In this long-term review, I'm going to talk about my experience with the 2nd generation AirPods Pro.
As a daily user, I have some concerns about their durability and longevity, considering their $249 price tag. I’ve sent them in twice! Mainly because of microphones. But as someone who has owned every AirPods, buy the mother fluffing AppleCare or don’t buy them unless you plan on buying a new gen every year or when warranty runs out.

Bought myself a pair a few weeks ago and am incredibly happy with them. The noise cancelling has been great for repetitive sounds (fans, lawnmowers, etc) I also suffer from the right ear popping out from time to time. Ear twin.
That happened to me with the regular AirPods I thought it was because my ears are tiny

Great video! I had this issue with my Airpods Gen 1, took them an Apple authorised repair, ended up replacing the case for $200 NZ. Given I'd had them about 2.5 years it wasn't the end of the world, and the Airpods themselves got replaced for free as they were still under warranty rather than buying a whole new set for nearly $500. Definitely an issue with the Airpods design but also have to expect wear and tear on them over nearly 3 years.

Love them so far! Dropped the case once and now the lid is slightly loose. Worried that will lead to issues down the road. No other issues so far, but I’ve only had them a couple of months.
Very good review. I had the first generation, and now have the second generation, and absolutely love them. With the first generation, after dropping an AirPod, the air fit test wouldn’t work properly, showing a bad seal, even though they sounded perfect and I had them shoved in deep, so with AppleCare I had each one replaced. Near the end there was a buzz and I should’ve replaced them the last few days of my warranty but I ended up selling them. But the second generation are so much better but I would think that a Q-tip with a bit of alcohol maybe once a month would solve the corrosion and charging problem. I bought an inexpensive case that came with a lanyard and I actually use that to fish the AirPods case out of my front pocket jeans. I also love the fact that it has the speaker because once with the first generation, I couldn’t find them in the case, and no matter how much I tried with the sound alert I couldn’t hear it. I also love the fact with the second GEN that I can charge them with my Apple Watch charger since I charge my watch before going to bed and wear it to track sleep and then I can use my MagSafe charger for my iPhone and the Apple Watch charger as a mini MagSafe for the AirPods Pro 2. But I would definitely recommend getting AppleCare. If the battery is bad after a year and a half you could get them replaced just before the warranty ends, and it’s one of the cheapest Apple care products, Apple sells. Just today I paid $269 for AppleCare with theft protection on a 256gb 14 promax, which about 1/5 of the price, whereas AppleCare for the AirPods Pro is just over 11%.
I have had the same charging issue with my right pod, and thought it was just me, so glad to see this review. Will keep the moisture issue in mind.

Had the same problem of one earphone (left side) not charging reliably in the case with my 4 year old Powerbeats Pro. The problem never got better so I moved to AirPods Pro (original) last year. Have now had them for a year or so. They are great! But of course Gen 2 looks even better. Thanks for the review.
Yes, mine are 4 months old. Occasionally only 1 would charge. I always keep my case at least 75% charged. I clean them properly as described by Apple. We will se how it goes. Excellent commentary.❤

I've had mine since launch and I use them everyday. So far I haven't had any corrosion issues but I think the ANC on the left ear bud is a bit "off". I noticed I can hear more sounds out the left side compared to the right ear bud. It's not that big of a deal for me to get them replaced, (I do have applecare for my Airpods), since its not that bad. Other than that they have been great.
i bought mine a week after they came out and they’re still in good condition. my only main complaint is that sometimes when i’m at work, one of them randomly shuts off, but then turns back on. i’m not sure if it’s a bug or has to do with the actual airpods, but after like 10 seconds the other airpods reconnects like normal. the audio, spatial audio, and loudness still sounds as good as they did brand new
I literally have the same issues with my Pro 2s. Right earbud popping out once in a while and problems with charging (they seem to be doing fine right now though). I love the ANC, using it is literally the best feeling.
I got mine a few weeks ago and I love them. I work at a car wash I can keep one of my earbuds in and block out all the sound for my blowers and everything I don’t hear nothing except for whatever ears open so I love them listening to my music do not proceed with caution. If you want headphones guys, some people will never be happy no matter how good it is you can’t please them

I literally wear my headphones for 8 hours a day. I workout in them at the gym. I run every morning in them (5k in the mornings) I drive in them when my plz are on the phone and I don’t want to hear them. They still work great and I had mines since launch. The touch feature is awesome. I made the left bud activate Siri. Great great great set of buds. Gen 1 sucked with no base but these are magic

I had trouble with the right earbud charging as well! I just stuck a Q tip down the case and it seemed to work fine
My Air Pods Pro 2 are great. Only issue is the case charging. It will randomly not charge and I usually have to do a hard reset on the case or multiple. There is no exact science to getting them to charge its very random at times. Pretty unsettling considering the amount of money these things cost and its such a major thing. If you cant charge them then you don't get to access all the new features you paid for. Might have to take them in to an apple store and get a replacement as ive only had them for just over a month.
I had issues with one side not charging occasionally, then the issue would swap to the other side. I took the case to Apple so they could run their diagnostics software. They said the case didn’t always detect the lid closing. Apple swapped the case.

Thanks! I use a combination of lightroom and affinity photo. I have a preset I usually use in lightroom, tweak from there, then export and edit in affinity!

Good overview. I’ve had issues with hissing in the left hand pod. I’ve discovered there is an issue logged on the Apple website. So have taken them in for a repair. Will provide an update when I know the outcome.

Hi there! Do you happen to have problem with seamless pair from iphone to macbook? I will have to manually pair each time i play sound back in my macbook. Its works great in transferring audio from mac to iphone btw.
Mine seem to have the drifting issue despite being on the latest firmware, maybe due to the shape of my ear and the pressure equalization vents.
They are the only headphones I’ve had where in videos like this it sounds like the person is standing in a room with me. It’s pretty neat. I like how my Bose overears last like 15 hours on a charge but the APP2 are great sounding for sure. Transparency is great too, especially if you have bad hearing. It’s like having hearing aides.
Interesting, I‘ve had the same problem with one of my AirPods not charging properly but I don’t see any corrosion there.
Also it was different depending on if I was looking at this animation when holding them next to your device with the lid open. It indicated active charging and the number would also increase.
When I closed the lid I could see the charging indicator in the battery widget for a few seconds until it stopped.
Who knows why that happened, after a while it seemed to be back to normal and it hasn’t happened ever since. That problem lasted a day or two.
I originally purchased the AirPods 3rd generation but decided to buy the 2nd generation AirPods Pro and so far I’m happy with them
I had the same issue with the previous AirPods Pro's case, I got the new one 3 weeks ago and until now that issue is not present

Is the ANC and Transparency mode meant to make a faint white noise sound? Like is that how it works to block out the sound? I got mine the other day as an upgrade from the first ever generation i've had for years and I'm not used to them lol.
I had the same issue where 1 of the pods strangely had no charge even though I always use them together and put them back at the same time. It worries me that the corrosion issue is rather common. I am based in Frankfurt and is 30 mins away from the river Rhine. Surely that is not the cause of the „corrosion“? I also don‘t work out so the only other remaining explanation is that I sweat a lot? I bought this last Sept 2022, when it was still Fall. This has not even fully gone through Spring yet.
ive been having the same issue with charging my airpods, but usually if i wipe it with a microfiber cloth or lysol wipe, it charges
I am having wireless charging no charge problems, maybe returning to Costco soon. I am worried about durability too.
6:50 Make it a Habit to push/press down the airpods everytime you put them back in your case, just a gentle push to ensure the bottom contacts are good & are charging when you close the lid. A simple solution to not a very big problem.
My AirPod pro 2s have a hard time connecting to Bluetooth right away. Randomly disconnect from my pc. Now the case won’t charge on a wired charger. No issues at all with the first generation pros.
I also had a similar issue of my right AirPod Pro not charging. No solution. It charges sometimes and it doesn’t sometimes.
The only major issue I’ve had is battery life. My girlfriend has the AirPods 3rd generation and when we share audio, the difference in battery life becomes extremely apparent. Even when I turn off noise cancellation and transparency mode, my AirPods go down significantly quicker than hers. I’ve had my AirPods for about a month longer than she’s had hers and it staggers me how quickly they go down. Within 1 hour mine will have dropped about 15-20% whilst hers only go down about 5%. I have AppleCare and i’m thinking about seeing if theres an issue, but i’m not sure if its all AirPods Pro 2nd gen or just mine.
Turn of location tracking in system settings under find my. Find my will continually try to locate the AirPods which drains the battery
I bought the latest AirPods Pro 2, but when I open it the pop out notification only shows the boxes and pair of battery %, does not like look like your video show left ear how many % and right ear how many % of battery…
I have the Gen1 Pro’s and as of late I’ve been having this same exact issue where one ear bud does not always charge.

Very happy with my 2nd generation. The charging issue happens every now and then, cleaning the contacs fixes that. However, I have a problem since around January this year where Microsoft Teams won't play nice with my Airpods 2nd generation. This happens on my Ipad Pro 2018 model where the airpods blocks audio completely in the Teams app, the only thing that helps is to put them back in the case for a few seconds and take them up again while the meetingt is going on. I suspect this is a MS Teams app problem.

@@mehrdadfonooni That doesn't make any sense, it's like saying that spotify doesn't support Airpods Pro 2. I would say that MS Teams app adherence to the IOS 15 API is poor in some way because it was after upgrade to IOS 15 that the problems started for me.
I got them on sale for $50 off. Pretty sure nobody has to actually pay full price anymore. My biggest issue is, they don’t stay put very well. I can workout with them, but they require constant re-seating in my ear. Definitely can’t run with them. I really like them for the transparency mode as well as noise cancellation. If I’m in a room with friends or people I may need to be able to communicate with or if I’m on a flight, these work exceptionally well in both situations. The seamless pairing between devices throughout my Apple account is a huge convenience (watch, iPhone, iPad). So far, no issues with corrosion or charging.

genuinely, the 2nd gen is the best and only version of airpods that you need. i “upgraded” because i lost my pair, but i heavily regret it now.

@@KyleErickson I am asking because i just bought a pair a week ago and i experience heavy battery drain from the case. From what i found out, there are a couple of people that are heaving the same problem, some of them, are saying that the issue is because of the firmware update and because "Find My" is active.
Now I'm thinking if I should return them or should I wait for a new update.
Any thoughts on what should I do?

I am having this same issue. This is my second pair since I got them in December. And now have to got and get them replaced. I am super careful with them. And have not had them close to water and moisture. My right earbud refuses to charge. Very disappointed with this.
Damn that sucks I bought mine on November 11 2022 and they still work as great and haven’t failed me yet and I hope they don’t because I paid 250 for them, now you can get them for 200.
Definitely not buying the pros 3 or 4 unless there is a big improvement in sound quality, I’ll probably just hope the Bose QC2 come down to 200.
8 Issues I have noticed having Airpods Pro for 2 weeks:
-Loud noises are significantly louder and seem to make my ear pop; the Airpods attempt to dampen the noise but it just makes it worse.
-Wearing a hoodie is impossible; the hoodie rubs up against the Airpods and tricks them into thinking there’s a loud noise, resulting in a constant automatic dampening in sound.
-Occasionally they will suddenly and randomly “cancel noise” shortly. I haven’t found out what causes that.
-Frequent trouble switching between devices.
-Says it’s connected to my phone, but audio doesn’t play through them. I have to disconnect all together to get them to work properly.
-One airpod will just… turn off and i’ll have to disconnect them all together to get it working again.
-While watching CZcams videos, double tapping the screen to fast forward or rewind will pause the video.
-The silicone tip gets sweaty after a while and will cause the airpods to slip out of my ears. (maybe I should try a different size🤷🏾♂️)
So, needless to say, I will be returning these or at least attempting to get a replacement because there’s no way these aren’t defective.

Says there connected and don’t work, have to disconnect and reconnect to work. Doing this anywhere from 1-20 times a hour. Had them replaced 3 times so far. 4 times the charm so far there a month old and working ok so far . Good luck if you have problems get them replaced they shouldn’t do that in normal use .
I think apple going to push some more software to the AirPods to just as they do with the phone. They good for me beside them falling out so I keep my hat on my head lol.
I recently bought these also so far happy with the sound quality, ANC is impressive, Transparency does what it’s intended too do although I’m not keen on it, love the touch controls on the stems so much better than having touch controls on the earbuds themselves. The biggest negative for me is the fit they just don’t stay in my ears well enough after 10 mins the AirPod in my right ear slowly starts too slip then eventually my left ear starts, tried all 4 sizes but probably the best fit is the large. They haven’t actually fell out yet which is a bonus I guess but it’s really annoying and frustrating
Try getting memory foam tips they work better for fitting then the silicone ones in my opinion

The only reason I got these AirPods 2nd gen was bcus I had the iPad, the iPhone, and a MacBook Pro 16 inch so I was like why not so I bought the 2 gen and I now I love them I have no problem with keeping them charged or charging and I am getting the iPhone 14 pro space gray 128 gb and the Apple Watch series 8.

Hi, how comfortable it is for using an entire business day call after call?
That's really going to be different for each person. Myself personally, when I was on calls all day long I sometimes alternated between earbuds and over ear headphones just to feel less fatigue in my ears
I wear mine all day at work, one at a time, no problem. I forget they are in sometimes.
I've seen them down to 199.99 which I think is good
New firmware just released hopefully corrects battery issues.

I bought these and the new Bose QC earbuds(on sale). I used both for 30 days and sent the Airpods back despite having 3 macbooks, 4 ipads, 3 iphones, and 4 apple tvs in my house😂.

Give it about 2 years. Mine started crackling when using noise cancelation. Now the crackling happens all the time. Note they've never been dropped or damaged in any way. I even store them in a heavy duty protective case. I won't be buying any Apple products any time soon. Great video btw!

I absolutely hate these earbuds. Got it right after launch and the have gotten it replaced under warranty multiple times. The microphone died on me twice! Thanks to the warranty I haven't thrown them in the trash but its the last time I am getting these. Its sad no one talks about the quality issues of these buds.

I’ve never had a problem with my AirPods 2 pro. I had connection issues maybe 2-3 times within my ownership. I had them in my ears and it would just not connect. I put them in the case press the button and it works. I clean them everyday ( for health reason ) and always charge them. Zero problems honestly.
I lost mine 3 weeks in💀💀
The only issue ive had is freaking headaches from wearing them

Get apple care and no worries about battery life
Fun fact just whipe them down with rubbing alcohol on the airpods tips and them get qtip and whipe the spots and it works fine. I think the word "corosion" is wrong and it's more of just stuff getting inside the little areas.
I clean mine with alcohol all the time. It’s corrosion, likely from the moisture in the air here where we can get 100% humidly.

There is nothing wrong with these buds. Apple even updated the sound profile with a new update. They are fine just as the gen 1 were

They stay in my ears when running and become unnoticeable. They are tight but comfortable. The sound quality is about the same as the 1st gen buds. They pair more easily with my LG G8 ThinQ and immediately reconnect when removed from the case. The sound balance is excellent, good but not overpowering base and clean mid tones and highs.Cons: The noise cancellation is good but perhaps a little less effective than the Bose ANC on the 1st gen buds. Passthrough mode as not as good as the 1st gen buds making it a little more difficult to hear conversations when in passthrough.
