  • One day I received a call from a lady who wanted me to come by and take a look at the blackberry horror she was dealing with. Once I came over she explained the situation which was a very common one. An HOA's property was left neglected and unmaintained resulting in the blackberries coming in and quickly taking over while also pushing onto her property. There was some time of communication between the HOA and the neighbor, but after some time they finally came to a resolution.
    We came over here and quickly went in with our Stihl FS-240 with our mulching blade and started mulching these blackberries. The first section had blackberries that grew into a tree resulting in some bushes 10ft+! But starting from the bottom and working our way up, we were able to tackle this problem and clear the blackberries!

      It really is hard work even with the right equipment, if I don't do these for a while and try to do it going all in, my body will definitely be sore the next day. Thanks Conny!

    An HOA that didn’t take care of its own property; yet they are so eager to fine & tell others how to take care of theirs! Hypocrites!

    David, every time I see you cutting these berries I start to feel bad, then I remember the blackberries trying to take over my backyard and urge you on! 😄

      Haha, they look nice with the flowers and berries, but apart from that they’re a little irritating when they start growing onto properties😅

    Mulching blades are the nuts! I use an Oregan twin blade on my Husqvarna 535LK pro combi and there's not much that stops it! 👍

    Holy BATMAN, pow, ka-pow! That's insane. That has to be several years growth... the canes are over 1/4 ".
    I'd torch the lot and e joy a good bond 🔥 fire.... the soils extremely acid to grow black berry's. That OREGON blade is chewing up that mess, very quickly. You sir, are a brave man who's patience is vast....well done
    You know, goats would e joy this feast.... some one should bring a herd in and let them chomp away.... 1 week and it would be barren

    Bramble smothers all other growth and has so much dead material that allows it to roll over everything,it makes a good mulch like this.

    Sorry to be a spoil sport, but if berry vines are not taken up by the root, they will return even bigger.

    • @golovinpropertyservices
      @golovinpropertyservices  Před rokem +2

      With my experience, they so grow back. But once they are cut 1-2 times they will usually die off. There is one area I have done previously that is a great example of this. Most of this is actually dead, it’s about 80% dead mass and 20% alive. I explained this to the client and that it would be best to have them cut once again once they start sprouting.

    I'd watch you struggling with those bushes for a few minutes then hire someone with proper equipment like a tractor and brush hog
