    I remade all of my Autoloops in Soundswtch using the stock ones as a template. I realigned the intensity peaks to the grid better and added attribute cues for different fixtures. I added static looks for different scenarios like speeches, first dance, movers up and washes dimmed for classy illumination. I only autoscript songs that require it for a CEO or wedding party entrance, then just use that as a template to build it out more succinctly.

    Hey, just a few comments about Maestro DMX. Purchased the unit for $675 on pre-order, received it February 15, 2024. No matter what, any controller will require you to patch your fixtures. I chose Maestro because it uses just a RCA audio patch cord to sync. I have 4 DJ's on my schedule that bring their own mixers/laptops. We also use Control Play on nights that we don't normally have a DJ. I have just finished patching my fixtures and will see how it performs tomorrow. The unit is externally controllable, wirelessly via laptop, tablet, or smartphone. Definitely not a "Plug and Play" but it appears to have the ability to be easily tweaked on the fly. I'll keep you informed.

    I used Soundswitch for a few years and moved over to AI lightshow which is the other option. Yeah it’s expensive but it’s amazing. Soundswitch requires some high level attribute queue programming. Not necessary with AI. Once you add the fixture with the dmx attributes it’s set it and forget it.

      $750 is a big price for sure. Wolfmix has a lot to offer but soundswitch will definitely give you the most granular control. Honestly it's a lot of fun creating custom shows and it's so easy to do so

    Im DJing at LDS church dances for more than 30 years, here in Brazil. Just recent bought the Control One and subscribe to SoundSwitch. After a few hours trying to learn how to use it, i'm about to quit. Just cant understand how to program the movers and other controls. The Auto function just light up a few Leds of the fixture and I only can manage to turn on the UV lights when all the others are off. Please, where can I find more datails on specific DMX channels in SoundSwitch? Can you create a video showing a little more how to for Dummies? All the videos on SoundSwitch CZcams channel seams incomplete or superficial.

      Nosa! My brother is serving his mission in Curitiba right now.
      I'll admit that my Soundswitch content has been geared towards intermediate/advanced users. I've been trying to create more beginner content. I recently released a reel on how to get started in 60 seconds. You need to import your movers and then set positions

      @@DJDarylBennett I'll be honest mate. Maestro seems one big fuck around. Sound switch just works. The only real upside to maestro is you don't need a laptop. It's a copout really. They both do the exact same thing. All this ai talk. Sound switch does the same but just needs auto scripting.

    I backed it on kickstarter. I used it a few times (understanding it was a new product) it has a web app that you need to connect to during your set if you need to change anything. My phone and my Mac wouldn’t connect after the first set up. The lights stayed in one mode. This mode wasn’t any better than sound to light for the most part. I went back to Soundswitch, one thing it does so well is the fact I cut my faders and it goes dark. Maestro lagged behind by quite a bit. Maestro is also a lot more complex than given to believe. The poster above who says soundswitch is too complicated will probably lose his nut on Maestro set up. Soundswitch is more like a daw and just needs a learning curve.

    All I have seen from the demos makes my snake oil senses tingle. Now, it does look like a cool box but calling it AI really feels like they are just using a buzz word.
    What I have seen is some OK lighting chases in sound active mode that switch chases based on changes in the music. That's cool, but I highly doubt they trained an AI to detect those changes and more likely relying on major changes in frequency and volume (could be wrong though). It will be a big step up from sound active and maybe even SoundSwitch auto loops, but I highly suspect that a scripted SoundSwitch light show (even just the auto scripts), will blow this away.
    The fact that they have yet to get any out to reviewers (despite continually saying they will), is another red flag. A $750 product needs more than just company demos.

    • @DJDarylBennett
      @DJDarylBennett  Před 6 měsíci

      It's true that AI is the buzzword of the day and not every one that uses it is truly using AI. I can't speak for maestro. They might be saying that the the chases were developed using AI.
      Yeah I think it might just be reacting to the volume and frequency.
      They've sent it to other DJ CZcams channels, just not mine quite yet haha it's a new release and I'm sure they're working hard to fill the demand

Then I used Light Rider for a long time but gave up for their unsolved bugs over years. MDMX is the best of the known solutions to me for now and there is a lot to learn about it.
