- Was All Grown Up Good? This spin-off to the Rugrats premiered in 2003. The show featured the babies as tweens/teens. Because of the concept of the show, it was highly anticipated by fans. However, the show received mixed reviews. All Grown Up shared similarities with the Rugrats, but it was still its own show. In this video, I compare Rugrats and All Grown Up, discuss the success of All Grown Up from various angles, and ultimately give my opinion on whether All Grown Up was a Hit or Miss. Question: What did you think of All Grown Up? Was it a HIT or MISS?
It was a Hit. Nothing will replace the original rugrats but it was a good spin off.
I would say. It was a hit.
I personally enjoyed the all grown up series for the most part.
One thing I noticed recently was that in the second Christmas special "babies in toyland" angelica gives tommy a toy camera. And then in all grown up he has an interest in film making. So Angelica mightve inadvertently inspired Tommy's passion for film making đ
Wow, I never realized that!
That All Growed Up episode will always be an epic in rugrats history.
Agreed đ
Yeah it's like a sneak peek of All grown up
I feel like All Grown Up was a way of showing the babies develop as characters, so I like it!
My favorite episode from All Grown Up was the "Curse of Reptar." Was when Chuckie found Reptar and he starts to feel nostalgic which makes sense, since out of all of them Chuckie is closely attached to Reptar. After all, Reptar has shaped him and the gang childhood, this toy has been with them since the day they started to walk. Hell in the movie Rugrats in Paris, the gang took control of the giant Reptar Robot to stop Chuckie father wedding and the time where Chuckie rode the Reptar toy car that Tommy dad build to saved the gang from monkeys. Beside Tommy, Reptar help Chuckie become more brave which makes it even more sad that he had to let him go since Chuckie is no longer a kid.
Thatâs my favourite episode too. I love it so much! Anything to do with the characters as babies will always have hooked!
Dil & Kimi were certainly better in "All Grown Up", & it was nice to see Phil & Lil become their own individuals (instead of male & female versions of the same person). As a whole, like in most cases, the original was better
Indeed.
Angelica was better in "All Grown Up" as well.
@@jonathanlafferty2271 True.
@@jonathanlafferty2271even Charlotte, who seemed more involved with her family, including Angelica, in the series.
It definitely had good ideas like Tommy having interest in filmmaking, and the main cast interacting with the adults and seeing their dynamics, the scene where Kimi walks in with a pink mohawk and Chaz's reaction always gets a chuckle out of me and it was nice to see Spike and Grandpa Lou were still alive after ten years
I liked how Tommy was shown to be into filmmaking as well - it gave him more of a personality than just being the great friend to everyone. That scene with Kimi and Chaz gets me every time, lol. I like how Grandpa Lou and Spike were still around as well.
It was a good show. I love how Angelica became nice. I would've love a series where they became adults.
That's what they should've done with the reboot. Instead of the same characters it should've been Tommy and the gang being parents and the babies are their children and them going on adventures.
@@paradygmshift7826 Yeah. Tommy and Kimi have kids. Chuckie and Lil have kids as well.
I liked seeing more sides of Angelica too. She developed into a kinder more interesting character in AGU. I series where the Rugrats are grown up with kids of their own as well, would be awesome! I'd watch it đ
@@DialUpDigest It would be great. The new generation.
I actually much prefer All Grown Up rather than the original Rugrats because I just didnât get the whole seeing the world though a babies eyes concept in truth. I ended up buying all 5 sessions of All Grown Up on Amazon Prime. I love seeing all the Rugrats being preteens and what they got up too. I have even bought the dvd that includes the one hour special episode All Growed Up. Really enjoyed listening to your thoughts on All Grown Up.
Pretty much my thoughts exactly. I remember finding the show ok as a kid, but found the stories and most of the characters kind of generic. I did think it was kind of cool that Tommy developed an interest in filmmaking, and felt it translated nicely from his characterization in the original show. Kimi's interest in her Japanese heritage was also pretty interesting. Dil however was the standout, and was a big part of what made me at all interested in the show.
I agree, the stories seemed generic to me too and didn't hold my attention like Rugrats did. I agree, Tommy into filmmaking made sense considering his original character. I liked seeing Kimi express interest in her heritage. All the characters were learning about who they were at that age and for Kimi a part of her identity was her Japanese heritage. Same here, Dil was the most interesting character to me - he kept the show fun and unpredictable.
Most of the stories in AGU were redundantly taken from the likes of ATBG or HA!
A lot of people are gonna disagree but I like all grown up more then Rugrats
Personally I loved it, seeing Tommy and the gang going through kid problems having fun and getting in trouble. It was nice seeing the folks change over time. Except Didi is still reading Dr lipshults books on how to raise kids. Grandpa Lou was right about him to,that Dr is a crackpot who doesn't know crap about kids. Really wished that they kept the show going. I wanted to see the gang go through middle and high school. They could've done a t.v. movie of the gang bumping into the Thornbury family again. Or an episode of Suzie and her parents running into that con artists who scammed her.
What would happen if a crossover happens between AGU and HA!?
@@senorpedrosrooster that would be a tough one. What would bring AGU and HA together?
I liked seeing the parents age too. They were still similar to how they were back when their kids were babies, but developed new interests too like running the coffee shop together. Lol, Grandpa Lou was a smart one đ. I think if the group went through high school and even adulthood, it could be good if they decided to make it more interesting than just another slice of life show. Seeing them with the Thornburys again would be cool too. I would have liked to see Suzie run into that con artist again, maybe her and her sister could hopefully get their money back too đ
@@DialUpDigest yeah shame Nickelodeon had a literal goldmine with all grown-up and decided to give it the boot. Shame that dog years took a toll on spike though. Poor guy is out of shape. It would've been nice to see the Thornbury family again, who knows what adventure they would've had together again. Gotta feeling if Suzie sister ran into that con artists she probably would've taken a page outta principal paingores book from his wrestling days and put that con artists in the ICU. Though she and Suzie have their differences she'll protect her.
@@slanetroyard92 The kids like in "RV having fun yet" got stuck on Hillwood and needed a place to stay. Then, enter Sunset Arms where they meet Arnold, Phil, Pookie, the Borders Oskar (in his true nature, tries to con either the kids or their parents), Huynh, and Ernie, and Arnold's parents, Miles and Stella. The AGU kids become fast friends with Arnold and Gerald. At some point, Angelica crosses paths with Helga; and Charlotte happened to strike a business deal with Big Bob regarding some tech item.
I Think the show needed more characters. The only person who appeared to gain more friends that ened up being established characters was angelica. Tommy appeared to be a somewhat popular guy but he had NO NEW FRIENDS? that doesn't even make sense!
My favorite part was seeing the parents older lmaoooo.
lol, they aged so much in just 10 years đ
All Grown Up still holds up pretty well. I really like the Slice of Life aspect of the show.
That's a good point - I agree, the slice of life aspect of All Grown Up was good.
Dil was the best character in All Grown Up!
I really liked him too! He was the most unique one by far đ
Compared to being the worst in the original
I wish he had a love interest.
Since Dil is so interested in aliens, he can be a âalienologistâ when he grows up.
đ˝ That sounds like a fun career! It suits him very much.
That shouldn't even be a question! Rugrats all grown up is great!
Dil was basically a kid version of Cosmo Kramer from Seinfeld in AGU. Such evidence would be his imaginary friend, Izzy, who could be compared to Bob Sacamano.
I find All Grown Up! an Ok Show, but Seasons 2 to 5 are the Best since that's where the show starts to Improve along with the Animation, I can say that AGU Probably needs to be recognized more since It's deemed as one of the underrated shows. Btw I like how we can get a Close up to see Kimi's actual and the real Father along with her new Sister for just one time since he was the only one left who happens to never appear in the Rugrats timeline because at the time he was living in Japan after all these years. Tommy is still Tommy however hes less of a Leader but he is more as a trustworthy friend as shown in many Episodes.
Imagine an AGU X HA! Crossover where they get stuck in Hillwood akin to that RV episodes. Angelica meets Helga, Arnold and Tommy join forces, Chuckie encounters Eugene, Phoebe and Kimi, and so on. NTM, Phil meets Grandpa Lou and imagine the hilarity!
Good point. I think AGU was somewhat underrated. I thought it wasn't as good as the Rugrats, but it still didn't get as much buzz I thought it would and deserved. I liked how we saw Kimi's dad too. He was just in Japan during the Rugrats, which made me wonder what kind of father he would be to Kimi. Exactly, Tommy's character in AGU was true to his original Rugrats character in terms of him being a good friend. I liked how he got into filmmaking, it was very fitting considering his love of adventures as a baby.
Could you imagine the teenagers going back and meeting their younger selves?
If so, what do you think of that and what would it be like?
That would have been a cool episode! đ I think they would laugh at their younger selves. Chuckie would see how braver he became, Phil would see how he still has some same interests, and Angelica would be somewhat proud of how she was.
I actually like all grown up more than I ever did the Rugrats, as a child it freaked me out but as I got older I found my self liking all grown up so....yeah ( shrug )
@@DialUpDigest I get what you mean, though that may be why I liked it so much. Also fare enough, I understand that most people would like the Rugrats more but it just was not my cup of tea. I do however like the Rugrats films, especially the one about Chucky.
Interesting topic. As always. đđđ
Thank you Fania! đ
I liked it, I mean itâs a whole new perspective on the characters growing up. It felt sort of like a sitcom in a way because they grew up learning about situations and how to fix them.
All Grown Up was fun to watch for me. I liked in the RV Having Fun Yet special that I learned that they live in California, in all my years watching Rugrats, I never knew they lived there, although I guess it should have been obvious as the Grand Canyon was 500 miles away and it was a short drive to Las Vegas.
Oh wow, I didn't know they lived in California either đ. I remember the Grand Canyon episode, so I guess I could have figured it out too, lol. I liked the 1 hour specials, that one in particular reminded me of how they would all go on wild adventures in the Rugrats as babies đ
@@DialUpDigest I often wonder and think about where the Hey Arnold characters live also. Since you know a lot about that show, I figured you might like the clues I remember: in the Veterans Day episode, they said they were 18 hours away from Washington DC. In Summer Love, Helga said she was hours away from where she lives and I saw a sign in her guest room that says Cape Cod, thereâs a Cape Cod in Massachusetts. And when Helga was on the road with her mom, I think she said they were going to South Dakota which I guess is a short drive from where they live.
@@Icebot7 Wow, this is amazing! Thank you! I was planning on making a video about where Hey Arnold is set in, so this is great! Now I have to look at a map and figure this out lol XD
Thatâs awesome, Iâm looking forward to it! I think I heard someone say once itâs New York City and the Brooklyn Bridge was there in the episode Snow but thatâs a lot less than 18 hours away from Washington DC. I think Arnoldâs city is based on Craig Bartlettâs hometown which I think was Seattle and also based on other cities. Iâm pretty sure Seattle is a lot farther than 18 hours from Washington DC. As for Cape Cod, itâs somewhere in those island like lands in Massachusetts. I remember because I actually have lots of family in Gloucester, Massachusetts, north of Cape Cod.
@@Icebot7 Thanks! Hmm, looks like I'll have to put this all together and figure something out! I think you're right, it might be based on where Craig Bartlett grew up. Cool, when I think of Massachusetts I think of that old show Zoom! 02134 lol
I used to not care for All Grown Up as a kid because I only liked the original series but now regret it because All Grown Up is actually a good series that develops the characters more
I preferred the original series too. All Grown Up was good, but I felt like other preteen shows like As Told By Ginger were more enjoyable.
In the all grown up episode, in the familyâs way, the Young Angelica vibe came back.
Can you imagine Teenage Tommy meeting Baby Dil and Teenage Dil meeting Younger Tommy? If so, what do you think the relationship would be like?
I think Tommy would be protective of his baby brother and Dil would think Tommy was cool and introduce him to his interests like Aliens đ˝
I think it wouldâve been really cool to see Dil have a girlfriend. Either Dil having a crush on someone or vice versa. The rest of the boys were in relationships, but not Dil. It wouldâve been really fair for him to share a kiss, and them taking care of each other. Wouldâve been a perfect moment in All Grown Up.
I think its because Dil was too young. I think he was 9. He was too busy exploring his interests to think about romantic relationships đ
@@DialUpDigest He is 10 in All Grown Up. I hope he gets a girlfriend in the reboot All Grown Up.
@Dial Up Digest if there was an episode in All Grown Up about Dil having a girlfriend, what do you think the plot would be like?
@@ikennakonkwo5939 Maybe Dil tries to impress her by being less like himself and then realizes that she only liked the fake Dil and not who he really was. Then he goes back to being his true self and breaks up with his girlfriend.
@Dial Up Digest Good one. Itâs similar to Chuckieâs In Love, except the fact that Chuckie tells the truth and Nicole gives him another chance. We couldâve seen Chuckie and Nicole possibly be boyfriend and girlfriend.
I enjoyed watching rugrats and all grown ups, since I was a kid.
Me too
I actually loved all grown up it was a lot better then the original Rugrats ..If you ask me but I love Tommy and Lil together..I wanted to see Tommy and Lil together they fight like a married couple lol. I wanted to see them become girlfriend and boyfriend, get married and have babies together..I hope they bring back all grown up
I loved the show, but I think they shouldâve took the show in different directions instead of being too tight knot to the OG characters and generic plots. Different friends around our main characters, more plot with kimmy and Tommy, maybe even the dynamic between the main crew. I believe the show was good but couldâve been a lot better if taken into a different directions. And personally I believe the animation change was for the better
I really enjoyed All Grown Up. It made some characters a lot better.
Yes. I loved it as much as Rugrats, and I always will love both series.
i've watched all grown a few times when i was younger and i thought it was pretty sweet.
Same here
I have to admit that as a 90s kid (born 91), I missed out on The Rugrats In the early 90s my family didn't have cable tv and didn't get it until about 1998 or 1999. That said I remember when this first debuted because at the daycare I went to as a kid, lots of the other kids love Rugrats and some would bring their VHS tapes of the show to play for the kids and I remember when that special episode of them grown up came out and all the kids were excited. I remember watching it and being into it and felt that I must've been watching something special because while I had only seen a few episodes of the original series prior, I could somehow feel how mind-blowing the episode was haha.
I ended up tuning into the first season of the show and thought it was pretty decent. Nothing amazing but I nothing bad But I think around it's 3rd season, I got bored of it and stopped watching. I came back to the show many years later and gave the show an entire watch and I can say that I thought it was okay. I think what helped is that I didn't go in as a Rugrats fan because I didn't grow up with the original show so I had no expectations but I can understand why fans of the old show didn't really feel the spinoff/continuation. I have to agree that the show could've used some more characters and like you said, maybe one more new main character, personally I would've wanted to see Angelica get a younger sibling lol.
But yeah I can say after re-watching the show in full, I did like the show and I especially liked how Phil & Lil were developed into their own because as a fraternal twin myself, I could so relate to this because that happened to me and my brother haha. I also appreciate what they did with Kimi but I'm bias because I was (and still am) an art geek lol.
I remember everyone I knew was excited about that special where the babies were going to grow up. It really felt mind-blowing because kids like me who were fans of the show were so used to seeing them as a babies the thought of them as kids was crazy, lol. I'd always wondered how they'd look and act, so I was excited to see the special. I'm glad you ended up catching up with the Rugrats eventually, it truly is a Nickelodeon classic. The spinoff could have been improved, but I'm glad they made it at least. Phil and Lil were my favorites in the show. In the original they were very similar in appearance and attitude, but in All Grown Up they really became their own characters. Kimi's development was cool too, I like how her and Chuckie still had such a great sibling relationship.
@@DialUpDigest Haha very cool. IT really was a worldwide phenomenon wasn't it? And yeah, I feel like Phil, Lil, Kimmi, Chucky, and Dil got the best development compared to the rest. Angelica almost had it but just didn't hit the mark fully as there were things that could've been done a little better but yeah like you, I'm just glad they took the risk :)
there's an episode where kimi's bio dad visited her from japan for children's day and brought her a new baby half sister as a surprise
All Grown Up, as far as spin-offs go, was actually pretty good. Basically the same show as Rugrats, while not being the same show at the same time.
Just bought The Complete Rugrats set on DVD and now I'm waiting on a Complete All Grown Up set.
I remember seeing a few episodes of this show, and had the pilot on VHS; I think the one episode that stood out and was more interesting was the hour-long special Interview With A Campfire.
Awesome! đ Rugrats and All Grown Up were really good at making those special 1 hour episodes đ
I personally love all grown up and think itâs massively underrated. Granted, Iâll always love the original more because of how iconic it is, but I have to admit all grown up was a lot funnier than the original in some aspects. Dil was easily my favourite character in the show. He was so random and spontaneous. Like the way he believed in aliens. Betty was also great in all grown up too.
I honestly really loved the all growed up series!
Most times in cartoons, characters usually wear the same clothes and donât change their looks. In seasons 2-5 of all grown up, the changes of the characters happened based on what they wore and the school they went to changed. Did you like those changes?
Yes, I loved seeing them in different clothes. They were able to show off their personalities that way.
I agree. I thought it was a bit strange at first because I donât remember watching those seasons as a kid, but I also liked it because it was a bit more colorful than the first season.
I might get crucified for this opinion, but⌠I didn't like _All Grown Up_ at all. The concept itself was decent, but the end product was an extraordinarily boring show. Whereas the original series had a sense of adventure and danger due to the babies' imaginative explorations, the sequel series focussed on the aspects of preteen drama, which, to me, is extremely dull and unexciting. Why would I want to watch a show about teen drama when I literally lived through it at school?
I agree that the original show had a sense of imaginative adventure and danger and All Grown Up did not have that. I found it a little boring because of that. Back then I did like preteen drama style shows, but thought All Grown Up wasn't as engaging as others like Doug or As Told By Ginger.
Do you plan on doing other shows like CatDog, Invader Zim, As Told By Ginger, Doug, etc? Also if you made Doug videos would it just the original version or would you cover the Disney one as well?
Yes, definitely đ. I have tons of videos planned for other shows I used to watch. I used to watch Doug so I'm planning on making a video about it in the future, (both versions) and As Told By Ginger as well. Stay tuned for those very soon! Thanks for the feedback! đ
@@DialUpDigest Iâd love an as told by ginger break down
Of episodes, characters, and how deep the early seasons were and how it abruptly ended⌠before coming back for a 3 part movie (? Episode special???) years later
It was so good
I can't wait for your Animaniacs video
I'm sure my negative opinion won't be popular here, but I wasn't a fan of All Grown Up. It always seem like a clumsy and forced spin-off. What the babies would be like when they grew up was always a curiosity all Rugrats fans had ever since they saw the episode where Tommy and Chuckie imagined themselves as adults. But I personally was not that interested in a entire series on the subject. Here are some of the problems I had with the show.
1. With the exception of Susie, Dill, Lil and Chuckie, the character development was terrible. Tommy became a want to be Stanley Kubrick a trait that literally came out of nowhere. Meanwhile Phil had pretty much no character development.
2. Character designs were weird. Chuckie looked like a cross between The Good Guy (Chuckie) doll from Child's Play, Nick Wilde from Zootopia, and a character drawing of Quentin Wilson from October Sky. The other rugrats looked like their bodies grew up but their heads remained iin their baby form.
3. There were a lot of dumb plots for episodes. For whatever reason Chuckie was the the focus for the weirdest of these weird episodes. Their was the one where he thought Kimmy's new boy friend Z was a teenage criminal. There was one where he pretended to be a foreigner named Chongo, which consisted of him putting on sunglasses, earrings and a Russian hat and talking in a funny accent. The girl he was trying to impress was so absent-minded that she stood there when Chuckie had his "Nick Wilde tie" caught in a blender. Then there was the episode where accidentally stole a Christmas Tree. And an episode where he got a self-destructive addiction to the Rugrats universe's version of Yugioh. In that episode he was stealing coins out of shopping mall fountain so he could buy more Yugioh cards!
4. Characters that for me came out of nowhere. I'm a 90s kid and I stopped watching Rugrats shortly after Rugrats in Paris came out. Therefore Angelica had all of these friends who I didn't recognize. This was the annoying kid named Harrold who was constantly stalking Angelica. I didn't now who Harrold was, because he was introduced on the original series a few years after 90s kids like me stopped watching Rugrats. My cable company at the time overhauled our channel lineup and which gave access to Cartoon Network. It had more shows that a teenager could enjoy, like Toonami, Adult Swim, and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. Nickelodeon form that point on was my go to chanel for Teen sitcoms not animation. I did watch Avatar the Last Air bender and some Danny Phantom episodes but that about it for 2000s Nicktoons.
You could say I wasn't exactly the target audience for this show. But considering this show followed both As Told by Ginger and Doug it wasn't the best.
I agree that some character were developed better than others. Susie, Dil, Lil and Chuckie were more developed and entertaining to me than the others. Lol, it's true, I think Dil's face looked the same as when he was a baby, he just had hair now. The same goes for Phil and Lil. True, they made Chuckie get into a lot of strange situations. Angelica did have a lot of friends, much more than than Tommy or any of his friends. If one wasn't keeping up with the original show until the end, you're right, it was confusing to suddenly see Harold. I think many '90s kids grew out of the Rugrats franchise while All Grown Up was airing so it wasn't as enjoyable like the Rugrats. I liked As Told By Ginger and Doug more than I liked All Grown Up.
I don't find Z as a Boyfriend, hes more of a Friend I would say
You forgot to mention what Baby Dil was while introducing the kids.
When are you planning on doing an analysis on Dil and Kimi from Rugrats? Will it be a long time?
Yep, they're both on my list. I'm not sure when I'll make the videos, but I hope to make them at some point đ
Can you please do a "Hit or Miss" segment featuring on one of Cartoon Network's obscure cartoons, "Class of 3000"?
Great idea Edmil, I'll add "Class of 3000" to my list! đ
@@DialUpDigest Anytime! Hope you like the show!
I remember that day Iâll never forget it
I thing All grown Up is a pretty great show both on it's own and as a sequel to the original. It definitely isn't as imaginative or fun as the Rugrats but I was impressed how well it was able to develop it's original characters when they were already pretty well defined in the first show. The characters are kinda your typical generic pre-teen stereotypes but something about it being a cartoon and that it's a sequel to the Rugrats that makes them so memorable even if they're basic from a personality stand point. Tommy is definitely the most unchanged of the group and is only slightly tweaked from his one year old counterpart but he's still good, and everyone else is very different from their original state, especially Kimi, Dil, and the twins. This is practically everything I could've asked for from a sequel of the Rugrats and while I still think the original is a little better because it was more funny, unique, and still managed to have emotion in between all the zaniness of the episodes, All Grown Up is still pretty great and I'm glad I got raised with it when I was a kid.
It's a fine show. I really enjoyed now that i'm 21. I like the season 2,3,4 and 5(being the 4th season my favorite one).i don't know if it's true but There is a rumor that Nick has 16 episodes of AGU that wasn't transmite when the show was cancelled. Maybe there was the end of the series.I consider a underrated show and it's more enjoyable when you watch as an young adult. I like the development what they have done with the Characters like angelica, suzie, Lil, Chuckie and Dil.
Pd: I don't know why but I had dream Tommy, Chuckie, Phil and Dil(AGU version) as the Four Joi from Gintama and Angelica on the Persona 3 universe
Wow, I've never heard about those 16 episodes! That's interesting, I'll look into that. Maybe AGU is more enjoyable as a young adult. I haven't watched the show since I was a kid so maybe I'll like it more now. đŽ Oh wow, what a crossover!
What do you think of Tommyâs character in All Grown Up compared to the original series?
I felt like he was a bit mean in certain episodes. Did you feel that way?
I liked Tommy in AGU. He was a bit mean, but I think he was like that in the original series too.
I liked all grown up as a kid though I was probably in that sweet spot of being all most 5 when the special aired and all most 7 when the show itself first aired (hard to believe it's been 21 years sense it first officially aired). Plus me and my older brother grew up with the mid to late seasons of Rugrats and we loved it.
I didn't hate it, but I also didn't like it much. I liked Rugrats because it was more comedic, while All Grown Up was more serious and dramatic, which I didn't care for as a kid.
Kinda like a redundant version of ATBG and HA!
I liked Rugrats better in part because I found it funnier as well. Same here, All Grown Up was more dramatic and I didn't find it that appealing either at the time.
@@DialUpDigest You should do a video comparing HA! kids vs. AGU kids. They are quite similar, even the parents.
@@senorpedrosrooster That's a great idea! I'll add it to my list. Thanks Senor Pedro!
Both shows are all right, but as a 90s kid, im nostalgic for the original 𤧠đđâ¤
All Grown Up was ok, just another show about preteens but there was something more unique about the Rugrats, how many shows at the time had talking babies as the stars
I agree Lamont, the show was okay, but not really that special. Exactly, the Rugrats had unique perspective that made it entertaining.
I seen the one Rugrats when they had a cow as a mother and grown up. Seen a little bit of them when they were little kids
I liked All Grown Up but if Nickelodeon brought it back, Iâd more like to see it along the lines of a concept like exploring Tommyâs interest in film and Chuckie stepping out of his comfort zone more and while All Grown Up did do that at times, I feel like that couldâve been explored more often but in different ways as well. Angelica becoming an older sibling could be phenomenal but only if they do it right and maybe try to explore her maturity through caring for a younger sibling or even not understand what itâs like to gain another sibling and try to work through it as the series goes on
I'm trying to get the DVD set
I loved all grown up felt like growing up with the rugrats dissapointed thst they didn't do another sequel where they were adults.
Two of my favorite episodes were Cynthia and Reptar
That's awesome Edward! đ Even though Angelica didn't really have any friends, (other than Suzie), at least she had Cynthia đ. Reptar was like a cooler version of Barney lol.
@@DialUpDigest Reptar was reason why Chuckie and Chaz met Kira and kimi.
Would it be consider Reptar a omnipotent being?
@@Tommytokugamer2020 Oh wow, I've never thought of that! It's possible.
Am i the only one who enjoyed all grown up whilst growing up with the originals? đ
Dial Up Digest What do you think Phil having hair like Chuckieâs and Lil having hair like Kimiâs?
I think that would be cool!
Dial Up Digest I canât wait for more hit and misses youâre gonna do later on.
Iâm just curious, do you watch nicktoons like Back At The Barnyard, Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness, and Penguins of Madagascar?
If so, do you like them?
Thank you Ikenna! đ I actually didn't watch those shows đł I know Penguins of Madagascar was a series that started after the Madagascar movies, but I never watched it. Was it good?
Good morning. Thanks for the feedback. I havenât watched Back At The Barnyard in a while. It was funny. I say some snippets of Penguins of Madagascar and Kung Fu Panda, but I havenât watched the entire show. But those look interesting. I might like them.
What happens if AGU crosses over with the kids from PS 118? or Who'd win in a fight: PS118 (Arnold/Helga/Eugene/Phoebe/Rhonda/Harold/Nadine/Brainy) or AGU (Tommy/Angelica/Chuckie/Kimi/Lil/Phil/Susie/Harold (Angelica's sidekick))? Grandpa Lou (AGU) vs. Steely Phil? Lulu vs. Pookie? AGU Parents vs. HA! Parents: Stu/Didi vs. Miles/Stella, Drew/Charlotte vs. Bob/Miriam, Mr. and Dr. Carmichaels vs. Mr. and Mrs. Johanssen, Chas and Kira vs. Mr. and Mrs. Heyerdahl, Betty and Howard vs. The Wellington-Lloyds. Olga vs. Alyssa Carmichael.
Lol, it's like WWE but with Nickelodeon characters đ
These are my predictions:
I think Hey Arnold characters would win against AGU because Helga was really tough and would fight to win.
Steely Phil,
Pookie,
Miles/Stella
Bob/Miriam
Mr. and Dr. Carmichael
Mr. and Mrs. Heyerdahl
Betty and Howard
Alyssa Carmichael
@@DialUpDigest but I think Miriam would flounder against Charlotte one on one. In addition, Angelica from AGU would be a good opponent for Helga: both are assertive; Likewise with Granpa Lou towards Phil.
@Senor Pedroâs rooster Wow. Youâre really an expert when it comes to these kind of shows. Iâm impressed. I know that Helga would win against Angelica. Harold would win against Phil. Kimi would win against Phoebe. Susie would win against Nadine. Grandpa Phil would win against Grandpa Lou. Miles and Stella would win against Stu and Didi. Bob would win against Drew. Charlotte would win against Miriam. Betty would win against Mrs. Lloyd. Alyssa would win against Olga. I donât know about the rest. Which Hey Arnold character do you think should go against Dil? If there was ever the all grown up characters vs the loud house characters, who do you think should go against who?
@@ikennakonkwo5939 Dil vs. Gerald
Are you planning on doing any more hit or misses?
If so, do you think you could list some shows that would be there?
Yes, more Hit or Misses on the way! I have a couple on my list - Powerpuff Girls vs the new Powerpuff live-action reboot, Boy Meets World vs Girl Meets World.
Between the 1990s and 2000s nickelodeon era, which one do you think is better?
Do you like the 2010s nickelodeon era?
I think the 2000s era was a little better. I didn't watch the 2010s era, at that point I think I aged out of Nickelodeon.
Which design of the Picklesâ house do you like the best, the one in Rugrats or in All Grown Up?
Which design in Angelicaâs room do you like the best, the one in Rugrats or in All Grown Up?
They all look great to me đ
Can you make another such video about the legend of Korra (especially since it divided fans for the same basic reasons)
I loved Rugrats. But, I liked All Grown Up just fine.
It's funny, both have a character that gets on my nerves. In R it was Angelica. When AGU came around she mellowed out and I liked her.
But, then Dil started getting on my nerves. Guess I can't win đ
Lol, there's always that one character that's annoying đ
Which do you think is better, Phil, Lil, and Kimiâs hairstyle from season 1 or the later seasons?
I liked when Lil had the pink streak in her hair, I think Phil looked better with his hair parted down the middle and I liked all of Kimi's hairstyles.
The thing I always found odd about the series is they wrote the kids like high schoolers when they were all 10-13. Plus, it was a touch redundant to have a teen show when As Told by Ginger already existed. I mean, the studio made a show about babies, an adventure show with lessons about animals, an extreme sports show, a horror comedy, and an adult comedy. It had variety, is what I'm saying.
That said, there were some pretty funny moments and I did like seeing the original special. If you ask me, there needs to be a Rugrats revival where all the babies are Millennial parents.
It definitely lived up to the hype, it was very similar in a way to As Told By Ginger, and was a little more relatable to me as a middle schooler. Here's the thing, I never related to any character in Ginger (I did love the show tho) because I thought they were people I wouldn't have hung out with and they were just idk weird and annoying as opposed to Rugrats All Growed Up which was more like Rocket Power where I remember having friends similar to them, we were athletic, dorky and into different things from eachother and we just were never seen as outcasts (despite the fact that I listened to Metal and loved anime, steriotypes right?), all in all, Rugrats All Growed Up was great and it should've gotten a propper ending like As Told By Ginger where the Rugrats are shown in a final scene as age 30yr+ adults with their own babies meeting up putting the babies in a play pin giving one last look before they go talk about adult stuff like work and in that final scene we hear one of the babies say something we've heard Tommy say to execute an adventure. That would've been a perfect ending. I imagine however Phil being all tatted up with long hair and piercings and stretched ears with a tough and grungey look and a Gothic or Metal Head wife and Lil' completely feminine and girly with a very manly handsome husband who clearly works out and works with his hands representing the exact opposite of her mother both twins having single babies who as cousins look similar but still very different. Phil I think would be more fitting to having a daughter dressed up like a tough rocker girl and Lil's baby would be a boy dressed in all preppy clothing. Tommy would've looked boring as expected with a pretty but dull looking wife with a baby of their own while Dil would look absolutely wacky and colorful with a wife of his own who is cute and bubbly and charming who you could tell is over protective of their baby similar to how Didi was with Tommy and Dil. Kimmy would've probably ended up with Z and they would probably have looked like Liberal Punks with a baby of their own whether married or not is up in the air. Chucky I think would be with a kind and caring wife who is pretty but not exaggeratedly gorgeous, with a baby of their own. I imagine Angelica being pregnant and being either a single mom or being married to someone who's under her thumb. I imagine her pregnant because as a young adult she was busy making a career and profession with lots of money involved, clearly the most successful of the bunch which is why she's barely pregnant so late in age as opposed to the other characters, she'd be stylish and fashionable but would probably consider the suit her mother wore as outdated and boring. Last but not least, Suzy I think would be a semi - famous singer, idk if I would like her in the ending, I think she could've just be screen timed with Tommy who's driving up to his parents house where everyone is all meeting where we can see his mom and dad all elderly. This way we see what Suzy looks like, while keeping close ties with her friends but without making her a part of the group in the final scene as it makes more sense for her to be idk on the other side of the world making it big with no kids of her own. If she were to be a part of the group idk I feel like it'd be too crowded and I'd rather Angelica be the single mother rather than Suzy to not make a steriotype and already at this point it's a mess, Suzy was just a very boring character who hardly came out, she was okay but she could've dissappeared and I probably wouldn't miss her all that much, kind of like Angelicas red headed friend Harold who honestly I could probably imagine Angelica screen timing with to make sure he's getting his work done as he is now Angelicas loyal employee and friend. I think that's it and that to me would've been the absolute perfect ending to such a great show!
Miss. It should have featured them as adults with kids of their own.
That would have been more interesting! I've always wondered how they'd be with kids of their own. Maybe they would keep a better eye on their kids than their parents đ
Dil was basically a new character
Based on the clothes and hairstyles, who do you think had the best transition?
Good question! I Kimi's look. Her hair looked cool and I think her fashion sense matched her personality well. Who do you think had the best transition?
Kimi, Susie, Angelica, Chuckie, Phil, Lil, and Dil. Tommy transition was cool, but the change of his shirt wasnât as creative and didnât look similar to his baby shirt.
It was a great show they should have made a sequel of their high school years.
I love All Crown up.I actually prefer it over Rugrats. I liked how they developed more personalities. Especially Phil and Lil. They have always been my favorite characters.
What do you think about Dil, Didi, or Kimi having yellow hair like Angelica? I know I asked you a question similar to this, but I thought it would be fun if I could get your opinion.
I like yellow hair on Angelica, I think it matches her purple dress well. I think black hair looks good on Kimi, but if she dyed her hair red I think that could look cool. I think Dil and Didi looked good with red hair.
I think Kimi looks good with purple, dark blue, and dark yellow hair. Dil and Didi also look good with dark yellow hair. Angelica looks good with orange, dark and light purple hair.
@Dial Up Digest No that I think of it, Angelicaâs purple dress matches must better if she had purple hair.
Dial Up Digest Have you ever thought about being a teacher, being a tv host or having tv show because you really have a good view on these topics?
Thank you Ikenna! đ I've actually never thought of pursing any of those professions personally, but I have been told in the past that I should go into teaching! đ
Hello Dial Up Digest. How are you?
Do you wish there was a All Grown Up movie involving a spring break vacation on the beach or about a musical?
Why do you think there wasnât a thanksgiving episode in All Grown Up? Do you wish it wouldâve happened?
Hi Ikenna, I'm fine thanks! How are you!
That sounds like a great idea for a movie! It reminds me of the episode in Hey Arnold where Helga and Arnold's families went to the beach. Good question, I don't know why there wasn't a thanksgiving special.
@@DialUpDigest Thanks. If there was a spring break or a musical movie, what do you think the plot would be?
@@ikennakonkwo5939 Maybe they all go to the beach and there's some kind of sea monster in the ocean and Dil goes to investigate, while Kimi and Lil try to relax on the beach but keep getting distracted by others, and Tommy Phil and Chuckie go exploring on the beach and have some kind of adventure
I wished they made Chuckie and Lil a thing because they had more hints of a couple then Kimi and Tommy. It would've been fun to see and Get Phil get mad at Chuckie parallel to him getting mad at tommy
I'm pretty sure their is one all grown up movie. Where they all went to New York for the parade.
Cool, I don't recall seeing that one. Sounds interesting đ
I liked dil in AGU tbh he's cute!!!
Tommy sneakers he had in the all growed up special were better than his sneakers he had in season 1 All Grown up series.
Dial Up Digest Do you like to make comparisons of cartoon characters based on their clothes, their hair, and their face?
Yes
Dial Up Digest What are your thoughts if Dil and Didi had blue hair like Tommy and Stu?
I don't think that would suit them đŹ
Did you ever watch the last episode of All Grown Up?
I think so
I think all grow up would've been more successful if it was more like Regular show on cartoon network. Even tho they're older but they still have crazy adventures
All Grown Up should of ran from 2003-2016. Then in 2,015 we should of received a Back Door Pilot for the next TV Series.
Dial Up Digest Do you remember watching nicktoons network back in the days?
Actually I live in Canada and I don't think it was available there. I watched Nickeldeon shows on a different channel.
Iâm not sure if I asked you this, but which rugrats movie did you like the most? Please let know if I have.
I think my favorite movie was Rugrats in Paris. I loved the ending where Chuckie has a new mom. I think it was the most heartwarming movie to me.
Dial Up Digest How are you doing? What do you think it wouldâve been like if Younger Angelica and Older Angelica met in real life?
Hey Ikenna, I'm good, how are you? I think the older Angelica would like the younger Angelica. She would treat her like a little sister.
Iâm doing okay. I think they would be good sisters too. They would definitely dress alike if they were ever around each other. It would be real nice.
If Younger Angelica had fairly godparents (Cosmo and Wanda), what do you think the relationship would be like?
She would be bossy to them and make them grant her wishes.
What kinds of wishes do you think she wouldâve made?
@@ikennakonkwo5939 Cookies :)
She also wouldâve wished for other desserts, more toys, to be a movie star, and to be the best singer.
I liked it tbh
Where is our 2nd Remake/Sequel TV Series Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon?
Which channel do you like better, nickelodeon or disney?
I liked both, but I think I like Nickelodeon better.
@@ikennakonkwo5939 No, I don't remember those. Were they good?
@Dial Up Digest Hello. I answered your question a couple of months back, but I deleted my comment because I didnât see your answer. Sorry about that. It was pretty good. What do you think wouldâve happened if Rugrats and All Grown Up were moved to disney?
Do you think it would be a yeah or a nah?
I think nah. Nickelodeon is really good at cartoons. Disney is too, but it wouldn't be the same.
Facts. Look what happened to Doug. They messed up the characters and the settings. It just got too many people shaking their heads and lots of side eyes were given.
