  • This week Sucheta Dalal talks about fake financial gurus and the risks they pose to investors. She highlights how these unregistered advisors can mislead investors and make unrealistic promises. You never disappoint with the topic selection. I really wish more and more people follow your videos but unfortunately social media works like fast food. People follow the taste not quality. Scamsters are marketing themselves. There is really a need to bring comprehensive rules and compliance for social media. Anything on public platform cannot be left uncontrolled by regulators specially when it comes to advisory and playing with people's money. Similarly we have health gurus on social media who are fake and playing with health of people.

      “Thank you so much for the appreciation of our work. It is true that more people should benefit from the frank discussions in these videos - but we live in a world of paid influencers who have resources for promotions - so independent voices get drowned out. May we request you to help spread the word by sharing these videoblogs and subscribing? thank you”

    Mam..Great of you and share your deep research form reliable sources.
    But In my opinion it will be very difficult to safeguard monetary losses to common people as they get crooked information by social media instead of reliable official website.
    You are doing appreciable job.

    Thank you mam for the insight, I believe that financial education should be given at the school level too. Atleast the basics of savings and investing after you passout.

      You're welcome! I completely agree with you. Introducing financial education at the school level, particularly focusing on the basics of savings and investing, would empower students with essential life skills. Incorporating such education into the curriculum can contribute significantly to the financial well-being of individuals and society as a whole.

    I agree that the regulators are the one who "don't allow" qualified advisors to be visible by controlling them , their business model etc too much, while those who are not qualified are having no such limitations and hence they can make themselves visible. Its always "caveat emptor"

    There was no need for the SEBI chief to make public statement regarding the bubble in small-mid cap stocks as it led to yesterday’s crash. Nobody shld be blamed if the chief gets accused of insider trading with respect to the whole market if not a particular scrip …..Can she name any stock market in the world where the scrips trade on their actual book values….

    The influencers have no knowledge of the market but are glib talkers only. Unfortunately in the prevailing 'get rich quick' culture, the saying is lost that states 'it takes 10 years to get rich overnight'. Everyone forgets that you should first learn the trade and then practise on a notional portfolio for a couple of years before commiting funds. People do a lot of due diligence on doctors, lawyers and other professional service providers but none where their own funds are concerned.

    On Social media , only those Persons who are certified by NISM or SEBI should be allowed to speak. Financial literacy programmes are limited only to ONline mode and if OFFLINE then in some defined periphery with motto to grab money by RESOURCE PERSONS... Real purpose is not served...

    "In the realm of the stock market, the principle of 'demand breeds supply' becomes synonymous with the proliferation of scams, where our insatiable greed serves as the catalyst. Scams in the stock market thrive on the premise that our relentless desire for profit creates a fertile ground for deceitful practices and fraudulent schemes."

    Sorry madam indisagree that the regulator's job is just to make the product more transparent because if they just make it transparent then they relieve their responsibility and in case anything gies wring they blame the investors intelligence and their wisdom. The regulator's job is to prevent the industry from miscommunication, any kind of wringdoings, safeguard investirs only and not safeguard industries profits at all and be proactive in the sense that they need to put all the regulations innplace before anything wrong happens and instead they are troubling investors by bring in new regulations to snoop on each and every investor. Biggest example is KYC and email and mobile verification which is absurd.

    • @SuchetaMoneylife
      @SuchetaMoneylife Před 5 měsíci

      Well, I am afraid you are reading things in my blog. Where did is say that the regulator's job is "Just to make the product more transparent"?? But yes, you are perfectly at liberty to disagree. That is perfectly fine - but ideally based on a correct understanding of what I have said!
