The fact that "Beverly" if that even was her real name never got caught scared me as a kid but important to see that the bad guys arent always punished.

Splendid work. It is honestly concerning how unsafe the internet, and the world, have become over the years. It has gotten to the point where I have grown paranoid. It has led to a lot of second-guessing. Checking my passwords, updating my VPN and antivirus any chance I get, and blocking spam numbers have become part of my routine. It also boils my blood seeing people being taken advantage of. The best we can do is try to be prepared as well as we can, and know red flags when we see them.

I like how in the episode they added the man who said "not again" when he told Susie the truth, which is to say other kids have been falling for scams like this. It's warning the audience that this happens a lot.

Kudos to that random guy though. He even offered to help Susie call her parents to come pick her up and evidently keeps an eye on that place so random kids aren't just waiting there alone for hours. There are scummy people but there are also good people out there.

Human trafficking has been a major concern for a long time, but is increasingly coming to the limelight. It's shocking how this episode barely brushed the surface on that issue. For all we know, that scammer probably uses her pink hair as a disguise, and changes hair colors and wigs frequently to find new victims.

Here are some red herrings I noticed myself.
    1. If the lady was legit she would be doing everything she could to prove to Susie that she is the real deal like actually tell her who she's repped with. This would even include telling her where the audition would be before accepting her money, nor would she be asking for the money under such a tight deadline.
    2. She doesn't agree to rep Angelica. At first you may be thinking why wouldn't she scam 2 girls for $2000 or more? The thing is, if she made the promise to a. girl who has no talent it would cause people to raise their suspicions and encourage her to run a background check. In the case of Susie, she has talent and "Beverly Jones" see's that, so by agreeing to rep someone with talent it would make people less suspicious.

A very good lesson those people annoy and piss me off. I remember getting a call when I was in college about a grant I won (which I did apply for a couple in college) Now I never got an email from this on either my college email or my personal so I was a little suspicious. So I just simply asked “when did I apply for this” and the woman on the phone said “your so mean” and hung up. Also whenever some of my friends get those calls they just egg the person on and have fun with them to waste the scammers time to make them never wanna call them again.

Man this reminds me of the time some Instagram Creator turned out to be an impersonator and has been asking me over and over to send her money. But the imposter wanted to be paid with gift cards. I kept telling her why not just send me your Cashapp or any money devices apps but then she said that she gets too busy with life. Sadly my stupid ass had been paying her to help her out and I’ve always wondered why she needed money when she makes money on social media. Then one day I found out that gift cards are not used for payments. Gift cards are for gifts, not payments. The IRS, the government, or any business or company would never tell you to pay with gift cards. It turns out the imposter was actually taking my money and the gift cards don’t do a thing. The imposter was covering his/her tracks to avoid being caught. She one day asked for my address because she said she wanted to send something to me. Turned out the imposter sent unemployment cards to my house
Because again she said she’s too busy to take care of them for her family. I was not happy to do this favor. But few weeks later, I sent them back to the company who establishes the unemployment cards and made a shocking discovery that I’ve been doing a favor for a psycho criminal. I ended up blocking the impersonator and avoided from this action being taken any further. There was no way to report the psycho to the police since the account was fake. But I learned my lesson for sure. If something seems too good to be true, that’s because it is. And if someone ever tells you to pay with gift cards, it’s a scam. That’s always a sign of a scammer. And if someone uses your address to send unemployment cards, send them back to the company immediately. Scammers steal identities and victimize you for your address. It bothers me that we have such cruel people who rather scam people for money rather than make a living for themselves.
