Lyrics:
Hey, everything must always start again. That's how it goes my little Mickey Finn
They rob you and they kick you when you're out like a light, I know it's happening
And everybody's wondering where their little light is
And everybody's wondering where their little light is
Give me something, Bloomsday's coming, open up the doors and have a goddamn beer
Ring the baker, the butcher, the charioteer, the palm readers in Salem, the engineer
And everybody's wondering where their little light is
And everybody's wondering where their little light is
The little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine
The little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine
So are you a socialite, do you buy candles to pricey now to light?
Or are you an Okie from Okmulgee just making due with wax and pride?
And everybody's wondering where their little light is
And everybody's wondering where their little light is
The little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine
The little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine

I LOVE YOU ❤️ THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE JOY 😊
As good as it gets. What a beautiful song.
It's a grower, great harmonising and singing in general that draws you deeper....'and everybody's wonderin where there little light is'...a sonic balm
Heard it late at night on Iowa Public Radio.
God, I love this.....
Sounds like a hug from a distant friend! 🤎
More than you know.
I had a brain injury more than a year ago. I'd lost Samantha and 'Bloomsday' for too long. My daughter finally found it and returned it to my soul from far away.
Thanks again and again, Samantha.
Love, LOve, LOVe, LOVE.
Sending big LOVE to ya.
Good Luck to Us All
Peace
The last time I cried before hearing this song was 10 years ago at my Dad's funeral. Something about it man.
This song wasn't released then.
@@RivLoveshine I know.
I get it… you haven’t cried in a long time, but the song evoked those emotions and you. some thing about this song moves me too. 😢
oh my god, what a song. the best I have heard in many a year. just spell binding brilliant.
Absolutely beautiful. It's nice to hear good new music is still being made.
This is my earworm for 2022... and quite possibly, beyond!!!
I heard this song for the first time this morning on BBC 6Music and absolutely loved it. It's beautiful!
Same but a month after you!
Didn't think it was possible to like even more each time I hear it. What a beautiful song and how lucky are we have to have Radio 6 so we can discover such tunes
Heard it today on Huey show..had to stop car and pull over..so beautiful
It’s on the BBC Sounds 6 music playlist.
Has me in tears whenever I hear it.
The love here for Samantha & 6Music isn't helping. Bah. ♥️
Beautiful voice
One year later and I'm still listening to Bloomsday at least once a week and I had the great pleasure of attending a performance by Samantha Crain at the Golden Dagger in Chicago. Just she and her little Martin guitar. Such a marvelous singer, and such a great songwriter, a true star. THE VOICE of 21st Century America.
Nice wee song
Thank you 6Music & even bigger thank you Samantha..lovely song x
Maybe the best song ever
True that
So glad we didn't lose you. The melody, the breathtaking harmonies, the slide guitar, just a sublime slice of total bliss. ♥️
Beautiful Song
Took multiple listens to appreciate this one, but it really grew on me over time.
Samantha, you made it onto Echoes, so kudos to you!
BBC 6 Music discovery! A beaut!
Looking at some of the other comments (in an age of social media), getting radio airplay still matters!
I have a whole playlist of stuff I hear for the first time on 6music, never thought I'd be getting into Radio in the 21st century but here we are!
Same
Sublime
I heard it on BBC 6 Music. Amazing follow up from the album “A Small Death”. Keep making beautiful music.
Lil catchy masterpiece
Glorious. I first heard this on the day COVID restrictions were lifted in the UK. We opened up the doors and had a goddamn beer.
It is a beautiful song with a beautiful sentiment. If these words come from your heart that you are a very beautiful person
Samantha Crain.

Wow
I work at the oilfield I’m from Alberta Canada, I was moving in a convoy with my rig to the nort of Edmonton, and I was listen this radio The Raven 89.3 fm and I just listened this song and I felt an amazing connection and vibes! What amazing song 🥰
Had the opportunity to see her open (and perform with) Anaïs Mitchell at the 9:30 club, and wow, as nice as this song is recorded, she is definitely one of those singers who shines brightest on stage, completely different soundscape. Go see her live if you have the chance!
Mary Chapin Carpenter mentioned this song on Instagram. Loving it.
Really nice song, heard it in a radio station in Vancouver Canada
Doods it's classic!
I’m normally a music snob but man I don’t want this to be any more complicated than it is
It’s just beautiful
Beautiful
Don't know exactly what it is about it, but I've fallen in love with this tune
This song really touched me. Thank you.

Spring handshake from Central/Eastern Europe Samantha! Uh, Wow!!! I will listen more and plan to learn the claps of hands for kids. Sending You a greeting that we love a lot and use here, good for any time of the day all year round: Blessing and peace:) Mary Chapin Carpenter sent me too:)#spring PS I checked the lyrics, deep!
First time i heard this on CKUA, i almost cried. Still almost makes me cry in the best of ways. Just need the right moment for it to actually make me cry
Did you get your moment. Cause I did
Beautiful work and great timing!!
I just read the lyrics for the verses, which you can find on Samantha Crain's
Bandcamp page, and they are deep and dark. And fun and joyful, too! A great
deal of emotion and vision condensed down to three little verses. Amazing to hear
the song again knowing the lyrics. The very first tiny leaves started breaking out
of their buds on the younger trees along my bike ride to work listening to Bloomsday.
It all aligned in my heart and my ears
and it's gorgeous. I feel lucky to be here now.
hits the spot. Love it!
Very nice.
Beautiful ☀️🙂
Totally melted me...
Thank you so much 🙏 🌱 💚 🌍 ✨
As I read the verses to this song, and the tragic mess it seems to allude to, I think of the Buddhist poem with the line "light and dark oppose one another light a front and back foot in walking." And this in a song that incorporates the children's Sunday school verse "this little light of mine, I am going to let it shine." And we have traces of James Joyce and his Irish holiday, Merle Haggard, and the witches of the Massachusetts Bay Colony (maybe?) all thrown in as well. What a great songwriter! The riches of literate poetry in songs are hard to find, but here they are.
Really good song
What a wonderful song love it a lot
Voting for you. Great song
Nice and amazing performance on your Music ! Keep it up !
❤️❤️❤️ Heard this on CBC's Unreserved. Love it! ❤️❤️❤️
Just heard on Radio Free Americana. Great song.
Great new song! Thank you, Samantha. Shine on.
First heard on CKUA, Canada's first public radio station. If you don't know Samantha's story check it out. An inspiration to any musician. Power through song. Glad she made it back into the studio.
Thank you for sharing this song. It is beautiful.
Heard this song on the radio by the side of a motorway, when I turned it up so my mates could piss in the grass off-road without hearing themselves. their bladders had some good timing for me to end up hearing this.
Keep up the good work Samantha, way to go ❤🤗🌻
cheers radio 6, early morning drive to work
Samantha just keeps getting better and better. Great song!
Shine on! 💡
I really like her music and she is a fellow Okie! Really inspiring lady indeed!
wow
I heard this song on U2 X radio a few days ago, it’s fantastic! I’ve been playing it on repeat the past 2 days it’s so good.
Heard this live in Leeds last night...what a treat !! 🙌🏻..such a beautiful song 🎵
Been stuck at 158K views for one year. That can't be right.
Oh my God girl. Mickey Finn, Okmulgee and a voice from heaven. Wow wow wow. What a vulnerable/hopeful sounding song. Who are you? Where do you come from? I can't wait to hear more. I wish I could find a voice like that to produce a cowrite with. Until then, I've still got you babe..
Shazamed this at the bar today because it reminded me of What it feels like for a girl by Madonna and it really struck me, it's beatufiul
Perfection. Melody, harmonies, pedal steel (is it?). Glorious. Thank you!
Lauren Laverne just played this on her BBC 6 Music show and it stopped me in my tracks. Gorgeous. Doesn’t appear to be from an album? Sonically it’s reminiscent of Lucius, which is who I thought it was at first.
I discovered this song on Spotify (well it it discovered me) and it won't leave my head. The video made me cry. So beautiful!
WHAT A SONG 👍👍👍👏👏👌👌
I love this so much!!
sound's like 90's
Bbc radio 6 brought me here
Heard this amazing voice for the first time on Reservation dogs...Represent!
Greetings from Wichita
Kudos to UnderCurrents on NPR! They play this song a lot. Just beautiful!
Simply incredible. Samantha is an artist with haunting power and empathy.
Came here to see if anyone else had noticed the Grim Fandango reference. Great song, heard it on the Radio 6 New Music playlist.
Can you explain what this means?
I've heard of Clem Fandango. Is that his Goth cousin?
this is ace, but really difficult to find - can you make the thumbnail a pic of you holding the cake, as after seeing the ad it’s really difficult to find which video is the one when searching.
It reminds me of Smashing Pumpkins at their sweetest and most tender.
زور زور جوانه🥳
I love you, Samantha Crain.
Please take good care of yourself.
This song, music, and, video...wow
Peace
Hey only Samantha is the name but there are more voices,, is she multi tracked ? Is there a collaborator? Is this a regular collaborator!!?? Thanks Samheads
