The revamped version is an absolute MASTERPIECE. Enough said. đŻđŻđŻ
One big thing that a lot of people (including myself) miss they first time seeing the revamped video is that the woman (Paige) is in there twice. The version of her wearing the white dress is after she has been turned into a vampire. She is walking through, looking at her memories of the events that led to her taking her own life after finding out Ronnie was a vampire, and that led Ronnie to giving up his own life (presumably to save her since they were already looking for him).
I guess looking for the addiction themes, it might be about dragging someone else into the addiction with them, or at the very least dragging them down because of the lifestyle. Might be something to think further on, at least. ^_^

I'm so glad you did both together. For me, revamped not only is SO MUCH BETTER, but it shows his maturity and growth musically and vocally, even emotionally. I love the whole cinematic vibe. And, THAT VOICE!!!!! Thanks for a great reaction.
Don't know if it's been mentioned but Derek Jones is the guy with the guitar solo in the original version. Insanely talented guitarist. Unfortunately he passed in 2020 from a subdural hematoma, according to Ronnie's book.
The solo is Jacky Vincent.

Ronni is an invisible actor. Everyone talks about the different genres he excels at, his vocal range ( wow ) and how visionary he is, but his acting abilities (again wow ) seem to get overlooked. He sings with emotion and that is something actors try to learn.

This song was for me always more about my autoimmune conditions (thyroid problema especially), bipolar disorder and anxiety plus traumas. As a kid I listened to it in my erratic, chaotic homelife years and felt seen by an adult man with addictions.

Great reaction! One quick thing for your info...screamo is technically a subgenre pf metal. It is metalcore Emo with screaming. Now in this case you are right that was screamo...but...what Ronnie did was not screamo it was a style of singing. I'm trying to save you the annoying attacks from my fellow metal nerds when you without meaning to say "Alex Terrible is really good at screamo" (dont do that for the love of god lol). Anyway great job!

It is not in the official song title, but it still is a reimagination too by definition, i.e. a remake of an earlier version, but which approaches the story from a refreshed or new viewpoint. Nick is not wrong đ
