tho itll still appear as red you can use a flashlight to see through on which crystals to pick and hopefully you will find the black crystal but itll only be in the red packs and i wish they made a more dark and evil hilt

I'd go with the purple one. I like the fact that it's a mixture of light and darkness (blue and red) since I love both Jedi/good characters like Yoda, Obi-wan and Sith/bad characters like Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader. Also purple is one of my favourite colours.

Jake Milne yep. More versatility. You can clip it on emitter up to grab it reverse grip, and emitter down to grab it normally.
